Man I cried reading it and have been emotional since I read it. Outside of Yuji, Choso was the only one from my top 5 still alive (Geto, Nanami and Gojo) and he was the most awesome and versatile character. I hope whoever is left in my top 10 stays at least. I just know I will be destroyed when this is animated and Namikawa Daisuke and Enoki Junya pour their hearts out on screen. I really hope next week, Hakari finally destroys Uraume or Nobara comes in to help him destroy them. Also, technically Yuji should have Furnace too, since it is basically step 3 of Shrine, and I want him to clap back. Binding Vows can be imposed on your person or used between two people. Sukuna uses the former.
-First Binding Vow: He did to take out gojo. He enforced the use of handsigns, incantations and the necessity to point at the direction on his WC slash. For the reward, he got to use the WC slash one time with no need for direction, incantations or signs.
-Second Binding Vow: He sacrificed something so he can use his domain for 100 seconds. We don't know what he sacrificed.
-Third Binding Vow: He enforced on his "Furnace" the rule that outside of his domain, he can't use it in multiple targers. In exchange, he got to enhance its speed and radious.
Most of everything sukuna does is accounted for. This is his strength as the most versed being in the world in regards to Jujutsu (Kenjaku could probsbly rivsl him).
I do believe that these Binding Vows will eventually catch up to him. One fuckup and it's up for him.
I feel like the third vow is already in played from the start I don't think it just the thing sukuna made just now
I feel like alot of people dont fully comprehend just how insane this attack is. So I'll try to simplify it:
The Ultimate Killing Technique
First, Imagine several million tonnes of Explosive materials all being detonated at once. Its all around you, on your clothes, on your skin, your eyes, even inside of you in your lungs and bloodstream. We already have an actual nuclear bomb worth of energy going off. However, due to the airtight barrier Sukuna created, instead of just spreading out equally in all directions for potentially hundreds of miles, its all focused in a 400 meter diameter.
Imagine lil boy, yes THAT lil boy, but all of its energy is compressed directly on your city block. If you aren't Vaporized instantly and also survive the absolute insane fire storm that will need time to disperse, then I've got bad news for you, a living creature.
Fire eats Oxygen, you breath Oxygen, you are going to now experience Explosive Decompression. All the air in your body is going to violently be ripped out and as long as the fire lasts you are going to suffucate. Though any part of your body used to breath is most likely mush now anyways, so you're fucked. Ofcourse lets not forget that any of the Explosive Powder inside of you would also detonate, causing you to Explode from the inside as well.
Even Gojo wouldnt be immune to the Explosive Decompression that one would experience in this Vacuum sealed Thermobaric Fire Nuke. Sure infinity protects from outside attacks, but not from the extreme changes in air pressure. Tho Gojo would never give Sukuna the chance to build up this level of debris. It wouldn't have to be at max power to be deadly, it'd just need the Explosive Decompression on a Gojo with weakened RCT, but hey what do I know?
I guess my point is, Choso saving Yuji wasnt possible because the attack was actually weak, but because Choso is the greatest big brother in history. So Todo, what will you do to compare, MY BROTHA!?

Explanation on the fire arrow and its vow
So flame arrow has firepower but it lacks speed and AOE.
To compensate for it, Sukuna imposed a binding vow upon himself.
The vow is that he wouldn’t be able to use Flame arrow against multiple people UNLESS during his domain.
Sukuna can use flame arrow in a 1 v 1 situation, but is prohibited by the vow to use it against multiple people (This is outside of domain so the speed of Flame arrow is slow and AOE is very limited)
Workings : Sukuna’s domain chops up inanimate objects into dusts and the dust gets coated by flammable CE. When Sukuna uses the flame arrow it heats the dust and triggers an explosion. This dust explosion is what we saw in this chapter and against Mahogara and is much faster/stronger than using Kamino alone.

Sukuna didn’t use Kamino this way against Gojo because: Sukuna couldn’t get enough dust because he kept lowering his domain’s range to fight Gojo’s tiny domain.
you misunderstood the vow, to compensate for the lack of speed, Sukuna's vow is actually "I can't use it on multiple people outside of the domain". This is the vow, the domain is just an extra stuff so it can be an AOE

The idea of lacking speed is compensated ONCE Sukuna is in a 1v1. It has nothing to do with the domain, the domain is just a bonus

