Very sad story. I had some trouble in my youth but I turned to God and changed my life around. Im 48 and now I’m saving and investing, hoping to retire in the Philippines as well. I have a trip planned in a few months to go there. Love your videos. God bless you and your family

Sad story, Monty. Life can be a hard journey. People can make all kinds of mistakes along the way. But that doesn't necessarily make them bad. Kudos to you for giving him a shot and standing by him.
Thank you Gary 😊 Yeah but he was there for me as well through the good and bad. I truly hope that he can straighten his life out. He suffers from depression, anxiety, racing thoughts that keep him from sleeping well and schizophrenia so that affects him as well
@crewfamilyphilippines I have witnessed 1st hand the debilitating effects schizophrenia has on sufferers and the stigma they face. I pray he is getting the required treatment and support needed to help him. Through a family member. I became aware of the disease almost thirty years ago. I have witnessed the roller coaster this person has gone through in their life. With the advancement of medication support services and a better informed society, with perseverance, they have managed to maintain a more settled life. I wish the same outcome for your friend.
Very interesting tale, thanks for sharing your experience. I'm 38 living in Texas and I make a lot of money but I'm in a lot of debt, trying to work hard and clear it all so I can actually start saving up money so I can early retire there in PH, I've known for sure I want to retire there by the age of 50 years ago. Heartbreaking. Nick can get no assistance in navigating the criminal justice system, Meanwhile those burning down buildings in the name of equity, tolerance and diversity are met with zero punitive response from the government. I hope to be able to meet you someday Monty. You are a solid guy. Dave from Cincinnati.
SSSSSooooo you do not believe in equality? Tolerance? Diversity??? DO you believe that white, christian males should rule over all others? You talking about people fighting for equal rights as if you would have lynched Dr Martin Luther King Jr if it were up to you... Do you know how many black and brown people are being done far worse than him by the justice system? Funny that when a black person complains about the justice system, you demons tell us to "stop crying, criminal"... But when its one of yall.... "ooooohhhhh the justice system is so unfair and corrupt". Guess Trump has taught yall well. Im glad he cannot come here... one less colonizer here pretending to be human. But anyway... I want to know how you answer my first three questions... WS burned down entire cities in the name of supremacy... Bet you would love to be able to do that now huh?
What does civil protest have to do with Nick’s condition. And how has their protest impacted his life or denied him any opportunity. Based on the story, Nick had support of several people and made choices at an early age that affected his entire life. Maybe the fault lies with his irresponsible, alcoholic parents who abandoned him at a critical time and age while providing zero resource or support after he turned 18. No Black or Brown people were mentioned anywhere in the narrative. So maybe shelve your racist tendencies for a moment to just feel compassion and empathy for a human with a good heart but bad luck. Hope he gets out and is able to realize a portion of his dream before he goes toes up. Good luck 🍀 Nick! From a concerned Black person.
@@elmoelbow TheInvisibleAmericanMan is just a Trumpanzie that needs to point to black people at any opportunity he can find. He wants to reach back to a peaceful protest, but I guess thats because those that participated in the terrorist attack on our capital are being rightfully punished (even if the punishments are not strong enough)... Well all except for the leader of the attack.. Thats his hero, and since Trump hates black people... he hates black people too.. Most likely he has never had a black person do anything wrong to him, but I bet he has has several white ones do him wrong... Sad that he hates black people so much, but only does so because he has been taught to.
Monty you’re such a beautiful soul, you’ve been through so much, many blessings to you and your family 😊 I hope your friend Nick takes the opportunity whilst in prison to learn how to read, write, and arithmetic, also realise he’s is actually intelligent enough to be able to do so, it may help a lot with what he’s dealing with i think.

