Brilliant drone footage - really shows off the nature of the eastern hills beautifully as well as showing more realistic trail conditions (i.e. reducing GoPro flattening). Your videos have a real point of difference. ATA have done a superb job - HBR is a trail people will travel to the area specifically to do, so to improve the trail as well as make it more durable for all to enjoy is a superb achievement. I'd also like to acknowledge the landowner (Glenmuick Estate) as well. Their tolerance in allowing the trail in the first place and then for it to be improved is extremely laudable.
Thanks Wayne. Big shout to Glenmuick estate indeed, they could have easily just said no at any point, so it’s great that they have allowed this awesome project to continue😊
I luved this 1 mate . Wat a pleasure to watch . Great vid n Epic trails n gd on the ppl for makin it so much better. Fantastic ridin by u both. Thanks mate 👊🤗🤗
Jesus... That trail with the stunning drone footage wants me to travel to the rainy land asap! The trail looks so good. The maker of the drone must be happy with all of your beautiful "over the tree line" footage. Not many other on RUclips that have so much alpine mtb videos dropping so often. Keep them coming please
That's some excellent work the trail association has done there , trail looks superb and could tell you were both loving it . Awesome footage once again fella 👌
This trail has been on my bucket list since I saw it on one of your previous videos, looks even better! Piers was shredding that trail 👌. Great shots on your drone again. Another great video mate. Top notch!👌😁🤙🤙🤙
great ride and filming Andrew - defo one for the list of trails to visit when i can get up there - looks fantastic, big flow and smiles :) big up to the trail builders
@@McTrailRider cheers...i hope its soon too, it looks spectacular but I'll need to up my skills to enjoy it all and be confident with the flow -video is great inspiration though!!
@@McTrailRider hi yeah I like your mountain trails but as much as I enjoy them I can’t ever see my self doing those with my little mtb skills lol thank you for your fantastic vids cheers here’s to many more to come cheers 🍻🤘🏻
Epic edit! I think I rode it for the first time the same weekend you filmed this I saw on your strava... what a job the ATA have done as you said. Definitely the most fun trail i've ever ridden!
That looks absolutely stunning… Piers was boogieing considering he’s a little under the weather. Loving the drone footage, really highlights the pace the pair of you are running, awesome 👊💥
I’m hitting this up on the 30th, been on my to do list for months but once I seen the ATA we’re going to be doing work I thought I’d wait looks as you say phenomenal!
Looks stunning. Was up there a few weeks ago after riding Torridon and went up mount Keen - wish I’d done this one instead! Looks much more fun. Interesting to hear it was part funded by Trailforks? Glad my cash is going somewhere useful!
Hope you saved some McTee shirts for you and Piers ! Imagine a group ride drone shot with all the riders wearing them !! They really represent great destinations to ride around Scotland!
This is great. Hopefully I will be doing this trail in a about a week when visiting Balater on our Holiday to Scotland. I've sent you an e-mail Andrew, but I guess it hasn't arrived yet :-)
I wish I had open mountains like you have in Scotland to pull out the Skydio 2. Here in the North of NZ everything is covered in trees. What is more you have to get the land owners permission first and can't fly in national parks. Still cool when I can fly it.
Thanks for the video and for the TrailForks GPS file. Heartbreak Ridge was my 12yr old son & I’s first black run together. Save for the cliff at the end (which you made look easy) he rode the whole thing. So thanks for getting out there and making us aware of the route. Your pure mountain rides are a out of our league, but we’re looking forward to following your next trail cycle.
That was the first trail I took my Deviate Highlander on when I built it up. The work the Aberdeenshire trail association has managed to get done is Awesome. Big props to CRC the guys with the machinery that got the work done on the hill - top job.
Do you know where I can get that garmin mount for the top tube? I just got a garmin bike computer and find it a bit off putting on the handlebars and have looked everywhere for a top tube mount for it.
Hi, did this last week on your recommendation. Hopefully back there in early October. Expect you’ve been asked this a million times but what drone do you use? Or what would you recommend? Many thanks Ed
I’d definitely go coil, I think it suits the bike better. I’ve ridden a couple with an air shock fitted and I could feel the difference in suppleness and traction. The weight it’s also pretty low down too.
This has been on the "to do" list for ages, where is the start point? Take it you cross the bridge out of ballater onto the south deeside road? Then where?
Rather you than me is all I can say, as the punishement your bikes must take, I'd be happy to sit in my lounge and watch, even though I once had to run that trail along with a group of Para/s on a ski-ing course, whilst living in Victoria Barracks in Ballater. Them were the days, now I am too old , except to watch you fit guys do it for us. Cheers.
Good to hear that you are enjoying my videos from the comfort of your lounge. 👍 Also good to hear that you got to enjoy this stunning area for yourself back in the day.

