As a 14 year old, becoming more fascinated with music and interested in percussion, Taylor Hawkins was an idol. Not only because of his drumming, but his admiration for drummers before him, helped open my eyes and ears to so much more music in general. A legend who will never be forgotten. RIP dude.
This guy inspired me to play drums and went on to influence all of the music that I loved growing up. This one hurts. Thank you for the inspiration and the joy; I hope you're at peace. It was a blast, RIP Taylor.

My step Dad introduced me to a drum kit when i was 4 years old. We also listened to Nirvana and Foo on the way to and from school. My Step Dad, not my real Dad, was a big part of how i was introduced to percussion and Taylor Hawkins himself. He passed away at 47 while at work in a mine here in Australia, and one of the things that his 2nd in charge said at his funeral was "the man just non stop talked about Dave Grohl and this Taylor guy". This music was what got my Dad through 47 years of life, and its what will get me through 48. May you rest in peace mate you touched the hearts of more people than you could ever imagine