Wow. You and Nick have been through a lot. Nick could not have asked for a better friend than you. You stuck in there with Nick through thick and thin. I see you loved Nick like a son. You hang in there. You're a great person. I hope Nike gets his self together. From what you say about Nick, Nick is a great person, too. He just has some problems. Good luck, Nick. Hang in there.
My wife is Chinese and I am Caucasian American male. Soon we celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Asian women are the best, except the ones you would be lucky not to marry. 😂 All races of women have their good and not so good. Nick. Well, he's young and a man so he still will have possibilities. One huge thing is we all have to get right with the Lord. Even a wonderful woman cannot competely straighten us out. Life is rough, but keep a stoic, prayful daily life. Much better to stay calm than angry. Keep it cerebral. And stay busy. Nick gets out, just day by day build things up. But, again, keep up the prayer life.
It’s a sad story, and it reminds me of my brother. We all had a very bad childhood, but my sister and I went one way, and our brother went the other way. He’s had a life of extreme alcoholism, drugs and arrests. Always a good heart, but always an F up. I’ve tried so many times over the years to help him, but he’s now 60, and I don’t think he’s going to change his stripes now. It’s sad, but he’s a grown man and has to help himself too.
I’m sorry to hear that you guys had a bad childhood. I agree you can only do so much. They have to want to change or something tragic to wake them up otherwise you’re wasting your time. Thank you so much for watching 😊
Definitely a tragic situation without any doubt. You never know what the future holds perhaps he will be able seek the right help in prison and get out early as well. Thanks for video! God bless!❤
My partner and I had two properties, a town lot (hers) and a farm lot (mine). Her family soon moved into her yard and built a kubo then a lean-to dirty kitchen out back. I not only leased my farm off my partner but I also had a sole occupancy agreement drawn up so her family couldn't pressure her to let them build on the farm.
Such a tragic story. You’re a good guy with a kind heart and Nick saw that and hence his loyalty to you. I hope life treats him well once he gets out as you won’t be around to help him out. I like your little family. God bless you all.
Yes it is He suffers from depression, anxiety, racing thoughts that keep him from sleeping well and schizophrenia so that affects him as well. God bless you too Hurley 😊💛🙏🏻
Too bad he couldn’t explain to the court that he was not able to read the paperwork. He didn’t intend to screw up. This was an inspiring story, you are wise and I enjoy your stories!!
I can't understand why Nick wasn't literate in America. Sounds like he fell through the cracks somewhere. He probably had very low self esteem. I hope he gets some help while incarcerated . You're a good man Monty, he was lucky to have you around.🙏🏼🏝️
I had a friend from high school who gave me a similar story. I believe he was bi-polar. When he was not depressed he could get great jobs and live right. But suddenly he would go into depression and destroy his life and the lives of everyone around him. In one of his good times, he married the perfect girl. I was tempted to warn her but didn't. They had a son and named him after me. He ended up addicted to heroine and lost wife and son. On my trips from the Philippines to the USA, I would try to contact him, but he was either in rehab or living on the streets. Finally, about 10 years ago, his father called me here in the Philippines to tell me he committed suicide. I was sad, but I understood. He was never going to get his life back together was obvious. He just couldn't face living his life anymore. I was sad and think about him often, but it was the first time I realized that, for some people, suicide makes sense. It was his only way out of his hell.
I understand all to well Edwin. I hope that he doesn’t do that. I picture his mind a living hell. He suffers from depression, anxiety, racing thoughts that keep him from sleeping well and schizophrenia and he’s bipolar so that affects him as well
Another simple but good video. Look forward to meeting you. Have some things in common and some differences too, but think it will be interesting. like your respect for everyone.
Since I don't have family there maybe you will allow me to take you and your family for a nice dinner. A good meal and great company is about what I enjoy most. Hi Ken thank you very much for watching. I hope that they can apply to their lives. He suffers from depression, anxiety, racing thoughts that keep him from sleeping well and schizophrenia so that affects him as well
Nick's story is a very sad one indeed. Maybe there is stiil a glimmer of hope for Nick His time in jail may offer an opportunity for him to redeem himself. With proper counseling and the desire to better himself he can get himself a GED for starters. From there he can learn a trade. I believe it's even possible for him to get timeoff for good behavior. It's all up to Nick to pick himself up by the bootstraps and make a better person of himself. I wish him the best. Hope you can find someway to keep in touch with Nick, Monty. I believe he looks up to you as his mentor. Your encouragement and support can certainly inspire him to be all he can be. I sincerely hope things become better for you and😢 your family as time passes by, Monty I couldn't help but notice the couch you were setting on while doing your video. It appears to have nice, high back and very comfortable to sit on. How long is it? Are you satisfied with it? If you are, where did you get from? Your videos are very entertaining and educational to watch. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work.
Hi Robert thank you very much for watching. Hopefully he will do the right thing. He gets a free 15 minute call on Sunday and he calls. If he can get a job building fence he can make very good money. The couch is very comfortable. It sits 3 but normally we can fit 5 if there are kids. I bought it back when I was working I paid $600 for it from Mandaue foam in Dumaguete across from Hypermart. We are doing okay I hope that you are too sir

