Freddie was hounded by a ton of accusations by opportunists that proved false when he was already at a low point, and a lot of the people pointing the finger, like Phillip Schofield who were just creating noise to cover their own 'troubles'
@eltonlovell9898 wasn't Freddie arrested as part of that dreadful operation Yewtree, the police clamp Op that investergated Jimmy Saville. Of coarse Freddie and many others stars were proven innocent but it did have a knock on effect on them all.
Freddie was fabulous, but also Des O'Connor was the consummate entertainer. He paid his dues on the stage and, when he became one of the top talk show hosts, he had the talent to act in skits like this with his guests, usually playing the grumpy, bossy straight man, yet he was obviously one of the sweetest, happiest people around. So generous at shining the light on others and supporting them.
The host des O, Conner, is a terrible giggler. I fixed his dishwasher years ago. I was laying on the kitchen floor looking under the machine when he came in wearing his bathrobe. He asked if I wanted a coffee and then stepped over me to reach a cup. I said "oh, that reminds me, I need to get some sausages on the way home". He was in tears. We sat and chatted for about 10 minutes and we were both exhausted from laughing too much. A genuinely down to earth guy.
According to his own daughter he was an abusive father he died on the run in Spain hiding from uk authorities due to multiple claims against him....he's another Jimmy Savile mate.
I was fortunate to have seen him three times and it was hilarious value for money every time untill the woke brigade destroyed him and everyone else that dosn't fit their new world order ! 👍🙂
Freddie Star sings Elvis absolutely brilliant and as also sung with the jordanaires and they were gobsmacked at how well he sounded like Elvis. Have alook for Freddie Star doing Elvis theres videos on RUclips
Freddie was adored by many. He once turned up at the FA Cup final in his Adolf Hitler Jacket and knee length shorts shouting at the crowd to get out the stadium as the game had not started yet!
You know when it's a great video when Eclectic Beard is wearing a T-shirt with your favourite band on & he's laughing so much that he caused the screen to glitch out, nice one Freddy
Des O'Connor was a support act for Buddy Holly on his UK Tour 1958. Booked as a comedian, he had to sing at the Bradford gig because of a local byelaw forbidding comedy on a Sunday!
I worked in casinos in the UK in the late 70's and all of the 80's. Freddie was a very quiet man away from the camera - he would come in and play Punto Banco (also known as Baccarat) for the evening and you wouldn't hear a word out of him. Of course, all of us croupiers recognised him, but you have a job to do which doesn't involve chatting to celebrities.
He was from Huyton in Liverpool. …where I come from. Every year he would play Southport Theatre, and we went 4 years on the trot to see him. The best I’ve ever seen! The world is a darker place without him. RIP Freddie! 💗💕
A definite one off...he used to live around the corner here in Prenton.....I wonder if he, Benny hill and Ken Dodd are having a good laugh by the pearly gates....?
I saw Freddie live once in the 80s. SO funny. Another imressionist who sang his own version of 24 Hours From Tulsa is Stevie Riks. He also did a great version of Gary Numans" Cars."
Can you imagine how much it would cost to see all these stars in Las Vegas, You got them all and a Laugh and still afford Chicken an chips in a basket 🧺.
Love Freddie Starr.great entertainer.his audience with shows are classic & interview with parkinson with Muhammed Ali was hilarious. I live in the same area that he came from.
Des o Connors autobiography was one of the best I have ever read, well worth ago. I saw Freddie Starr many years ago live, and yes his humour is old fashioned but very funny. Just never sit in the front row.
saw Freddie Starr in Blackpool as a kid on North pier i think 3 rd row Mum and dad made me wear a lime green jumper ..Yes he spotted it ..one of the funiest nights i had with the family
Hi EB, i agree with an earlier comment who said his originall impersonation of Mick Jagger on the Royal variety show is much better than the one u just watched. He stole the show with it in front of the Royal family.Just key in Freddie Starr impersonates Mick Jagger when u can.All the Best.
Check out "Eric & Ernie with Des O'Connor" video from the 1975 Morecambe & Wise Christmas Special. They had a long running joke about mocking Des O'Conner as a singer. Back then, everybody's mother used to have some Des O'Conner LPs.
Poor Freddy...He went from being a top line entertainer, to a penniless, ill, recuse in Spain. He was implicated the Yewtree Investigations (child sexual abuse). Even though he was not charged, the press hounded him and the general public turned their backs on him. He ended up passing away form a heart attack , in Spain, on the 9th May 2019. He was living alone at the time and deep in debt. RIP Freddy
React to Des O'Connor and Stan Boardman - This is Your Life skit.....Des O'Connor show was shown live upto that point....show was aired pre-recorded afterwards.
Another crazy clever man from Birkenhead -- Paul o grady was from the same town . I had the pleasure of living there and you can meet one around every corner ! Great sense of humour . When my son comes to visit he still lives there . I get anotherwonder ful couple of days with him always up for a laugh , does a great take on Freddy Mercury !
I remember going to a club in hulme manchester ,55years ago with some mates for one of their stagdoos, i had not heard of him then ,he came on dressed as tarzen and swung over the table on a rope,he was fantastic ,great entertainer ,but not a very good husband
What happened to this man at the end of his life is unforgivable.
Please do tell!
@hacgarimman9660 I beleive he was found living all alone, slumped his favourite chair at home, four days after he had died.
Freddie was hounded by a ton of accusations by opportunists that proved false when he was already at a low point, and a lot of the people pointing the finger, like Phillip Schofield who were just creating noise to cover their own 'troubles'

