Today, we're taking the first pass at the all new Realism Mod for SPT-AKI 3.8.0! This is the first in a series all about the Big 3 (Realism Mod, SAIN, and Donuts) to dive as deeply as we can into their in-game mechanics.
BE SURE TO READ THROUGH THE REALISM MOD DESCRIPTION ON ITS MOD PAGE, THERE IS A TON OF INFORMATION WORTH TAKING IN!
This video omits any and all applications of the Realism Mod outside of the game to protect it from being struck down, as other videos have been. The mod has numerous features that apply to the Traders, Flea Market, and time/money mechanics controlled with a desktop tool, which I am not able to demonstrate publicly on RUclips. We will be discussing these in future videos, but won't be showing footage until certain that it's safe to do so.

Finally, single-player extraction shooters are being accepted and their players not persecuted for our desire to have our games respect our time.
Well, BSG told us that they did not agree with SPT existing and that they would ban people using it. Now no one respects BSG because they scammed us, so we have no reason to listen to them lol.
To be honest i wasnt even aware this was a thing... waited all the time for bsg to implement a propper single player mode. And here it is

Fantastic review. I like how this adds the realism features and doesn't compromise the the QoL amd intuitive understanding features. As. Someone who never wanted to split myself off from the "online" features until ***recent events*** I am amazed and impressed by the community to make this game what it should have been from day one.

What and excellent showcase of SPT. I think I will consider giving this a go myself as I don't have time to spend grinding the real tarkov and would rather avoid the game with all the drama happening. Thank You Sir.

I love to hear about the cool experiences folks have in SPT.
The only thing I really had hoped to learn is whether I can download Realism and use the stances and basically nothing else, at least at first. I appreciate how much work has gone into redesigning all the systems, but I'm honestly just not sure I want to re-learn Tarkov so extensively. But those weapon stances are badass.

I did a graphics and performance video not long ago that shows almost all of my graphics configs.
For performance, I'm mostly just using Donuts to restrict bot spawns.
Do you happen to use RaidOverhaul? I’m interested in that mod but would like to see it in video format first if possible. No worries if you don’t use it. Enjoying all the hard work of all the SPT devs and SPT content creators!
I don't at present, but have gotten enough questions about it to feature it on the show soon.
So I can definitely demonstrate it for you in the next week or so, it seems like a great mod!
Loving the SPT content, watching your vids got me into trying out SPT and now im hooked again. Is there anyway to disable the healing overhaul from the realism mod? thats about the only thing that i'm not a fan of from the mod and i can't seem to figure out how to do it

Oh yeah, you can configure all that stuff in the external Realism Mod config tool, it's in the mod folder.
Make a shortcut for it in your main SPT folder for easy access.

Loving spt, can finally enjoy the game. Been watching your videos past few days . Any tips I keybinds? If B is low ready, ain’t that toggle fire mode?
I think it is by default, but I've moved it to the V key, double press.
That made the back button on my mouse the FOV Zoom key.
Then the forward button became Swap Shoulders.
Honestly, I fight with the keybinds all the time and am never satisfied!
I'm starting to think that a mouse and keyboard might be a very old way to control video games now!

I just got bodied 0-6 death streak on Ground Zero with the Realism Medical system. Got to the point I ran out of any potentially useful meds in either my stash or on Therapist, so removed it for now.
I recall in 3.7.x there was a Realism starting preset with the added med items. Might be a mod conflict blocking it since I could only select the EFT and SPT default starts?
hope there'll be a new traveler mod, was always a fun combination with realism and sain and stuff
I'm confident that we'll see it for 3.8.0, but I think it's most likely that we'll see it in the next version.
Through the Force, I can feel that 3.8.1 is approaching...
My biggest changes with the bepin settings was disabling disarming, disabling gear blocking healing since I play on a controller and didn't want to fit in a bind for it, and tripling the shotgun pump speed, might take it down to 2.5x later.
I remember in previous versions idle arm stamina drain was off by default for some reason and I'd have to keep going in to enable it.
I'm always fascinated to know that some are playing SPT with a controller.
Grew up on consoles and it took a very long time to get comfortable with mouse & keyboard.
@thestarvox Oh, I've always played Tarkov on a controller since I started back in late 2017, for a long time I played on a Steam Controller but about a year ago I switched to a Flydigi Apex 2 with ReWASD.
I often play on a TV and I gotta say, Tarkov looks real nice on the big screen
Hey man would LOVE if you made a video going in-depth about how to change bot spawns and their gear🙏🏽 I’m lvl 12 and for the past few raids I’ve been killing lvl30+ PMC bots with high gear loot and I thought realism was suppose to get bots my lvl? The discord people haven’t been much help all they say is “check config”

A few of these like the active aim sound amazing but I am too nervous of breaking my game, have around 25 mods already and there isn't quite enough to make me take the risk lol.
Also 14:16 happened to me as well.
Realism is super compatible with many other mods and almost all of its features can be configured or toggled entirely, so you might be good to go. I'd say there's less risk than you think, give it a try!

