Instructor gives a great class. Includes all steps with sufficient difficulty without overcomplicating combinations. Opportunity to perfect basic steps. Must add that the pianist was also amazing.
I just followed along as they were taking barre just now, using the back of a chair. This ballet mistress wants to kill us! You’re correct, basic steps, but difficult to do correctly, and very, very taxing.
Oh my! This class is an example how to build strenght.. lovely teacher, good dancers.
The teacher speaks in a firm and clear voice. Also I can tell she cares each of the individual dancer. I wish I could take her class!
I am fortunate guy who feels and admires the beauty of dance including classic ballet, but I cannot manage to dance.
The love for dance offered me Irish dancers especially Julia Butler. As ballet is concerned I owe my admiration to this sort of dancing to Natalia O. The first ballerina I felt in love for her artistic performances. She remains my love nowadays, and I will love for ever. It will stay so as long as the Moon shines in the sky.
There are many fantastic ballerinas coming from the Russian school of ballet. The list is long today, and it is also long if the check is done through centuries.
The Cuban ballerinas V. , and a ballerina from Ucrainan city of Oddesa Anastasia M. are at the highest floor of my areopag.
Hopfully I will soon find another goddess of ballet after have watched this class. Who will it be? Another task is to find male masters of ballet.
How can I contact the teacher? I also want to learn from him
I love that teacher who keeps drilling back into the bread and butter of the techniques in all her exercises!

I think it's a bit funny that even in a professional class the teacher needs to tell dancers to come closer during center exercises 😂😊
It's also for sure because of the camera, so they maybe got a bit more shy because of this ;P
Probably because the whole class has one tempo and they're over it.

I love how Ms. Zelensky focuses on the linking steps, complex footwook and precision instead of just jumping, jumping and more jumping. Truly an inspirational teacher.
But all company classes are based on this model- they start with warming up the feet at the bar, and gradually the whole body- that's why the leaps ( particularly for the men) don't come until the end of class. This structure is the same through out the world. Check out the Royal Ballet's company class on World Ballet Day, especially last year's ( 2018) with Olga. They're the best company in the world and also have phenomenally good pianists.

Beautiful class and corrections. All dancers are very strong and know how to work their body really well! A huge respect from my side.

Would also say: very calm instructor, focused on work, also the Pointe work was Great... No yelling.... But Some praise! If we had only such great teachers in the Ballett world... Scandals like Wien and also Berlin wouldn't exist!

I love this class. after Tamara Rojo's barre I switch over to this center. Ah inside in California is brighter with this extraordinary teacher, pianist, and dancers. Thank you. Please put more of these earlier classes online? We have until June here before we can even start to be in studios again.

I was wondering about that too. Is it just a company habit or?
It's a very "American Ballet" Balanchine thing. Ladies do the whole barre en pointe.
Ning Zhou They always perform with pointe shoes on stage. By wearing pointe shoes in class, they get more comfortable with the shoes. It’s also important for jumps on stage because it feels very different when you jump with flats. You can also break your shoes in by wearing them in class and your feet will become much stronger! Hope this helps 🩰

Can you film the teacher demonstrating and film from the back where the dancers stand next time? I love the teacher's demonstration. It would be great to see it when she demonstrates.

@@CarlosReyes-kp3zz I don’t think it’s a bad class. It’s not a bad class at all, it’s a BRUTAL class! Definitely a ball-buster, even for girls. You don’t come out of one of these classes feeling all that great about yourself, but you definitely come out feeling stronger.

she said changement but meant sautés. that what her hands show and when she repeats the excercise she also says sauté.
Its interesting how most of the companies ladies here do class on pointe. I mean normally you see a few but the majority here have.
At most companies usually all the ladies do center en pointe but it's quite rare for them to do barre en pointe.

Thank you very much. Why didn't the girls do entrechat six, when the teacher gave them? Of course they can do them they are professional ballet dancers. Just jump higher people you have the technique.

I still don't get why teachers use commands like "use your muscles". This is just one of the emptiest, stupidest correction or comment you can give. Being precise and assertive in dance is a gift.
It's not stupid. You can easily get tempted to let your leg just swing without control. It is helpful to have someone remind you to stay focused on the motion and not weasel through.

This company, Bavarian State Ballet, is in Munich, Germany. Why are the instructions to the participants given in the english language?
Maybe the teacher cannot speak German?
Many ballet dancers in professional ballet in germany arent german, so they speak english there most of the time:)

At the ballet companies you have dancers from all around the world. Mostly of them speak in english.

I didn't like the barre workout. Why so many short exercises?, three jetes, rond de jambe separeted in two, two frappes, a very heavy fondue...
This could be a mix between Beautiful Ballet and some kind of new BALLET-GYM stuff.

I agree with you. Skilled dancers and teacher but for me its like exercises.
Jude Grant granted this is probably how they start a long day of “real dancing” this is a good way to assess and upkeep technique without overcomplicating.
Dancers don't seem very convinced. They looked bored.
In my opinion, they are bored specially at the beginning of the class.

poor dancers, all the time they are getting the correction to "cross" , and they have become like a knot
class not very exciting for pro dancers "8 pirouettes en dedans for example" ....sorry but class not very dancing and no originality. exercises one after the other

Awful class. So glad I didn’t take this class. Teacher constantly shouting mindless corrections. Combinations are are ugly. Absolutely no epaulment. Tempi all too quick. Nothing wrong with fast work, but these dancers are simply trying to keep up. I can’t even blame the dancers. It’s the teacher. 😕
Yes, she gave me a headache....Ibuprofen for lunch...nothnig compared to Olga.
E B how would you have changed it then? Take more time for slower exercises and épaulement and then progress to faster combination, which the dancers obviously also need in their daily routine? No offence, I’m just asking out of curiosity.
