How to troubleshoot G923/G29/G920 for Connection Issue

This video will guide you through troubleshooting your G923/G920/G29 in 4 steps ranging from beginner to advanced. Each troubleshooting step is available below for quick access.
Step 1 - It is a quick hands on to help identify and diagnose if the wheel is receiving the appropriate amount of power.
Step 2 - Involves using G HUB to validate that the wheel is properly connected to your pc, and that your inputs are being received. In this advanced continuation of Step 2, we identify if the wheel is actually visible in the Windows native controller module and ensure that all of the buttons are working properly.
Step 3 - Steam setup; Please note this step is no longer necessary as Steam no longer detects wheel in this fashion.
Step 4- This is to help resolve Wheel and Pedal Calibration Issues and a blank test page in Windows Controller Properties. This step is considered advanced as this involves working directly within the registry. Please double check your work before making any changes.

Got the G29 for my PS5. Plugged everything in correctly. No LED’s displayed, nothing turns on, and nothing detected on my laptop with G Hub. What an amazing product!
same problem here, i have the wheel over 6 months now and didnt play any racing or simulation games for over 2 months, now i have the problem you describe but my pedals work and my steeringwheel has only a flickering green light but doesnt respond or calibrate...

Bought a G29 a year ago. Stopped powering on in 3 days. Went back to my G25.
Just bought another one, rotation locked at 20deg in sim.
TIP: Check 'CENTERING SPRING IN NON FORCE FEEDBACK GAMES" and set "CENTERING SPRING STRENGTH" to 0.

Hello, I come publicly to thank logitech for the excellent service related to my problem with G29 and the degrees of operation on Ghub as I reported a few days ago in a comment here. When reporting the problem, the company and triggering the original purchaser of the product (because I bought it already used but still under warranty) logitech approved a replacement and they are sending a new product. thank you logitech and congratulations for the excellent service!

The first 10 seconds when you said to check the power, I realized I never actually plugged it in to a power source and thought the USB is all I had to plug in. Thank you!

I just bought and set up the new Pro wheel and it is not recognized in G Hub. Is this the issue that you were having as well?
@@susansanders4971 No i never had this issue. I had an issue where Force feedback was not working as intended in games and the throttle were recognized as an axis instead of a pedal in control scheme mapping. For your issues i suggest you check the power supply or try installing an older version of Ghub.

Thank you, your tutorial is very good, my mistake is that i have it connected to a power extension an it was off for my g29 wheel, so it was powered through only usb, I´ll check it later if something happens

put the plug in more, i thought mine broke, the light was on and stuff, just plug in the plug harder not the usb, and if it doesn’t work it means ur plug is blown out from it being plugged in overnight so find another plug to put it in.
Have a G29, green led flashing and rpm all lighten up. Does move for 1 cm to the left but then the calibration stop. Appears at -450 rotation degree on G Hub even if it's centered. Power plug does return 24V so it's not faulty...Any idea ?

@@Facebookgoku999 READ ALL, I FOUND A POTENTIAL FIX- I fixed it. So what I needed to do was unplug everything from my outlet (except the one below, for context I had an 2*3 adapter for a 2 plug outlet) and it worked just fine after. I had been searching for months prior and I was on the verge of selling it but all it needed was its own outlet. BUT, some outlets have less than 120V, It says this thing only uses 30V but it has to have 120V, kinda weird but whatever. So if that doesn’t work then try a new outlet, your outlet may also have some issues so another good reason. make sure you plugged in all three cords (four for shifter if you have it) to the WHEEL

So my wheel and pedals are not being recognized in GHUB, but there wasn't a solution for that... what should I do? I tried the 4th step, still not being recognized.
Unplugged my power cable, closed GHUB and plugged it back in, made sure there were no driver updates in device manager then when I reopened GHUB it was recognizing just fine!

Hey Logitech, just bought the g29 and its shifter. Games only detect 2 gears (buttons 15 and 16), I've seen I am not the only one dealing with this problem. Any solutions? It is also very random, sometimes it works, sometimes doesn't. Ty!

hey i deleted the c262 file and unplugged and replugged my wheel and it didnt re intsall the file. what do i do now?

