I still have this game in the wrapper but I'm going to play it today. I was delighted to see your review pop up! I feel we're getting showered with JRPGs right now and whether they're good or bad, I'm glad the genre remains popular enough for games to come out as frequently as they are.
Thanks for the review. Im still playing through it & it's been really good fun. The combat & progression are addicting. Probably the best parts for me although some of these characters are pretty well written.. it's a sleeper hit imo.
Now we need an armored core game in this style ! #AmoredCore3remaster 😉
Wouldn't mind a prequel strategy game where you try to undercut fellow Ravens or try to defend the highest bidder's interests.
Just, let's try and get those modern anthology ports first before asking for more spin-offs.

Andrias and Iscarion might be two of my favorite characters to come out of a JRPG in some time and I say that realizing how shallow character development actually was in this game.

Really hope we do get a sequel and I hope it requires more tactical decisions/strategy than this one. I enjoyed the combat but it was insanely easy to a fault imo.
Some combat depth would be appreciated, it really turns into '3 support characters to help Andrias' lmao
The game had little 'development', but the game's focus was on it's exploration. There's more weight in watching how the gang react to different events, like Iscarion slowly realising the foxes were becoming the very thing he quit in the first place.
It's so good.

I sound like I’m being really negative but I honestly loved the game.
The game is enjoyable but my only problem is that there is no maps for grinding... u get stuck with repeating story missions just to level up and its kinda tedious cuz these story maps takes time to finish but overall the game is good.
DioField Chronicle looks good but not entirely sure if I'll buy it

@@gundambassexe31 what does that mean? You don’t play demos? It’s the opening part of the game. Exactly the same as if you bought it. But you get to play the beginning for free to see if you like it.

Gameplay gives me flashbacks to micromanaging every little thing in Dragon Age 1 due to the horrendous AI, but also looks close to what I had hoped Project Phoenix would become.
Very conflicted, but the entire cast being cagey and w/o actual loyalty to the party (Zegram types iirc) does seem rather unique and appealing...
I need to play it but have to many games... Maybe I'll get it when it's on sale..

Finished it. Nice combat system but inaccurate controls at consoles. Boring story, blunt characters, addictive gameplay loop. 6/10 . Worth it on a sale
If there's anything I'd go into longer to pick apart the flaws of, it'd be the combat system. Story and Cast were the best part though lmao.

I’m glad y’all really enjoyed this one, but I can’t quite take the recommend cuz I got sooo burned on the Soul Hackers 2 review (that game is trash).
At my opinion it was not as good as the other atlus games but i had a really nice time rushing it at easy mode/autocombat to avoid repetition. 7/10 for me. Thrash is a very heavy word
About 60 hours in when I stopped, I only played that far for Saizo. The dungeon design was depressingly bad and all hang outs were at the same bar. I knew it was doomed when fighting iron masks pet and they go “let’s run” with no explanation how they got away. The whole experience was soulless at best, corporate greed at worst.
I have to disagree. Soul Hackers 2 was the most fun i had when it comes to gameplay in a turn based combat game. And everything else was good enough to even great.
Then you should stop listening to random opinions and make up your own mind.
Great detailed review Valtequen is best thing about this game. Story at times can be best part for me top 5 of best innovative ish :) games of the year hope people will discover this rough gem of a game and support devs signalling we want more sure i do :)
Honestly, I get what you mean in the review - if you give me Fire Emblem but with beautiful 4K diorama graphics, then strip out the annoying interpersonal relationship waifu stuff and focus on the grand narrative and political machinations and story twists etc., you've got me.
Glad you enjoyed it! I tried the demo and i like the gameplay.

I got the platinum the other day. It reminded me of a PSP tactics game with its streamlined approach, which is a positive for me. Unfortunately I felt the gameplay arc and story intrigue had resolved halfway thru and the back half of the game was bloated and repetitive. Would like to see a sequel expand upon what's established in this title.
I found the cast fantastic towards the middle/back half, so that was more than enough to pass on any gameplay flaws towards the end.
Please sequel.

I want this game bad just not for 59.99$ plus tax ouch 😞.
I tried to like the art style but can't get over those character models, it's jarring looking at the character portraits vs the actual models. There faces have no defining features, most simply looking like hair and clothes swap from one another.
I felt the same way about the art style of scarlet nexus every thing looked great but I couldn't get past the enemy character design. Walking bouquets 💐 lamp shades and 50's pin up legs? No... just no.. 🤦
Couldn't have been more disappointed with this game. It gets so mind numbingly repetitive, the voice actors sound like they recorded their lines while sleeping, the story is clichéd and goes in circles, there isn't a single personality among any of the characters aside from Waltaquin and the ending was laughably predictable because the foreshadowing basically slaps you in the face.
I'm sorry, I normally love this channel, but this guys voice really grated my nerves. His pacing was awful
I'm sorry, have to call BS on this review. I think I'll shed some light on the title and maybe save people some money. I bought it day one, paid full price for short, disappointing game. You don't have to believe me - check Steam Reviews. There are multitude of issues with this game. I mean you really need to try hard to land on mixed 45% positive reviews. For comparison Soul hackers 2 that I also bought - mediocre (at best) title that I was disappointed with - landed on 65% positive. By this reviewer scale - if this crap gets 8.5, SH2 must be 10/10 masterpiece.
I'm not trying to be mean, but you really need to train your voice a little bit and try to get it a little more palatable before you put out content.