You read it a little out of order so idk if you caught it but the binding vow for flames was that he couldn’t use it against multiple opponents but by doing it in his domain it caused an explosion by the flame and particles so it would kill everyone inside
Binding Vows are basically conditions you set upon yourself, like "you get X amount of power if you don't do this". Alternatively binding vows are used between two sorcerers when making a deal ensuring that there will be no shenanigans.
For example Nanami's binding vow the overtime is set this way: During normal working hours with Jujutsu high he suppresses his cursed energy to 80-90% but once he invokes overtime it increases to 110-120%. He can break the binding vow at any time and use 100% of his cursed energy but overtime would only increase his total cursed energy by 1%.
Another example: Binding Vow between Mechamaru and Mahito. Mahito must heal Mechamaru as long as Mechamaru becomes their double agent and Mahito cannot hurt the Kyoto students. (Tough luck though Mahito found a loophole and made Hanami beat up the Kyoto students.)
There's an unknown consequence for breaking a binding vow but not much is known since no sorcerer is dumb enough to break it.
The unknown consequence is only when it’s made between 2 different sorcerers. If it’s just with yourself, you just lose whatever you would have gained using the binding vow.

We knew binding vows were a method of jujutsu: Gojo changing domain condotions is a binding vow. Sukuna thought 200% purple was a binding vow. I think modern sorcerers just use them less and it was more important in the past. And there is a cost. World slash has to be done with 3 hands now if he didnt make that vow, he could use it with just the domain sign rn and everyone would be cooked. Also the latest domain collapsed after 99 sec which will expose him to CT cooldown and make him more vulnerable= disadvantage if binding vow that in return brought back the output and radius of 140m that Sukuna used in Shibuya. A normal domain without the vow he did wouldn't collapse and he wouldn't suffer from cooldown but it would have been much weaker that we saw in 258. Sukuna's fire-part of his CT doesn't have good range and isn't that fast even though it has incredible fire power. So Sukuna made a vow that in exchange for more speed and bigger range of the fire, he can only use it either in a 1VS1 inside or outside of his domain + he can't use it against multiple people unless he uses it in his domain. Some think even doing chants for your CT to make it stronger while it has now a longer charge-up time, is a binding vow.
So sukuna basically got hella outsmarted by todo as if todo hadn’t of done that then sukuna woulda killed them all but yuji basically

Gojo changing domain condition wasn't a binding vow.
He gained that ability in the prison realm because of perceiving everything , the whole world of prison realm in a very small space and since domain are manifestation of your mind , he could control it.

basically by using cleave nd dismantle on the terrain , he made it so that the entire landscape was ready to be burnt. basically, expanding the function of the fuuga by utlising the ability of his domain and thus, making it a sort of pseudo sure-hit of sorts. the binding vow he undertook was that outside of his domain, he wont be able to use fuuga against more than one person.

Binding vow is basically sacrificing something to get another thing
Binding vows may get a more in-depth explanation but as far as I'm aware it is simply "give something in exchange for something else". When Sukuna used the world slash on Gojo he made it have the hand sign and chant requirement on subsequent casts in order to pull it off immediately (he gave up its strength in the long run for casting it immediately one time). Nanami had a binding vow that worked in the opposite direction. He gave up power up front in order to gain additional power during overtime.
There are a number of other examples (like Sukuna's domain allowing escape in return for additional range or Sukuna increasing the speed of his arrow but making it only hit one target like he did against Jogo), but the core concept of trade off is in every single one of them. As for how characters know how to manipulate perimeters, well as of now, it is because they are "just that skilled."
Sukuna is the #1 onscreen user of binding vows (Kenjaku is heavily implied to have dozens or even hundreds of binding vows simultaneously) but that isn't a new development, he is the one who explained binding vows to the audience and they are a signature part of both his escape from Yuji and his domain expansion.

Binding vow is simply changing a rule or creating an exception that is generally not allowed , on the price of something or on the price of nerfing yourself
He didn't make a binding vow directly, but by doing those things vows were made, like how using a no barrier domain makes the vow that allows for greater range.

Binding Vows are simple, you sacrifice something, and get something else in return, Nanami sacrifices his power by 10 - 20% for 9am - 6pm, but them after that he goes into overtime, and is now at 110 - 120%.
Sukuna sacrificed his ability to freely use World Cutting Dismantle to catch Gojo off guard(making so he would have to chant, do hand signs and point in the direction he wanted to use it, and in exchange he would not have to chant for that one time against Gojo to catch him off guard), for Furnace, he made a vow that he could only hit multiple targets whilst he uses it inside his DE.
We still don't know what he sacrificed to use his DE at full capacity though possibly the Ten Shadows?
If it was for the vow for world slash, Sukuna would only need to make the dual hand handsign, and he missed 1 arm that time.
