I've had my Z Fold 4 for 4 days. I'm completely in love with it! I got a 512 GB model with the pen and a pen case for $1500 after trading in a cracked Note 9. I find myself using the cover screen alot too. However, I see that as a positive instead of a negative. To me, that means that the cover screen is really good. Kind of funny how you complained about having to carry an S pen around and said that you finally just left it at home, but had no problem dragging a IPad around.
I do agree that Samsung should find a way to include built in storage of the S pen like the S22 Ultra, but there are a few cases which store the S pen on the right edge of the case, that really isn't inconvenient.

I was happy with it from the day I took it home and still damn near smile every time I unfold it. I could never go back to a slab style phone and to me the price tag was 100% worth it. I will be upgrading when the Fold5 is released because to me the Fold4 is honestly much of the same and they need to include 45W charging as well. That's probably my biggest gripe about this phone is the amount of time it takes to charge it. Anyways if anyone is on the fence GO FOR IT. I work construction and this phone has held up GREAT. As someone who has a ton of Samsung products along with Apple products, I think they deserve a lot of credit for their ecosystem. By using Phone Link you can basically use all of the apps on any up to date Windows computer, easily transfer files between the Samsung phone and computer, and transfer calls as well. You can do the same on a Chromebook to my knowledge. This means that you can potentially spend less than the cost of a MacBook Air and get both a good computer and phone which work very well with each other. Smart Tags are basically the equivalent to Air Tags.
Also for light users, the Fold 4 can functionally replace a laptop when home. Dex can connect to a monitor and a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. A cheap USB C dock can power the entire setup while allowing the phone to charge. This means that for a ton of people, the Fold 4 can be their phone, tablet, AND computer.
Finally, Samsung listed prices usually drastically drop a few months after launch. Even though it has a high price tag right now, I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets down to $1500 by November (still high, but not nearly as bad).

So when I saw the 1tb option at 9 am of the pre-order launch and I could get $900 trade in value. I jumped on board!! I got the watch 5 pro also. I put my $300 credit towards the watch. With the discounted price for the pre-sale I believe I got the watch for about $75. What a steal(deal) lol. I don't miss the zoom yet. The 30 x zoom is pretty good on the fold. I use Samsung notes for my work as a contractor. I actually loveeeee the bigger spen. It is so much easier to hold and work with. I got a Supcase, where the pen is stored inside hinge protector. It is awesome,!!! It seems like a very protective case. The only thing I worry about is dropping it and how much of a hit the screens will take. The case is much better than the Samsung case for protection and it is much easier to grip and hold this beast of a phone. So far I have no complaints!!! Everything has exceeded my expectations. I agree with you, the front screen is great. It is actually easier to work with one hand than the note because it is narrower. They could go even a touch wider to give a even more usable front screen and the large screen would be even more square. When you are playing your game, have you tried turning the phone on its side, then the screen is wider and doesn't cut off as much. Plusssss with this Supcase, the hinge protector is a perfect spot for you to rest your 2 middle fingers to help support this beast in your hands,, lol. Plus the Samsung ecosystem I would say is pretty close to Apples. Like someone mentioned you probably already have a lot of their products in your home which makes the system more streamline. They just need a Homepod competitor to compete in that arena

I think it is great for people who are using a lot of productivity apps on the go.
It's better to carry one phone which you can slide into a pocket instead of using one phone and additional tablet for the largest screen.

I'm an S22 ultra user, and I think that for me the technology needs to advance more, for me to buy a fold. I think the fold is a great device if its your only device. But for someone with multiple devices that still work, you don't need that two in one functionality. As for technology, I want higher resolution on those screens, as per my S22 ultra. And for the crease to disappear. An S pen in the phone itself? Why not!

But I love the firm feel in hand. The camera is okay I guess, my note 20 ultra feels better in photo details when zoomed in. Guess fold 5 would fix this as so many Chinese foldables are better in hardware and stuff.

Samsung ecosystem is AMAZING. I have the Tab S7+, Galaxy Watch 4, Buds pro and A51 phone, SmartTags and a Samsung TV. They work together very well for synced notifications, alarms, notes, reminders; The Buds switch automatically between devices whenever you play content, there's app continuity between phone and tablet for Notes and Samsung Browser, Universal clipboard, Multi control and Second Screen between Tab and Galaxy book, quickshare, synced Gallery, using others devices to make calls with the sim card in another device (I make, answer and decline calls from my tablet), casting content to the TV is super easy and you can get notifications on the TV as well, native Universal Passwords using Samsung Pass, if one device connects to a WiFi network other devices will also connect automatically (e.g your Watch will connect to whatever network you have saved on your phone), etc.

I'm writing this on my Z Fold4. Three days in im really enjoying it, and I'm an iphone user since 2008. I tried a Galaxy S3 through frustration at Apple's tiny screens but quickly went back ri the iPhone 5. I've had a new iPhone every year since the 3G, except the most S year of all when I skipped the XS. I'm totally bored of ihe Phone and iOS. Last year after having the 11 Pro Max and then 12 pro Max I went 13 mini as the Max still isn't usefully big enough. Thus year I'm so unexciting by the 14 rumours that I decided to ditch my 14 Pro plan and go Z Fold4. Next I'll ditch my M1 iPad Pro 12.9" as my iPad mini 6 is better in most ways and ipadOS 16 is a joke. I'm not leaving the Mac any time soon, but Apple really needs to unleash the iPad and start innovating with the iPhone as they are stagnant and boring right now..

I have the fold 4 and the S21 Ultra. I Disagree with your view on the camera. The fold 4 takes great pictures but it is not as good as an S21 Ultra or S22 Ultra. It struggles in up close photos when you are trying to take a picture of a serial number from 2 inches away, you have to use the 3x zoom and back up. The Ultra has a built-in macro that switches automatically without any issues. There are some other things with the camera too, that is the one that I notice the most. There is also a weakness with the zoom feature, the fold 4 and the IPhone 14 pro Max share that. I have been in the cellular sales for several years as a disclaimer.

I have a Tab S7+ and S22U that cost a similar amount to the Fold 4 (retail in the UK), and the Tab does all that you say but better as it is more extensive. It also has a massive advantage with the attachable keyboard and, for media, a much better aspect ratio. Yes, the Fold4 can do stuff okay but is def compromised for total productivity and no way I would get the Fold over my setup as it would cost me productivity; 75% of my workflow needs a keyboard, and on the road, setting up a Bluetooth keyboard just does not work.
The Fold4 is an inferior solution, but because it is new and shiny, people grab onto it. Running my own business, the best tools are the only tools, and I would fail my customers with the Fold4. I am glad it works for you and am just showing the other side of the coin.

I've started playing more games on my phone because the screen is huge but pocketable. If you use your phone for entertainment purposes then this is definitely a phone to consider. I am leasing the phone with spectrum mobile for 2 years and it costs $150 per month with unlimited which is much better than paying $1700 up front. It's completely worth it to me.
