Hands down the best riding in the UK that nobody knows about or they didn’t until recently. Great to see people riding big mountain stuff which is the essence of MTB in Scotland especially on a fantastic sunny day. Also great to see you switch from a bum bag to a proper pack for the mountains which is a nod to the fact that the consequences are far greater and the kit needed more comprehensive. So many MTB videos show people with no kit up a mountain, terrible example to set. This video sums up what is so world class about Aberdeenshire, the sheer scale of trails and types of trails is mind blowing.
Excellent cinematography and production on these episodes! It's also great to hear the message and ethos behind them too. I'm looking forward to visiting these trails in the future and more episodes like this. Well done!
Loving these videos scotty! Aberdeenshire is a great place to live with plenty to explore, keen to try a munro now. Looking forward to seeing how you got on in D&G!
Really enjoy your content. Aways showing off incredible scenery and bringing important issues to light in the mtb world, plus there's great camerawork. A feast for my eyes as the nights draw in!
Informative, inspirational, beautiful scenery and great bike skills as always. Loving this series, thanks for some great entertainment. My list of new trails to explore is getting longer 😉
Very very very nice trail under the fir wood , the texture of earth look awsome And the fliping go pro at the end , lol Keep on going like this !!!!! Super serie, dude!!!!👍👍👍👍 To be continued 😉😉😉
Brilliant video Scotty. I live in Braemar and have ridden every trail you showed apart from mastermind. Great to see them from this perspective. Also really good to see the sustainability aspect too. 🥳🥳🥳
That bike is stunning! It looks like you've dialed it in perfectly for the terrain when watching it in slow motion 👌. Moving back to Scotland and Perthshire, so I'll add those trails on my to do list! 😍..... Great vids very inspiring 🤘
Just to nitpick, the Loch Muick descent is actually called "Streak o'lightning" because it looks like a streak of lightning ⚡when seen from a distance .
Hi The mountain at the end Beinn a Bhuird is pronounced 'Ben a Voord'. The Gaelic written names never look like how you think they will be pronounced. One thing to remember Bh or Mh at the beginning of a mountain names is pronounced V!!
Amazing .... I'm jealous of Scottish people to have such a locations in their 'backyard'. Apart of the revenue from this videos is there maybe a way to donate some money for this cause?
Awesome trails, awesome riding. But is the crappy music really necessary? And the volume? I have the volume set at 80 for your voice but have to decrease it to 20 when the music comes. It hurts! @Scotty Laughland
Ha ha ha I thought that too. Muick is pronounced "Mick" and Bhuird (as in Beinn a' Bhuird) is said "Voord". Absolutely brilliant video though and some superb drone footage.
Pretty disappointing that other people get the recognition for Mastermind. The section of trail that was highlighted for being particularly eroded has actually been fixed since this footage was filmed
Hey Jake! This wasn’t a dig at the particular section it was highlighting a common/growing problem where riders stray from the main line in a bid to make the section easier. Stoked to hear it’s been repaired, it’s a seriously sick trail too to bottom and I’m in no way meaning to offend only bring awareness to riders who perhaps don’t realise what they’re line choice is doing! Apologies if it was taken in the wrong way! ✌️
Absolutely not. You're doing a great job on presenting the trails we're lucky enough to have in Scotland. I totally didn't perceive any comments on a dig- I agree with your thoughts and attwmpted to fix the trail, to prevent further wear. Mastermind has appreared in magazine reviews and on videos, as has Ballater in general, but there was little to ride in the Ballater area before Mastermind was built. It just frustrates me that other organisations get credited when they have had very little input in the area
@@jakewarden3574 does he directly credit mastermind to the TA? No. Is what he said about the trail association in that three seconds inaccurate? No. Have they been working closely with landowners to develop the trail network? Yes. I do get where you’re coming from but if you are being accurate- this is just the general narrative of the film and it’s positive for everyone. Ultimately you’re an active part of the local riding community with loads of good stuff to offer; and by default your peers and associated trail enthusiasts welcome and are grateful for your input.
Last time I rode Beinn a'Bhùird I got major beef off two woman for riding the trail, even though they saw me coming from 60m+ away and I respectively slowed down to almost less than a walking speed 🤦♂️
Human beings are crazy. I can’t run through the mountain paths as fast as deer. Solution lets build a bike with fat tires and suspension and throw ourselves downhill. 😂
@@ScottyLaughland I usually love your videos and you seem like a really genuine person (and sick rider). The videography is beautiful, it's just that (for me) the edit us way to choppy and makes it difficult to get a sense of how it feels to ride these trails. Just my two cents. Thanks for replying and thank you for the excellent content you create.

Here’s hoping but Visit Scotland don’t even reply to messages or emails so 🤷♂️ 🙈

Dreamy trails, they look so good. I hope to ride these at some point.

Awesome to see our local trails on such a great vid. Need to work on your Scots pronunciation though… 😋

Wonderful!!!!!!

Pronunciations: say as Lock Mick not Muck. For the Mountain, it's like Ben a voord. Pesky Gaelic!
Got it - know for next time!
Brilliant video. Painful pronunciation.😜
Ha ha ha I thought that too. Muick is pronounced "Mick" and Bhuird (as in Beinn a' Bhuird) is said "Voord". Absolutely brilliant video though and some superb drone footage.
