Another really enjoyable collection of images. My favourites: 5 (pink silhouette), 11 (stripes and head on T-shirt), 26 (parked van with driver's foot and reflection) and 30 (sofa and bus in blue)
I could watch your intros all day long Octavian.... messmerising. NY seems to be a image rich environment in that light. No wonder it is the Mecca for street photographers. Please dont be seduced and abandon Europe though ! Read before, New Yorkers seem to be oblivious to photographers or at least do not mind having a camera pointed at them... Fabulous as always... Thank you 🙂

Some of my favourite shots from you. I can't decide which one I like the best, and I am only into 9 minutes of the video. The man behind the pink sheet, both versions ;then the hand from the jewellery store.
Thanks a lot DebiSen. I am glad you enjoyed the videos. I don't know if there are my best shots but for sure New York makes the job easier and offers more opportunities then other cities out there :). The pink sheet is my favourite as well :) Thanks for watching !

New York is great for street photography :) Never had any problems, people don't give a damn about being photographed. It was just the vendor on the 2nd video, on the rainy day in NY. People don't have time to be aggressive :)
I really enjoyed your take on New York as a first timer there... never been - and am inspired to go... did you zone focus or use AF? Thanks in advance...
yes, there are most likely some of your best shots, here. NYC is in my opinion an extraordinary place for street photography, an inexhaustible source of inspiration and interesting situations. Too bad the distance and the costs for us Europeans. Molto bravo
Hi Octavian, I'm a follower from somewhere close to the beginning I guess. Are these the best shots ever? Not nessecarily but ... I like that you are expanding your horizon. And there are defenitly a couple of great ones in this video. 23, 33, 43 (is that a coincidence?) Everything humanly possible is on the streets over there, so keep it going, please. I really like your take on street photography, It inspires me.
Hi Luuk :) Thank you for your thoughts and for watching the channel for a very loong time :). I am glad you find it inspiring. The 2nd part of my video I was shooting on rainy days therefore not the same style or approach but still, it's a city that offers so much in terms of street photography :) Thanks again ! Cheers. !
If anyone is wondering if NYC is really like this to shoot: yes. He didn't get lucky. It's like this all the time. Almost no one cares if you take their photo. The light is bonkers most of the time. Cops writing Mario a citation is a very normal type of thing to see. I wasn't in the least but surprised to see a thong and a gorilla in the same shot. It's everything, all the time, every day. I've been shooting here for years and it'll never stop being amazing. Do yourself a favor and visit. Better yet, just move here on a whim. Destitution is better than missing it! It's hard to choose ... But I think the poster hanger tickling the flyer girls neck was my favorite shot. Buncha good stuff though.
I fully agree with you ! NYC is a crazy place, specially for street photography. I would love to spend a week there ONLY to shoot street photography. I had 2 days of rain (but still enjoyed it). It's a madhouse.
Merci Edgard ! :)
You did a great job! I very much like what you came away with. AND thank you for eating pizza the proper way...in your hands, not with fork and knife LOL
Hi Kevin ! You are probably right, but keep in mind I shot by myself in NYC :D and not in Brussels. I don't take it the wrong way, feedback is always appreciated it :) . I will shoot alone more from now on hehhe :)
Looks like you survived The Big Apple, city that never sleeps, Octavian. Venue challenges with sensory overload, but you kept your cool and came away with a fine collection of images. Favs include 2 (head holder), 6 (proximity), 4 (shadow), 11 (graphic stripes) and 21 (reflections). Overall, the kinds of images are simply your style and vision and you can capture them in any major city, IMO. Your channel posts prove it. NYC simply adds a multiplier of situations rather than situations unique to NY. I think I understand why your intro of Brussels - to illustrate a different tempo. Still, it seemed a tad out of place - perhaps a side by side split screen would have been a better call (picky, picky). Good choice of music for NYC, and background chatter. (Overexposed segments should have been edited out, IMO.) Don’t recall seeing the Subscribe closer, but a nice touch instead of the usual host voice statement. Let’s see - pastry, ice cream, and pizza. Health food. Full time in NYC is ultra expensive - a highly competitive market w/lots of street photographers. Not really ideal for your style, IMO😊. Cheers!
Hi Paul ! Thank you for watching and can't wait to hear your thoughts about the 2nd part, the rainy and dull NYC :) I feel NYC offers more situations and more characters than all other cities I visited so far (and people don't seem to be care if they are photographed ... oh well not ALL the people - see the 2nd part) . The overexposed bits were BURNT to max, that's what I could get out of it. Regarding the intro, you and Jeremy have pointed out that is out of place and I agree but I had some videos filmed and wanted to have a 'traditional' intro, and yes you are picky but that's good :) The food wasn't great, I was a bit disappointed :) we have way better and tastier food in Europe :)
Maybe I’m jaded because I’ve spent my entire life in Manhattan but I don’t get these shots. Sorry. 😞 Also, I don’t appreciate how the woman waived you off but you took the shot anyway. For you we’re all subjects I guess but it’s rude.
Hi Frank ! There are people visiting Brussels and get better and different shots than me, I have been living here for 11 years now. Probably it is the way of seeing a new city, we are more curios and probably more focused. I was not sure about that shot, it wasn't really about the subject but more about the light and more about that hat. Sure, if it's on the street and if I find it interesting, it is a subject for me. If I find that it's denigrating I will not take the shot. Cheers and thank you for watching the video !
@@OctavianCarare Yes, new eyes. True. I’ve never stepped foot in either Staten Island or the Bronx. Maybe I could find a photo subject there but I’d probably be killed in the Bronx. 😞
Your sense for the right moment makes you independent of location. I still think your pictures of the dancers are the best
Thanks ! I am not sure about NYC being overrated. It was my first time there and I have the feeling it's unique and extremely rich for street photography. I will give you my final thoughts after 2-3 more visits there :)

Merci Edgard ! :)
Thanks !
You did a great job! I very much like what you came away with. AND thank you for eating pizza the proper way...in your hands, not with fork and knife LOL
Thank you Judy :) Well I didn't know there is another way to eat pizza :D
Hey mate, your videos are better when you shoot by yourself. Less blabla, more photos. Hope you don’t take it in the wrong way. Nice shots here
His videos are not always in this way: some short vlog time and pov?
Btw, always love your photos, @octavian
Hi Kevin ! You are probably right, but keep in mind I shot by myself in NYC :D and not in Brussels. I don't take it the wrong way, feedback is always appreciated it :) . I will shoot alone more from now on hehhe :)
Thank you ! Different cities, different videos, different vibes, different pictures. I guess you are right :)
Do you use presets? is there anywhere we can download them?
I have my custom made presets :)
Hello from Brussels ! Where do you shoot here ? Are people annoyed ?
Hi there ! I don't get it :) If the people are annoyed in Brussels or in New York ? :)
@@OctavianCarare oh, yes, I was thinking about Brussels. Sorry
Sa doit changer de Bruxelles. 😉
Ah oui, quand meme :) hehe
2! 4! 11! 14:) 29! 33! 43!
Thanks ! :)
31st. 2023 but could be 1973.
True ! :)
NY is completely overrated, your pictures are independent of the city or country.