UPDATE: i tried the following solution you gave and the C24F file is now gone. It doesent show up anymore when i refresh the registry editor.

thank you soooo much 100% working. Good video.
So I went into the back panel to take the rubber piece out from the brake, Sealed the back on, fastened the screws and now the G Hub cant detect the wheel when I plug in the pedals. Also when I plug in the pedals the entire wheel base starts to vibrate a little and gives off a slight humming sound. Any known fixes for that or is it just finished? Didn't mess with the cords or anything either.
My G29 doesn't come up when i plugged it, it says connecting but it never does.
EDIT: I solved the problem, i was just trying to figure out whats wrong with the GHUB and when i click my gears and then close the app, open it again and unplug g29 and plug it back, its connecting now (It worked for me)

I went through steps 1-4, deleted the steering wheel in the registry, and plugged it back in only to find the same issue. When I have my wheel plugged in, the y, rsb, and lsb button, as well as the dpad, shifter paddles and gear shifter aren't registered in the joy.c thing. The wheel axis and pedals are seen, as well as the as the a, b, and x buttons. Any idea how to fix this? I made sure all my power cables were connected well too. Also, when I open the windows start tab with the wheel plugged in, it scrolls up uncontrollably if that helps diagnose the issue.
That's funny... I literally have the same issue. I haven't played with my wheel for over a month and it just started doing this. I haven't found a solution yet. Please let me know if you've got yours fixed!
So what are we supposed to do if we followed all those steps and Steam still isnt showing the connected controller in the general controller settings?

Same issue--do I call Logitech. I just got mine and I'd like it detected. I tried all remedies on here, reddit etc.
Deleted the G29 in regedit - didn't came up after plug-unplug XD
It worked earlier, but now wheel don't calibrate itself, G hub sees it, turning wheel doesn't affect the g hub, only if pressing pedals, it's just flashing on top and do not react :(

Typically when the LEDs are flashing it usually is pointed to a power issue. Could you make sure all of your cables are properly seated?

Thank you so much! I just got a 923 with a DriveForce Shifter but cannot get the shifter to show in iRacing or AC. When I check the controller mapping (joy.cpl), the shifter is showing up from Buttons 12-18 (R-6). Interestingly, the clutch is recognized along with the other pedals so I can use it if I choose.
Please do help mine is g29 when I adjust sensitivity the degrees show 40 plus but steering still straight and can adjust advanced controls in forza horizon 5 but doesn’t sync with steering

hey everything works but as i start moving the wheel left and right at the joy.cpl window, all my buttons getting crazy, i press 1 button and it presses like 6 buttons at the same time. it always stops working in mid game... what the problem can be?
In the registry I can see the entry for G920, instead of g923, GHUB does not recognize my G923 and neither does my computer, it even does not play any sound when connecting the steering wheel. Any suggestion about how to remediate this?

Everything is working fine but my clutch, thought the pedal was broken on the first pedals I got so I requested for another, and same situation so clearly it's something with the system. Controller calibration won't recognize input on the clutch. What do I do?
I have an issue with mine where my vibration is very subtle compared to how it was before, which had very recognisable vibration (very strong). Now it appears that whenever I try testing out the vibration on other racing games, it appears as very subtle even though the settings for it’s vibration is all maxed out. Can someone please help? I have the G923.

So if I have that blinking white light and the wheel is connected to the computer (showing in GHUB), it's a power issue? The brick is plugged in and the cable is plugged into the wheel. Is my power brick dead? Been using the wheel successfully for over a year, and suddenly today it is just blinking and doesn't move or calibrate. Tried reinstalling drivers, software, etc.

I have a usb adapter on my mac and when i plug the wheel in, it calibrates and spins and the lights are on but when I try to connect it on the g hub nothing registers.

