Street photography on Belgium's National Day 2023. A lovely walk in the city center with the one and only, Jeremy de Salle. A pretty busy day with lots of people but happy with the shots taken and with the quality time spent with Jeremy. Vive la Belgique, vive la photo !

Nice as always, lots of great shots, love the scene & photos with the tank ( amazing no. 5 👊), no. 7 is just fun, the dog in no. 13 is so nice, saw you waiting to get the background in no. 14 and..... a lof of food, important too 😉

Thanks a lot ! I could have done better with the spiderman shot. I feel I could do better with framing, the angle of the shot or the compression of the background :)

I enjoyed the video. Some very nice shots. I've been in Bruges a few times on 21st July and there are good picture opertunities there too.

What gear do you use to shoot the videos in the beginning?
Hi there ! I made a separte video on this called : How I shoot my intros . There are all the details there :)
Sensory overload of an event and milling crowds make for challenging conditions, but you did well, Octavian. Was the opening clip w/the smoker shot at a different/cooler time - folks seemed dressed for cool weather and the smoke could have been his breath?
Faves include 5 (tank), 9 (red on red -nice capture), 12 (proximity) and 30 (lady w/hat). Yes, more street than documentary.
Those were huge servings of fries - did you eat them all?😊
Most holidays here in the US are celebrated commercially with “big sales”; is the same true in Belgium? Cheers!
Thanks Paul ! Yes, you are right (and probably the only one to notice) the clip with the smoker was shot beginning of May in Brussels. Oh those weren't huge. I ate every single chip indeed. They were GOOD ! In Belgium we have two big sales months (one in the winter and one in the summer).
Hi again Octavian. Been watching some of your videos. I notice that in many pictures, you don't show the person's face. Is this on purpose because you prefer the mystery, or because of copyright laws? Do you keep in the back of your mind what the laws in regards to street photography are, or you don't think about it?
Hi again Luis! Thank you for watching the videos. To answer your question, it’s a bit of both to be honest. Really depends on context and country where I photograph. Sometimes not showing faces makes the picture more appealing :) cheers

Hi Nikolas ! I used a CANON R5 with a 50 mm 1.2 RF lens. Also, I have dedicated video on the channel called : How I shoot my intros, there are more details there in the video ! Cheers !