Thanks Magnus, Skydio should really sponsor me with all the shots I get for them.
Heading there tomorrow 🤘

They have done outstanding work indeed 👍👌
That looked like a lot of fun , Andrew...thanks for sharing. Peace
Thanks for watching 👍
Superb video again. Top quality footage and top quality riding. That trail looks fantastic.
Thanks buddy
It’s so much better now, they did a great job👍 another good vid too ❤️🏴
Yep, the best just got better.
The drone footage is absolutely fantastic, great riding, trail & video 👍🏻
Thanks Marc 👍
Totally nailed that vid 🤟 love to get up there soon. Great to see what can be done when folk get talking 🤙 and digging
Hopefully this is the first of many successful collaborations to get more projects like this on the go 🤞

Wow Andrew, that trail is fantastic, best trail I seen you do? Its up there, and pierce is riding great.
Best in some ways, but maybe not the best ever 🤔
What a awesome trail !!!! And something that almost a rider like me could even try to tackle enjoyed that so much cheers 🍻 great drone footage ! 🤘🏻
It’s a really nice trail for most skill levels 👍 My girlfriend done it when she was very inexperienced and she really enjoyed it.

Was in Ballater and Braemar last week on a bloody gravel bike. :( Need to get up there again before the shite weather . Great video
I’m sure you would still have had a great time all the same.

Love that trail guys. Wish I could get over there!
Maybe one day

He certainly wasn’t holding back that’s for sure.

Never been a better time to hit it 👍
Great video man. I love the drone shots! Well done
Thanks Jake
Aw man that looks so good ! Planning to get over to Scotland next year and this is definitely on the list
I’d highly recommend it👍
That place will be like a bike mecca now you posted this, crackin video as always... my scotland trip has yet another ride added..
It already was 👍 Although I think I have very much promoted it over the past few years too.

Mount Keen is still a great ride though. I believe post of the funding was indeed from Trailforks 👍
Absolutely definitely on the list. Thank you so much for a thrilling video and ride 👍
Thanks dude
Just did this two weeks ago for the first time, was on the to-do list for ages! It's a belter, no wonder it's so popular!
One of the best 👍
Awesome! Great flow to it
Yeah, good flow on this one.
might have to travel abroad to try this one out, looks absolutely incredible.
We’ve got more like this too 👍
Phenomenal trail, would love to have something similar around here... Thanks!
I wouldn’t mind it being a bit closer to me tbh. Great trail 👍
Awesome trail and landscapes!
Agreed
Awesome stuff Andy, looks like a mega trail!
One of my favourites
Amazing footage mate, done that trail years ago but wow looking epic...Defo making a trip soon
It was great up until 2019, but then it really deteriorated. You probably got it when it was still good.
Hope you saved some McTee shirts for you and Piers ! Imagine a group ride drone shot with all the riders wearing them !! They really represent great destinations to ride around Scotland!
Of course me and Piers will be representing with the tops 👍
Brilliant. Felt like I was on the bike!! (But I would have fallen off)
You stayed on well this time 👍😜
One of my favourite trails in Scotland 🏴
Same here
Great video!
Thanks!

Got you enjoy it mate, I’ve gotten back to you now, albeit very late 😬
Hi I think i saw you today cycling, I can’t remember what the hill was called but it was me and 3 other people. I had the yellow/green voodoo
Not me today, never left the house.
Did this on Thur. Was on my bucket list for yrs..Loved every second of it (even the climb) Also did Mastermind (also a belter)
Mastermind is very very good indeed 👌

We do have it pretty good here in Scotland, although I wouldn’t mind a few more trees higher up.
Next time you're I'm the area you should definitely come and do Aboyne trails, Panic Button and Emasculation are absolute belters
I so need to get to Aboyne
@@McTrailRider ps, awesome vid as always, best MTB content on the tube

Superb.

Best possible comment indeed 👍
Nice trail that mate, made a cracking job of it. Be a nice sunset route that. Out of curiosity, what knee pads you running?
I’m running Ion k pack zip knee pads. I find them very comfortable considering the size of them.
Wow those drone shots are impressive, new drone huh?
Had it for a few months now….. game changer 👍

I wish we had abligine land owners like that , the drone show off all rock slabs.cool place.
Think it took a bit of work to get everyone on board, but thankfully it all worked out 👍
So.... doing a 150 highlander build .. Kitsuma Coil or Air?..
both have great reviews but Coil a bit heavier ...🤔
I’d definitely go coil, I think it suits the bike better. I’ve ridden a couple with an air shock fitted and I could feel the difference in suppleness and traction. The weight it’s also pretty low down too.
Yeah, Piers is under the weather. He's not wearing he's usual GMBN shirt. 😅
😂 true