Looking forward to Fontaine updating the Recoil and Combat Stance mod which is the same stuff in the Realism mod just taken out and separated. Can't play without them so will have to stick with 3.7.6 until he does :( I use a barter system flee market which conflicts with the Realism mod which is a shame so the separation is a great thing for people.
You could always just disable all of the features that you don't want in the Realism Mod using the external config tool and in-game BepInEx menus!

Can you do a video on all the mechanics of realism mod and how to use them, like their text guide, but a video guide to how to do different things with the mod. I'm sure the mod owners would love you and I could stop seeing people ask it a million times lol.
I'm currently working on it, it's a LOT of time-consuming work and I'm having some folks on Discord help me with that, so I promise it's coming!

If you going to review SAIN again - could you show how accurate are SAIN bots on easy/normal/hard presets?
My main issue with tarkov bots is their laser like accuracy that kicks in after a second or two of them seeing/firing at you. I could stand 100 meters away and the bot once it takes a few first shots will start to just laser beam me right in to the chest with full auto 7.62 gun. The recoil doesn't exist for them, the struggle to keep aim at a moving target is not a problem for them, they are killing machines. And if you give enough time - even scavs can do this, although it takes them a lot of time to charge the "laser beam" aim. And unless you completely loose them or distract with a grenade - they will keep their accumulated accuracy even after you hide behind cover and reappear in a different spot. I tried to tweak the vanilla SPT bots myself but all i was able to do - was to increase their starting spread, but it only gives me an additional 0.5-1 second before they will get to 100% accuracy. I'm interested if SAIN bots accuracy behaves differently and just how it looks compared to vanilla SPT.
It's very complicated. The middle ground difficulty for sain is something the mod struggles since conception. The default settings turn bots into headshot machines, but dropping 1 tier level difficulty and bots become pretty stupid and slow. The only way to get that middle ground is tweaking every value manually.
@@misterymisterio8778 i will set them manually for sure, but it would be interesting to get some points of reference beforehand. Right now i am still continuing my playthrough on the old 3.5.0 SPT so i can't test them myself, but i am going to build a new setup sooner or later, so i am curious.
Also does anyone know if SAIN uses it's own values for the bots and ignores the configs from the server database or if it's just uses multipliers to modify them (and thus allowing to set specific values in server files by hand)?

man, sharpness is cranked to 100.
You can decrease the game's sharpness in the graphics settings or use something like Amand's Graphics or MeowShader to manage it even further!
1 question I've got; what are those item holders you have that you put your ammo and meds into? I'd like to know where to got the mod from since i'd like more storage.
Those are part of the Tactical Gear Component mod, super useful.

What are your SAIN/Dounts settings because mine have always hit me stupidly hard and 90% of the time get the first shot off. Does the realism mod change their behaviour?
Not as much as SAIN does, in fact SAIN would override those changes.
You'll see my configuration for that in this new series for the Big 3.
Tried out the mod for the first time. Loved it except the medical stuff. Would i be able to disable the medical items and healing??
Of course, in the external config tool.

How do you open the configuration menu in game? Also I didn’t see keybinds for high/low ready.
F12 opens the BepInEx menu.
Make sure to read through the tutorials on the SP-Tarkov site.

Be sure to read through the mod description, there's an external config tool for Realism in its file folder to control things like the medical and trader overhauls.

It's all single-player and can't do multiplayer.
There are some other mods that can, I think.

Yep, look for the Realism Mod config tool in its file folder.

That animation is the High Ready Sprint Animation, which has a toggle in the F12 menu and you can change your reload speed in a variety of ways, including with the sliders in the Realism Mod F12 menu, once again, or with something like the KMC SVM.

The lighting sometimes looks even more broken than vanilla, in the dungeons specifically
Can someone explain the painkillers on realism and how they work? I swear they don't do anything. I've never taken a pain killer in realism and thought wow what a difference - I can move again or remove tremors. Even taking morphine or AI-2 my guy seems to still moan and groan and behave the same. So what do they do?

Oh yeah, several.
I think the most comprehensive and least redundant method would be to use the KMC SVM to adjust your Skill EXP gains and more.

