  • The first feature film to be produced in the new 3-strip TECHNICOLOR!
    Set shortly after Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo, a showgirl woks her way into a well-to-do family only to see the lives of her and those around her destroyed.
    Star Miriam Hopkins was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her performance. Also appearing are William Faversham, Frances Dee, Cedric Hardwicke, Billie Burke, Alison Skipworth, Nigel Bruce, and Alan Mowbray.

      While there were a few uses of 2-strip color (red & green) in film and some short films using this newer technique, this was the first feature length film to use the 3-strip process. (Red, green and blue)