@@jamesquinn3051 I’m sorry to hear that she can’t get the visa. It’s not easy they want you to have a job, bank account, own land to get a travel visa. I have heard that on marriage visa the first thing they ask is if your husband dies how will you support yourself. It’s crazy.
I had a business for 10 yrs in construction like yourself. I helped a guy like you did. A similar thing happened to me. My helper was very sincere, he ended up costing me big big problems and a lot of $. I ended up getting out of bus because of the mess he brought my way. He was like family, actually I used to refer to him as cousin Col. I hope things improve for you soon. Cheers Aussie John

Hi Monty. Very sad story and I hope he can get himself straightened out and have another chance at life. I have 2 friends that were alcoholics. One with the help of his girlfriend who he got married too got him sober and the other had to go through a lot of hard life lessons to get sober. He ended up losing his license 3 times for DUI. He also got married to a good woman that helped him get his life straightened out and they have 3 adopted children now. So it can be done just have to work hard to get life back in order
Buy a little something for yourself Monty. So sorry about Nick, sounds like he's very talented. Hope prison gets him the help he needs. May be the best thing for him. He's still young.
That is sad. I feel for him, and you too. Thank you for sharing your story. I hope to get over there at some point, I'm 43. I wish the best for him, you and yours. Peace brother
Thank you very much for watching and your comment. If you’re already making a plan at 43 to make it over here you’re well beyond the curve. I hope that all is well with you and yours brother 😊
Hi Monty, your channel is one of the all time best to me, because you have great content and a very easy going personality. Keep it up. 👍😊 Nick sounds a lot like my nephew, who not only had a rough upraising, substance abuse with alcohol and cigarets, but also started having psychotic episodes of hearing voices. He’ s really a good at heart person. But my niece who was taking care of him had to take him to be admitted to the hospital phschiatric ward against his will . My heart is literally aching for him, but there was no other answer at this point. So I know how you feel Monty. Sometimes all you can do is pray to our lord persistently for them. I ll include nick as well in mine. 🙏
It's kind of ironic how the self proclaimed land of freedom is so unforgiving. I can't understand the cultural fascination from the rest of the world, really.
I have personal experience of a good person doing bad things due to alcohol and it makes you realise that just being a good judge of character is not always enough. Sometimes you judge people on their character when sober but they might be quite different when drunk.
Sad story and tragic. You seemed to be like a father and mentor to that guy and the one good positive influence that he ever had. He'll not do the full 15 years and will probably parole in about 6-7, but even so, he'll be under the watch of his PO and won't be able to travel far (let alone out of the country). Financially wise, your right, he most definitely won't have the funds to survive there in the Philippines and as a foreigner that's the last place to be if your broke. I'm on the cusp of retirement right now and my wife and I have a house in Tarlac, so we're trying to figure out if we want to stay there full time or go back and forth to Hawaii.
And people ask me why I'm 33, single, no kids, and not getting married..... I have a decent job, decent money, own my own house, plenty of money in the bank, have ladies over a couple times a month, and plan on taking a long trip to south east asia in the next year... why would I get married?
You’re probably better off single and keep saving money. I love my children dearly and couldn’t imagine my life without them. I could however imagine my life as being single until now.
Really heartbreaking. Based on your story, I hope someone can help Nick with his probation but better yet, on his case. Because, unless the stabbing happened first that the guy had to fight back and stop the attack by detaining Nick with physical force, if not, then the guy should know that he would be the one facing charges for illegal detention of Nick, and then possibly jail time.
I agree Chris no the old guy held him back and hit him with a chair. The whole house is on 24/7 video Nick got arrested the next day the detective showed up. Conveniently everything was a erased. I’m not saying Nick is a Saint but I think he was railroaded
Monty, It sounds like Nick had alcohol fetal syndrome. Look up alcohol fetal syndrome face and see if you recognise the markers. He never had a chance in life other than the chance you gave him. Without you there, he had no guidance. Monty, why wasn't a contract drawn when you transferred your fencing business over to the other party? You still have some litigation you could do.
@@crewfamilyphilippines Monty, You might want to contact a business broker. Do you have a list of inventory & tools? Comps of other fencing companies? A list of customers that were happy with your work? I would think Florida would have a big need to repair/replace fencing because of the weather and shifting land.
Yes I talk about that a lot. We all have a emptiness inside of us. Some people try to fill it with alcohol, drugs, other people and all types of bad things. Until you fill it with God you don’t feel complete. Thank you so much for watching Gerald 😊