Sorry to be a pain but i looked and i cant find that mod manager where do you get it or is it a hotkey with one of the mods? All the mod managers i can find look different but i see you using this and klean can someone help me find it please?
That's the BepInEx menu and it's built into SPT - it's on the F12 key.
Be sure to read the tutorial information on the SP-Tarkov site.
Can you give us a complete list of mods and setting you use on paper?
The settings, maybe, but I'm currently working on that for the next SPT Show.

I see you're using realism and painter -- i bumped into an issue that i can't use mag presets to load my mags, i did use realism compatibility patch so im completely clueless as to what to do. I'm on 3.8.0
I don't use the magazine presets, actually, so I don't know if that's been a thing on my end.
has something in the live version or SPT been changed with regards to the screen wobbling when reloading or changing weapons? it seems way more intense now and for the first time ever i'm getting motion sickness from a video game lol. is there anyway to change it??

How can bind the key for High/low ready? The default doesn't work and those I put in also doesn't work. I did enable it on the on Config.exe

Using deadzone with the other mods unaligns the sight from the laser. Bullets shoot to the laser but not the sight. It looks cool but is this the proper function?
Yeah - unless there's another offset that I don't know about, it did the same for me.
It didn't always pose a problem, but I did eventually get tired of it when recording videos.
how do i install the mods? i got the client installed and i can boot it up, but there are no guides on how and where to put the installed mods.

I just use the SVM, but Dad Gamer Mode and maybe Realism Mod can do it, too.

No, unless the mod advises that you start a new profile to avoid errors.
Progress in SPT is fluid, however, and you can use mods to adjust your player level, skills, EXP gains, Trader levels, and even the quests - enabling you to restore your progress even if you have to delete your profile information, which can be backup and transferred, of course.

Looks like this is a great mod for a very specific subset of players. But otherwise it looks like it would just make everything incredibly tedious and miserable. I was hoping for some stuff that could be disabled and pieces you could choose to keep, like the intro implied. But it didn't seem like there's a lot you can just disable from the mod

There's an external config tool that you'll use outside of the game to toggle and adjust the rest of the changes Realism Mod makes to the SPT. Each of the features can be toggled or configured, so you'll be all set when you get into it.

BSG should just go full send and make their coop mode compatible with SPT mods and make it run client side. Because the only thing that could make SPT better is coop

You can play coop it is a mod called Stay In Tarkov (SIT), it is also based on SPT so you can use mods. Beware it is still in development and does have some isues.

Can you randomize how many AI PMCs will be in raid? I wouldn't want a set number. I like how in Tarkov I never know if it'll be a bloodbath with players everywhere, or quiet with me not seeing another pmc the whole time. The anticipation is great.
There are spawning waves configurations, and you can disable or extend the time between them. I guess that feels more or like how you want, but a specific mod the way you want isn't easy to find, unless you can make it yourself. Most likely it will be a hidden option in another mod.
Yep, SWAG+Donuts is designed for that very purpose.
The intent was to make SPT even more dynamic than Live.

I may be stupid, but how the hell do I mannualy rechamber? What key I need to press and where can i find keybind for this function in general? Does anyone know?
I have it set to Ctrl+R, my Unload Chamber keybind.

Is there a way to not have the weird economy system with realism? In the config tool theres nothing mentioned about trader system or flea market
Yeah there is, that's where you'd configure those things.
Right there in the "Traders and Flea" tab.

The thing that prevents me from using the realism mod is the Dealers are out of stock all the time and restocks very late and items on the flee are not available either can i fix that?
Definitely, that can be changed and toggled in the Realism Config Tool, in its mod folder.

ok so I've been configuring my playthrough with small amount of realism built into it. that said i dont know the default keybinds for rechambering and it'd be cool if someone here can help
I can’t get it to work and the spt discord is no help anybody know why? I get an error saying it can’t get information or something. I’ve tried putting the files into where there meant to be 5 times
can someone please point me in the right direction on how to add new mods etc to SPT-AKI? I've only just installed SPT-AKI, and wondering if that's all, or do I need to add more manually through github or is there a mod launcher for it (like Thunderstore)? any help or direction would be appreciated :)
You just download the mod you wish to try in the spt workshop (dont forget to check version compability), then extract it to your spt folder, is very simple.
Sometimes, mod authors leave a short guide on how to install mods

I am trying to get mods installed. I had two working but the game would not launch. I can not get into the discord because it tells me no more invites are going out.

None of it annoys me so, if you feel that way about Realism Mod, you may want to find an alternative.
I think Algorithmic Level Progression is up-to-date, I'd have to check.

In the Realism Mod folder, there's a config .exe with all of those controls.
I've been telling folks lately to make a shortcut for it in your main SPT folder for quick access.
