- Dear friends, today's video was filmed specially for the World Ballet Day 2020 at the Mariinsky Theater during the morning class led by Yuri Valerievich Fateev himself, the head of our ballet company. I agree. They are the 2 worth watching. Kondaureva is distracted, watching her image in the mirror and having trouble balancing.

Юрий Фатеев, one of the best teachers ever. His lesson is so "clean", his demonstrations help a lot. I pay respect!
Ekaterina Kondaurova is the best! Tall, gorgeous, perfect technique❤
Not seen a class today where the teacher executes the steps alongside the dancers so frequently and fully. I also like the way he demonstrates specifically what he wants and what to avoid. More interesting to watch than just hearing combinations barked out. Best teacher I've watched on WBD so far. 🙂👍

Maria Khoreva and May always go the extra mile... It's amazing their capacity to always keep working. And the focus of Vicka is so inspiring. And Kimin at the centre... The flying quality!... This was by far my favorite class of World Ballet Day! Looking forward to see Mariinsky this year again!...

Say whatever you want about Fateev's politics or management decisions, but the way he conducts the class and works with his dancers here, especially May, is so so precious -- fully committed, with so much love and care for his dancers and the art form. An exemplar demonstration of professionalism by Fateev and all the dancers here in the studio - the level of focus is incredible.
A special word to Daria Ionova: her time will arrive, she has a very unique presence, even in class. So ethereal!...
This is pure perfection!!!The center exercises are so well performed!!!! The poor Royal ballet seams like a bunch of amateurs in comparison, all the others are even worse😂😂😂😂😂

Дорогая, Мария, огромное спасибо за это видео. Словно была приглашена в святую святых - на балетный урок Мариинки. Класс фантастически красивый, сложный и простой одновременно. Это высший пилотаж! Темп прыжков - превосходит все ожидания. Получила, огромное удовольствие от просмотра. Педагог строг и внимателен, с чувством юмора, что, безусловно, огромный плюс, - разряжает обстановку и располагает к себе. Юрий Фатеев, Браво! Мариинский театр всегда был и остаётся самым лучшим мировым театром. Всех в Днём балета!

I really wish this had subtitles! It’s such an incredibly hard class specially since most combinations are only dictated orally.Everyone is perfect I’m so impressed.
Am I the only one that thinks this isn’t a terribly difficult class?! Nothing against the dancers or teachers but this seems like a professional level morning class to warm up and get you ready for your day.
@@adrienscott6913 I agree! However reaching this level of professionalism takes a lifetime to achieve. The fact that there are few mistakes among them proves why they are there. I guess it’s an easy class depending on your level of skill.
Maria Khoreva is such a joy to watch! Beautiful musicality and control, I hope to see her perform in person soon

Ekaterina Kondaurova, my FAVORITE Mariinsky ballerina always. Seeing her in Symphony in C was amazing, i will never forget her in this, she was so good at Balanchine technique.💕💕💕💯💯💯💯

I JUST recently discovered HER E.K.!!! I stumbled upon a Nutcracker "Arabian Dance" performance and I was immediately captivated, entranced, "CHARMED" if you will!!! I wanted to see MORE of her work! It's only been Sylvie G. Svetlana Z and Maria K.who have caused me to feel such AWE so far. E.K has EFFORTLESS quality of movement🙌 HER LINES & CONTROL🙌 are ALL SUPERB! RUSSIANS RULE IN BALLET!!! GOTTA GIVE CREDIT where it's due!👏🙌

What a treat! Amazing class. Katya is wonderful, so interesting to watch, pity she didn’t do grand allegro. Vika, Masha, May, Shirikina - beautiful! But what was happening to Somova? Is she injured? She looked like she was struggling the whole time.
I heard about one dancer who was very ill with CoVid and has long CoVid symptoms, it might be her, I can’t remember. That must be terrible as a dancer if you are not actually ill or injured and everybody expects you to deliver, but you feel awful every day 😢