Hi Rodel both my strokes and heart attack happened here in the Philippines no insurance. Cost about $600 for the hospital stay, doctors medication etc. MRI was $200. CT SCAN was $160. Heart sonogram was $58
Unfortunately, he dug his own grave. Made very bad decisions. Had an opportunity to salvage his life after some bad decisions but ended up back in prison. His mentality and wiring would have always lead him down a troubled path.
I have to agree with you. Unless he wants to change nothing will change. I’m not sure with his depression, anxiety schizophrenia etc that he’s capable of changing

I want to know how you answer my first three questions... WS burned down entire cities in the name of supremacy... Bet you would love to be able to do that now huh?
Don't take your son in the Philippines if he is a trouble shooter guy
Monty you’re such a beautiful soul, you’ve been through so much, many blessings to you and your family 😊
I hope your friend Nick takes the opportunity whilst in prison to learn how to read, write, and arithmetic, also realise he’s is actually intelligent enough to be able to do so, it may help a lot with what he’s dealing with i think.

Tough story! Hard to see family and/or friends go through that. All decisions have consequences, some good and some not and many of us have to learn things the hard way. Keep them in prayer!

Shifts happen. What a person does with his God Given gifts are that person's choice. So sad about Nick, Monty. 😒
Hope to meet you by the end of August next month and share perhaps a meal and coffee, as Francis @ NJST is arranging conversion of a Suzuki Every Wagon that I will be coming there to make the purchase ~ maybe you can accompany me to goto the NJST location? All this interest with the NJST Dealership is due to your influence of choice of where to shop. I watch your and Aragel's videos and am enlightened about the many fascinating places and people you two share. Thank you both, Be well, Safe Travel, God Bless to the whole Crew family. You are in my prayers to continue to improve your health, Monty. 🙏
Thank you very much Steve. I look forward to meeting you and would happily take you to NJST. It is sad about Nick hopefully he will get some help while he’s incarcerated
Thanks for sharing your story, I hope that Nick would have enough time to think through how he can better his life. I believe he misses and appreciate you!
Thank you very much for watching. Hopefully he can get some help while he’s incarcerated. He needs to make the decision that he wants help and wants to change.
Thank you very much Thomas. I will share your well wishes with Nick 💛
New sub..thanks for sharing and look forward to future vids
Thank you very much Sir. 😊
Montey I am showing my friend your video . Your a good guy . Glad your doing ok .
Thank you Kenneth 😊
God bless!❤
Thank you very much for watching as always brother. I hope that he will get some help. God Bless you 😊💛🙏🏻
May God bless him and keep him. May he be blessed with peace, wisdom and a cleansing from addictions, in Jesus name, Amen.
Thank you Michael 😊🙏🏻
Hi Monty I was so touched with your story and the goodness of your heart. Blessings.
Thank you. God Bless you. 😊
That was very smart on your part. Thank you very much for watching and your comment 😊
Such a tragic story. You’re a good guy with a kind heart and Nick saw that and hence his loyalty to you. I hope life treats him well once he gets out as you won’t be around to help him out. I like your little family. God bless you all.
Such a sad story on both your parts. You are a good man. God bless.
He should have explained it that day while he was in the probation office. Things would have been fine.
Watching again. 👍🏽❤️
Thank you so much, Eric 😊
I can't understand why Nick wasn't literate in America. Sounds like he fell through the cracks somewhere. He probably had very low self esteem. I hope he gets some help while incarcerated . You're a good man Monty, he was lucky to have you around.🙏🏼🏝️
Thank you for watching Jamrock. I truly hope that he can get some help while he’s inside.
Generally speaking people like Nick are embarrassed to ask for help.
That's quite a story, Monty!
Yes. Thank you so much for watching 😊
Thank you very much for watching Daniel and your comment. I look forward to meeting you as well 😊
Since I don't have family there maybe you will allow me to take you and your family for a nice dinner. A good meal and great company is about what I enjoy most. Asfar as watching goes, it is my pleasure. Since you educated me about added comments helping the income formula it pleases me to help you is this small way.

