  • This process applies to any new Toyota with the new Safety Sense 3.0 and the 3 part multi-information display. Don't ask me why Toyota hid the settings menu but here is how to find it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've owned a 2023 Highlander Hybrid for almost year. Have read and reread the 500+ page owner's manual, to no avail. Finally this video showed me how to change things. It may be the least intuitive thing anyone, not just Toyota, ever came up with. But now I know how, finally. Thanks!

You're absolutely correct, Steve. The Mid screen is not intuitive at all. The screen in our '21 Passport Elite is much easier. I've literally spent hours trying to get it set up the way I want it & then figuring out how to get to things like resetting trip odometers or mpg widgets & I just get lost.

Thank you very much for all the videos, especially this one. A few days ago we bought a brand new Toyota Yaris cross 2024. And you helped me a lot! Greetings from Bulgaria!

This is a very consistent complaint on the RAV4World forum. People can't figure out how to navigate through the MID setup or how to get back to a certain screen. You do such a good job of explaining things in all of your videos, Steve. Would you please do an in depth teaching video on the MID? I believe it would be one of your most helpful videos, especially to those of us who aren't very tech savvy...

Thanks for this video, you save me much frustration. The handbook that came with my car was just plain wrong.

I can’t get my head around this centre screen setup menu thing in the multi-function dash at all. I’ve spent hours in my 2023 RAV4 playing with it, and just can’t see what it does. I’ve even been back to the dealer to get them to try and explain it to me. Great car, but terrible bit of software interface.

I want the heated seats to be in off position when I restart my car. I am forever having to reach over and turn off passenger seat when it had been used but then not reoccupied. Is there a preference setting for this. Loved this in my Tahoe!!!

Steve, my new Grand Highlander must have a SpeedCamera warning feature in the nav system, yes? It isn’t working and I can’t find and controls to turn it on. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for showing how to get to setting mode. My question is how to get out of that settings mode. I have that 'Settings' - [ok to select] in the center of screen. But I could not make it disappear! Please help!

Press and hold the select button and once the brackets appear, use the up or down arrows to select anything else to display

Steve, I have done all of these things, but the settings for the MID don’t “stick”. I have optioned in trip info and tire pressure on the right. Once I turn it off, I lose the tire pressure, and all I have is trip info. On the left side, the compass disappears if I turn on Apple Maps. Then it switches to turn by turn. It’s already on the big screen and I don’t need redundancy

For some reason, the tire pressure will not stick. My friends at Toyota can’t figure that one out but they have brought it to the attention of the engineers. The compass has weird interactions with the nav and Apple Maps. Try Google maps maybe?

@@TrainerSteveClifford thanks Steve. I feel like I have a pretty good handle things. I even figured out how to have the main screen have a tachometer. Nothing like a cheapskate like me watching the engine turn off while driving 70 on the interstate. Love it!