Freddy Star singing Vincent is a classic and worth watching
The Vincent you watched previously was the wrong one. There is a better one. Vincent routine - 93.
The man was a pure one off, there could never be another Freddie Starr…….👍💪🇮🇲😜

You lucky bastard I only wish there were stars like that now but I can't think of one who I would call a true star ! 👍🙂
Great story
Brilliant! That's just as he comes across on TV
You must be very flat to lie under a dishwasher 🤔
Freddie Starr was comedy gold , I was blessed to have seen him on the TV for decades
He ran on Duracell batteries 🤣
We grew up watching this guy had the whole family in stitches..🤣🤣
I saw Freddie live once. What an entertainer he was. Legend.

I loved Des O'Connor. The way he used to get helpless with laughter always had me joining in.
Who else could get away with a song called 'Dick-a-dum-dum'?
RIP 'Dimps'
Des knew how to take a joke. he was always great on Morecambe and Wise
Freddie Star sings Elvis absolutely brilliant and as also sung with the jordanaires and they were gobsmacked at how well he sounded like Elvis. Have alook for Freddie Star doing Elvis theres videos on RUclips
The problem these days is that comedy was killed by all the snowflakes that took offense to everything.
You're not wrong!
Freddie was adored by many. He once turned up at the FA Cup final in his Adolf Hitler Jacket and knee length shorts shouting at the crowd to get out the stadium as the game had not started yet!
Freddie's Vincent skit is hilarious where the backing trak keeps speeding up and slowing down.
You know when it's a great video when Eclectic Beard is wearing a T-shirt with your favourite band on & he's laughing so much that he caused the screen to glitch out, nice one Freddy
Des O'Connor was a support act for Buddy Holly on his UK Tour 1958. Booked as a comedian, he had to sing at the Bradford gig because of a local byelaw forbidding comedy on a Sunday!
now that is incredible - religion shit it
Freddie Star just brilliant.

I’ve never heard of Freddie Star but ai know Des O’Connor from his many trips to Australia. He had so many hilarious stories to tell!
He was from Huyton in Liverpool. …where I come from. Every year he would play Southport Theatre, and we went 4 years on the trot to see him. The best I’ve ever seen! The world is a darker place without him. RIP Freddie! 💗💕
For about 5 years Freddie Starr was the funniest man on the planet!
A definite one off...he used to live around the corner here in Prenton.....I wonder if he, Benny hill and Ken Dodd are having a good laugh by the pearly gates....?
He's hilarious, I remember watching him do Max Wall..lol
I saw Freddie live once in the 80s. SO funny. Another imressionist who sang his own version of 24 Hours From Tulsa is Stevie Riks. He also did a great version of Gary Numans" Cars."

Good ole Freddy 💙💎🕊️
When Elaine Paige and her dog and Freddie were on Des was one of my favourites, although he was always great.
Two Legends of British TV....RIP to Tom and Freddy
LOLl! Wrong O'Connor, this one is Des(mond) not Tom!🤣
Freddie star a true legend he is missed.
Can you imagine how much it would cost to see all these stars in Las Vegas, You got them all and a Laugh and still afford Chicken an chips in a basket 🧺.
Freddie Starr is the only comedian that can make me PMSL. His impersonation of Mick Jagger is spot on.
Love Freddie Starr.great entertainer.his audience with shows are classic & interview with parkinson with Muhammed Ali was hilarious. I live in the same area that he came from.
Seen him a few times, amazing side splitting

O.M.G Freddy Star was hilarious, O waw I can't believe that I'm first 🤭👍🏴
When he was young, a lot of his body moves were like wrestling moves - he was so versatile.