Thank you for sharing Monty. Your story is absolutely inspiring. Hopefully many people will use different aspects of this life lessons about Nick to apply to their own lives.
I sincerely hope things become better for you and😢 your family as time passes by, Monty
I couldn't help but notice the couch you were setting on while doing your video.
So many people fall into this same situation daily, so I'm hoping that some of them will see your video and avoid the same outcome.

Thanks for sharing. I can relate to your situation. I was a contractor and had someone like that, brilliant worker but the drugs had a massive hold on him. We can only do what we can do. He told me at least he wasn't like his parents because they were both alcoholics, he didn't get that he had chosen a different demon.

Thank you very much Joey for watching and your kind words brother

I have personal experience of a good person doing bad things due to alcohol and it makes you realise that just being a good judge of character is not always enough. Sometimes you judge people on their character when sober but they might be quite different when drunk.
Yes that's true they are two totally different people. 😞
Sad story😢
Yes
God Bless You Sir.
Thank you so much Timothy. May God bless you and yours also 💛🙏🏻
Sad story and tragic.
Hi Irish. Yes that would be a hard decision for you and your wife to make. I hope that it works out in a way that you will both be happy 😊
Great video 38 my wife is 35 my plan is to retire there
That’s a very good plan. I wish that I would have started much younger with a plan for retiring here.
God bless take care of yourself

Really heartbreaking. Based on your story, I hope someone can help Nick with his probation but better yet, on his case. Because, unless the stabbing happened first that the guy had to fight back and stop the attack by detaining Nick with physical force, if not, then the guy should know that he would be the one facing charges for illegal detention of Nick, and then possibly jail time.
I agree Chris no the old guy held him back and hit him with a chair. The whole house is on 24/7 video Nick got arrested the next day the detective showed up. Conveniently everything was a erased. I’m not saying Nick is a Saint but I think he was railroaded
what happened to the ex? thanks for sharing.
He’s fine I guess. I never talked to him much
Monty, It sounds like Nick had alcohol fetal syndrome. Look up alcohol fetal syndrome face and see if you recognise the markers. He never had a chance in life other than the chance you gave him.
Without you there, he had no guidance. Monty, why wasn't a contract drawn when you transferred your fencing business over to the other party? You still have some litigation you could do.
I did have a contact with them. I have control of it now but without being there it has been difficult to try to sell it now
I will look that up but yeah he had a very bad addiction to it along with weed
@@crewfamilyphilippines Monty, You might want to contact a business broker. Do you have a list of inventory & tools? Comps of other fencing companies? A list of customers that were happy with your work? I would think Florida would have a big need to repair/replace fencing because of the weather and shifting land.
What everyone needs is to have God and a spiritual life.
