Basically sukuna ate his twin brother inside his mother’s womb but that twin’s soul got reincarnated into yuji’s dad. Kenjaku got with Jin Itadori(yuji’s dad) and conceived yuji. So yes sukuna is technically yuji’s uncle and yuji is sukuna’s nephew.

I love that this is one of Yuji's best chapters and he didn't say a single word in the whole chapter. Bro is on a mission😂
So there’s a bit more that the translations miss. Basically, not only is Jin technically Sukunas brother, but yuji also had one of sukunas fingers sealed in him prior to his birth to assure his capability as a vessel. The Japanese translations use very specific wording that pretty much says “yuji itadori was BORN my vessel”, whereas the English translation fumbled it a bit and said “he was bred TO BE my vessel” changing the context completely. If you go back to the chapter that uraume gives sukuna his missing fingers, you can even see that they only give him 3. The missing 2 were the one sealed in yuji from birth (which sukuna likely stole back when he jumped to megumi) and the one that gojo had kept hidden.
So sukuna was 17 fingers level when he fought maki and yuji?

People who were wrong with the Yuji is made out of a finger theory are riding this cope train right now.

In the scene where uraume gives sukuna the fingers, we were shown three only. That makes sukuna 18 fingers level. He probably absorbed the power of the finger which created yuji from him, making him 19 finger level and then he ate the corpse making him 20 finger level while 1 was hidden by gojo which yuta used to copy shrine.

There's some japanese people saying that TCB mistranslated something in the beginning where Sukuna talks about Yuji's birth.
Apparently, Yuji was already born with one finger sealed in him and automatically as a player for the Culling Game like the OG sorcerers (Kashimo, Ryu, etc...) who made a pact with Kenjaku. That's why, unlike all of the modern sorcerers, he was already registered as a player even before entering a colony.
A precise translation of Sukuna's words would be "Yuji, as a player of the Culling Game, was born with a finger of mine sealed within him. It was probably necessary for him to gain the strength to become a vessel"
And to clarify something to you, Dismantle is a thrown slash while Cleave needs to be in physical contact with the target. So what Yuji did in this chapter seems to be his own version of Cleave, as each time he used Shrine, he made contact with what he wants to cut

Sukuna does admit when he is wrong - in fact he is one of the more introspective villains in any series. The thing is, he only has that mindset specifically for Yuji. Any other person he'd be like "Yuji Itadori, right?"
Man still hasn't called Yuji by his name a single time in the entire series. There are many reasons for this including Yuji being a complete opposite of how Sukuna has lived, the fact he was a cage, the fact Sukuna sees Yuji as a boring punch and kick merchant, and now the fact that he is the son of the cast off part of his soul. Oh and you can add the fact he is beating the shit out of him while Sukuna constantly gets distracted.
Also Yujis black flashes are triple hitting for Sukuna, they not only do damage, they not only power Yuji up, but they nerf Sukuna at the same time. Yuji is built for keeping this version of Sukuna down.

Apparently there is another mistranslation in this chapter, “itadori was not only being bred to be a player in the culling games but also to seal my fingers” should be that yuji was born already as a vessel for the culling games, and he had one of sukuna’s finger already sealed in him since birth, that’s why yuji was already considered a player. And that also makes sense because we’ve only seen/ know of 19 fingers in total

Gojo is by far the MVP here, he made it so that Sukuna couldn't expand his domain, couldn't use Mahoraga or much of the Ten Shadows. If Sukuna had his domain, this wouldn't be happening.
Out of all who have fought Sukuna this arc, I think only Gojo, Yuta, Maki and Yuji could handle 1v1s. (Yuta could've done better, if they hadn't went all in one the plan to save Megumi and instead tried to end Sukuna altogether.)

To confirm a few additional details. Technically Sukuna isn't Yujis uncle, but actually his father. As twins are considered to have the same soul, and Jin is Yujis father, Sukuna is technically Yujis father.
We will need better translations for additional details, but there is undoubtedly also an artificial nature to Yujis conception
Twins don’t have the same soul but they share cursed energy hence why they are weak. Sukuna ate his twin to be complete.
@@Kal911 I am certain you are correct that they share cursed energy, but the TCB and official translations of the chapter both confirm that Jin and Sukuna share a soul, and that Jin is a 'fragment of Sukuna' (tcb translation). Suggesting that they do share a soul.
@@somerandomdiamond7345 if they shared the soul then by eating him the soul should have remained with Sukuna, however the soul at some point reincarnated. Plus if the soul is connected like CE it means that Sukuna by default should have been crippled of most of his CE since twins are weak because they are incomplete, but Sukuna doesn't have that problem.
