I think there's a defining point between nostalgia and things that are just timeless, I personally never cared much for the way the latest zeitgeist has romanticized nostalgia and became a niche market, it kinda seems like a sugar coated way of saying "outdated" and it's more like, just because I grew up listening to a certain album that's now 30 years old, it doesn't have to mean it's got nostalgia qualities maybe it's just good music

That's a worthwhile distinction to draw- oddly enough, I find that most timeless stuff isn't nostalgiafied. And it doesn't need to be, because it doesn't age

With any sort of content or creator that has a large fanbase it will cultivate a community that gives the most polarized and loud individuals the soap box. The separation between fanbase and the creative work or individual is an issue I’ve dealt with for ages and has kept me from making content. The fact is regardless of what u make with the internet if it gets big you will cultivate undesirable fans. I do agree, as an ARG consumer, that the reliance on reaction channels to consume that content does suck. But with the social media landscape pushing quick and easy short form content that requires little to no effort to consume it will only make it harder and harder to push narratives or any content that requires effort to enjoy fully. So I do think bigger channels serve the purpose of making that content more palatable. I do have my own personal disagreements with some of the claims throughout the video but those are more-so my own personal ideals and I’m far less verbal about it. I came to this video for the wendigoon stuff ofc and admittedly I am someone who likes his channel for the Christian undertones because I personally find using Christian themes for narratives to be more impactful personally and seeing Christianity depicted outside the close minded circles I have experienced it in is refreshing. I don’t think it’s fair to criticize him for not swearing in his video covering ur work as ultimately it’s his belief system and just as (based on my 40 or so minute perception of you) you wouldn’t compromise your beliefs or views for the purpose of pleasing others. Overall your video was well spoken, although thematically a little chaotic, and your subjective experiences and views I found to be insightful and even with some contradicting my own beliefs I can firmly agree on a shared dislike for the way vhs and vintage recording methods have been used nowadays in content.

After getting most of the way through the vid, i think this is an unfocused, although insightful rant.
I feel like you should consider scripting some things, because while you are generally agreeable from my perspective, i am still wondering what exactly the connection between wendigoon and the reactionary mindset. Im sure his community has those people, he isnt media trained, and doesnt really know how to build a solid community, perform accurate and verified factual research.

None of my videos tend to have any sort of focus or central statement- I just sorta go on a stream of consciousness list of observations I've made and then edit out all the dead air, trying to keep it under an hour. My ultimate conclusion, I guess, is that there is no connection between Wendigoon himself and the Reactionary mindset.

My only gripe with him is that he uses the phrase “and such as” in place of “etcetera.” Not sure if he still does that, but it was enough to make me quit watching him back in the day.
