I don’t think you’re classed as cheating using a kedge anchor as it was used if depth allowed in r/l especially if you were becalmed. I’ve played this sim a few times but I’ve been too frustrated by the clunky interface to get too far, but I can see there’s great potential and it gives a pretty good idea of seamanship and wind appreciation. Looking forward to see how this game progresses! Very nice vid by the way and good easy to follow commentary 😊👍
Sailwind was fustrating for me and I learned how to get around the simple navigation tools to do what I wanted, which is delivering cargo. This title looks allot better but sailwind is still ahead in gameplay if not simulation accuracy... but without tutorials it wont be played by many. I'm hoping they had more ship types and cargo types and or reasons to navigate the waters..would be fun.
@@EndoSims this is just a demo for people to try out the feel of the game. There is a lot more planned, theres a discord too where the dev is very active.
As someone else said dosnt seem much more to this than to sail? Maybe its just bad luck on my part, but as I skipped around this vid, all I ever saw was sailing and reading. Not very interesting to me.
The little row boat being upside down isn't a bug, that's how you'd store it aboard, to avoid it getting full of water.
I know NOTHING about sailing....but if the developer releases this, I'd love to have it in my "escape the crazy world of today" game list.

It's very early - i think he just really wanted to get something out for people to play - looking forward to see what happens.

Yeah I got Sailwinds after a video like this and it never really developed the content I was expecting so I will hold fire on this until later
I was reassured that I was not alone in my difficultiesm.
Reading Master and Commander sure didn't help me, because I have my sails all twisted up lol
well Aubrey didn't have to deal with too many lateen rigged boats lol.