Does the wheel still respond in game even though steam doesn't see it? You may need to bind some controls manually as well.

my pedals are working but bacwards or inverted? for example my gas pedal is at 100% throttle without toiuching it but when i touch it it goes down... same for the brake. if their is a fix for this pls lmk. thanks

I am on Windows 10 64bit and my G29 wheel is detected and 'works' . However Force Feedback is not working in all games and the Logitech wheel sdk software. It seems a system wide issues with logitech force feedback drivers. I am contacting support currently.
the rpm lights on my g923 are lighting up but nothing reacts and it makes that sound when its connected but it still wont react or calibrate
What can I do if GHub is not recieving any inpouts like wheel degrees or pedals? I've tried joy.cpl and there it works normal. (I have the g29)

Please help I followed the last step but the driver did not refresh itself and hasn't came back!!! I uninstalled the correct driver and i've done this two times before! The steering wheel stopped working when a new Logitech G-Hub update installed. PLS HELP

my wheel shows that there is a power issue, but I plugged the main cable into the wall plug and it just cant auto calibrate when i plug it in. I also made sure the cable is not too tight and properly plugged in. Is there any other way to solve this?

Is there a softer progressive Spring for the g923 Brake? The original Spring is just to hard and bend my Rig if i need to brake 100%
What Force does the original Spring have? Mybe i find a softer by myself.
there’s a way that you can change that you’re gonna have to do some physical things rather than with computers, but what you can do is, you can take a screwdriver unscrew the bottom part there’s actually some tutorials on it but there’s a little rubber piece inside of the brake pedalinside of the piston and it basically the top of the piston hits the rubber thing and stops it from moving any further. I took it out as the first thing I did.
for some reason when it tries to calibrate after I plug it only turns one direction(right) and stays trying to calibrate to the right.... any tips? (it has a flashing greenlight as well as all the colors on the front light stay on....)

The buttons on the g29 steering wheel only work when I turn the steering wheel to the left. In the gamepad test window (win11), if I press x when the steering wheel is straight, it presses multiple buttons.
when i use joy.cpl there is no clutch appearing. i recently bought a g29 for ps3,4,5 and im using it on pc. is this the problem? do i change the wheel from ps3 to ps4?
checked power and it was all fine. All i had to do was unplug it and plug it back in and let it fully calibrate on its own..I feel dumb. video was still great I fixed the issue but still watched the rest for future reference. Thank You!
Hello, Logitech Team. So I have my g29 for a few months now and it worked everytime perfect. But since 1 week maybe, I have a problem. The wheel and the shifter are working fine, but the pedals not. If I start the GHub everything is recognizing, but after 5 min the pedals don't work at all, or the brake is to ~5% pushed, even if I don't touch them. But most the pedals don't work. But they are still recognized by the Logitech G Hub App. :/

i have everything plugged in and secure, it shows up on ghub and windows, the wheel does not calibrate at all and has the power
led, and from the windows page thing it seems like the clutch has been switched with the wheel axis so when i press the clutch it shows up on the axis display and not a bar like the brake or accelerator, the wheel cannot be getting insufficient power because i was able to use the wheel just a month ago, but took a brake and when i wanted to use it again it doesnt function

Hey i got a g923 xbox version and everything was fine until one day i started my xbox the got on forza just to realize that when i turn right in the (pause menu of the game) the wheel doesn’t wanna come back (it does come back when am driving) but the problem is that it feels the same when i play another game like snowrunner or farming simulator 22, the problem is that it dont come back on those game, i tried ghub on my pc to look if it was broken and it seems to respond correctly i need help
Hello, I did the registry editor method and and the file didnt redownload, do you have a fix for this?
I had the same issue, this is what I did to fix it: After deleting the registry, unplug your wheel's USB cable from the computer, made sure I had the switch on the top of the wheel set to PS4 (I had it on PS3), then plug the wheel's USB cable back into the computer. Problem solved for me. Hope this helps.
Having issues with the G923/PS5/Snowrunner, The G923 Loses communication with the PS5 when going back to the main menu, or randomly during game play loading screens*
in order to make it work, i Have to Log out and back in with the G923 and it works again... is this normal,

Today I turned the PC on, the G923 had calibrated. I had open Assetto Corsa but the steerring wheel was loose but in sync with the game. So I restart the PC and then the wheel didnt calibrate and stop being able to be tested on Windows and at GHub. On GHub it appears online but does not respond to commands. I've tried reinstalling GHub, reconnecting cables but didnt work. Any suggestions? When on power the LEDs are turned off. Power supply?
my g29 is detected in GHUB but when i open those settins in Steam there is no detected controllers, also when i open setting in joy.cpl on properties there is nothing to show, i really dont have any idea why my wheel is not working correctly
