I know this video is a bit longer but you can’t really rush these type of videos. There is so much to explain and I really want to narrow in on details! To skip right in click 1:22. Ps. I chose to use the CLA76 over the standard waves SSL bus comp because I wanted to switch it up a bit and show how the 76 sounds, I use both but I thought this one would be cool! Thank you, enjoy!
LifeStyleDidIt how would you combine te limited from previous tutorial and the bus compression from this one? Could you maybe take the previous mixtuts into account when doing next ones? Thanx for the nice tutorial btw
AboveEmAllProduction thanks. I try to make it easy to understand. I studied it for a few years and learned from many engineers while i worked in studios and i really tried to explain it easier than just saying what it is. It can be confusing when it’s not
I like the CLA 76 and the Solid Bus but I usually only put the CLA on the kick becuz it make the kick sound like the SWAT coming through the door lol. And the Solid Bus is my go-to bus compressor everytime. Thanks so much for your knowledge bro cuz ppl usually charge for the game you giving us.
Producers have to realize that picking a plug-in is just like picking a synth sound, it's never one size fits all. Having multiple compressors, eqs, etc is needed for different tracks. Awesome vid lifestyle
About to watch it but I first wanted to say that it's crazy your fans asked you for more of that kind of videos and you respond so fast haha appreciate the work🔥
For me definitely the native instruments one because it makes the snare kinda feel better on this, combined with the kick and the warth it glues together 👌🏼
A great teacher isnt someone who can Speak in difficult words to other people that know already What these difficult words mean. But A great teacher is someone who can explain something difficult to people and replace it with words that even morons can understand. Tnx LS! But for me its A bit diffrent cuz U already thought me alot and I did alot of music theory research on my own so I do understand these words now Hehe.

Huh I’ll give this one a shot, I thought the cla was more for drums than master but I don’t follow the rules anyways lmao. Been using a waves master buss compressor or the one in ozone but I own the cla one too
Compressors were like my Kryptonite for a long time, Ive watched many vids from other Creators. You were the only one where right amid your video I got the Apifany (Ah Ha Moment) on where my issues were. Its like after you explained it in your specific way... it became like "how the hell did I not get this " before...... Thanx Much Tom Rizkov
i see you guys in the comments like CLA-76 . may i recommend to you guys the Puigchild 670 (also from waves) it has this crazy thing about seperating the stereo image by using it in lat/vert mode. the only bad thing is that it removes some of the bottom end, something youd have to make up for. but its worth it =)
rough rider's great for getting hard kicks. use mid attack, fast release, low mid sensitivity, mid high gain, then pull down on your mixer to like 20-30% for parallel compression. then follow up with a soft clipper to keep it from peaking.
I personally liked the Solid Bus Comp by NI and if you download their free Komplete Start software that's available for free it comes with NI's Supercharger tube compressor for free as well. It's packed with a ton of free sounds, loops and Komplete Control as well as boat load of sounds for the Kontakt 6 player. Dope video I'm learning a lot from you & thank you for dropping a little bit of your expertise for us to soak up.
Man CLA-76 Sound really nice and transparent. I personally have a Solid Bus from NI. I really like this compressor nice glue, nice punch. Did u recommend any "aggressive" color compressors? Peace!
Ok .. this was a great video. Loved the way you had a side by side audio comparison on how the different compressors perform. The free compressor #1 colored the bass and took it to a higher harmonic. The CLA compressor #2 also colored the bass but kept it in the same harmonic scale. The third compressor #3 slightly (if at all) colored the bass harmonic. I know this video was about your drums but truthfully I couldn't tell the difference between them
@@LifeStyleDidIt Wow? You're really missing out if you don't use maximus lol! It's like harmor but as a mb compressor, and if you dont know harmor then you are missing even more out
I ordered a RODE NT1A and my room is not treated at all and on the lowest gain on my focusrite i get reverb when I'm recording. Would you recommend the shure sm7b with or without cloudlifter
Great video I definitely have to try this. Every time a new video comes out I get an email while I’m already watching the video lol 🤣🤣 . This channel really is the plug tho for sure 🤘🏽💙

not gonna lie but from an 'engineer' perspective your whole analogy of the details of how a compressor works is spot on, well done =)

I’m trying to get better at mastering tracks. Im starting to better understand this process, but it’s tough getting experience and enough practice.
BeatBotzofficial practice on all your beats! Online you can also find amazing site and forums that let you download stems of full songs for practice!
Solid video bro! Very informative
Super helpful! i personally liked the NI compressor, but i got why you chose the waves one. Keep up with these vids!
Love that style of compression too!
do you use this on your beats? if so, can you still use i limiter to bring up the volume for uploading to youtube?
LayZbeats of course! You should always use a limiter for loudness or a clipper!
I've heard from different other people "Fruity Limiter" is just trash... Lol I'm not sure if that'll help.
Julio Martinez yeah, I use fab filter pro L
How do you use it? Does it have a ceiling? How do you change it?
