Damn she was on fire this whole interview. So funny. Love her.
alex falcone is also a stand up comedias so that is 2 stand up comedians
I teared up when he gave her the socks. Now she can be free.
I'm always fooled into thinking it's a genuine conversation but Steven presenting the socks snapped me back into rehearsed reality.
Oof!
Awww! Free Dobby! Free Anna!
She is amazing and her chemistry with Jean is off the charts!
I ship them
When she said: “Oh you stop!!!” I could see Jean right there, she’s amazing! 😀
Ha, Jon Batiste playing "Who's That Lady" after Stephen forgot Hannah had already been on the show. Well played Jon
Hahaha! Levels
Isley brothers!
nailed it
😂😂😂
Props to you for noticing that. Jon loves to throw in these little easter eggs for people or maybe for his own amusement. My favorites are when he does renditions of video game music, like when he did the Green Hill Zone from Sonic.
She had to mention the most important part of the show, the kiss. Excellent choice, miss Einbinder.
The 56 people who don’t like this are plainly hungover Italian men.
I died on "Rachel Maddow's mechanic"
I'm watching "Hacks." It is great. What struck me about this interview, is that on the one hand, she was clearly putting on an act, even a bit of a shtick, yet she was simultaneously incredibly genuine. Color me impressed.
Yeah I think she just is a reincarnated old Hollywood leading man just trying to act normal
Pass the crayola. Color me. Impressed. As well. Gregg Oreo long beach ca
The champagne and socks!!! That brought tears to my eyes! Stephen is like the uncle that just gets you, when your parents never did.
Hi
Hacks was a brilliant show. I can't wait for the 2nd series. Hannah is a truly fine comedian, and I would not have known about her if not for the recommendation of Conan O'Brien!
Ugh but the way they ended it ALMOST on a happy note. What a tease!!
Great interview with Conan on the podcast today!

I 👏 love 👏 comedians 👏 who 👏 prepare 👏 for 👏 their 👏 late 👏 show 👏 appearances.
O.K. ... She's *brilliant* ... Now to find time to watch the show
This interview was way too short 😀 I LOVE Hacks❤️
they needed time for alex falcone lol
@@jorgesoler7753 😂
Just finished the show, it's fucking amazing. Everyone should check it out. Hoping for a second season.
It's been renewed for a second season :)
I totally agree!!
I hadn't started watching it yet, but was really intrigued just from the trailer alone. I wish that they would've put a spoiler alert in the title of this video! I wouldn't have watched it because now I know that there's an up-coming kiss between them. This ruins it for me. How do I begin watching, with anticipation, already knowing one of the outcomes?
So good!
There's a second season already announced.
Wow! I need to watch Hacks. She played that scene perfectly. I was mesmerized by her performance. Opposite Jean Smart as well. Hannah is going to be huge.
Edit: I wrote this before watching the interview. I think I love this person. The quick, dry sense of humour is my favourite kind. The self deprecation is also right up there. The rhythm, the timing, the words. The words are very important. I feel like she could continue to give these sort of answers, that were almost little improv moments which never really answered the questions and I would remain enthralled by her performance. Stephen was me. Watching an amazing new talent do her thing. I love this person.
1000000% agree with you, i'm equally dazzled. she has a cadence to her humour that is effortless and smooth. extremely impressive.
@@evanliveshere Laraine Newman's daughter. It's in her genes.
That was a masterclass! What fun to watch. What poise and comedic timing, that was a beautiful dance.
Out of an german perspective, Einbinder is a extremly funny name.
Hab ich mir auch gedacht 😂😂
What's it mean?
But what’s it mean though?
beeing german i can't see the funny in her name... you could come from a juvenile humor with female hygene products and its still not funny.
Not to be confused with bittenbinder.
She broke my sarcasm detector
" You've had your hollywood barmitzvah" that is quick, Stephen got skills.
Its kind of amazing that Hannah came up with an entire skit of her own about her appearance, but you find his single quick wit joke the good part.
Bat Mitzvah, though?
@@daxxonjabiru428 Since the comment leading to Stephen‘s remake was her saying, “I was just a boy, then,” bar mitzvah is a better choice for humor from Stephen.
@@nicholasschoonbeck6866 Naw, it's all good! :)
@@nicholasschoonbeck6866 2:17 Her genuine laugh speaks volumes ;)
I've never heard a more apt description of my sexuality.
Notice how she said bisexual and not pan or sumn stupid
@@MrSpade5150 Um, pansexual is a valid identity. Most people take "bi" to mean "I'm attracted to my own gender and other genders" nowadays, whereas "pan" is more like "gender is entirely unimportant when I'm looking for someone to date".
@@whychoooseausername4763 ~ And then there's omnisexual.
I am a trysexual.
Try anything.
@@MrSpade5150 well no shit because she’s bi. notice how she didn’t say hetero? Because she’s bi
Fun fact: Laraine Newman is Hannah's mother.
My positive comment for today goes to the movie clip! “Dressed up like Rachel Maddow‘s mechanic”😂Good stuff
It's from the TV show Hacks, not movie ;-)
DO mechanics that work on lesbian's cars dress differently?
WHY would a mechanic dress differently if they had customers that were lesbian?
The joke makes no sense, comedic, or otherwise...
lol
The perfect answer to "Are you a lesbian?"
Over sharing to the point where it makes the person so uncomfortable they regret asking.
Ah the best lesson of don't ask a question if you don't want to know the truth...I don't always have a good filter and have surprised more than a few bosses by being brutally honest to "how are you?" Positive vibes from New Hampshire, remember to be kind to each other and yourself
@@tammystockley-loughlin7680 I always tell people about talking to me, "Don't ask if you don't want to know"...
Ask an inappropriate question, get an inappropriate answer.
@@tammystockley-loughlin7680 My answer is usually "Bof" or "tired", since people don't really want to know.
@@igorschmidlapp6987 yep
She and the incredible Jean Smart are the best comedy duo on TV right now. Love that show, watched it twice already and will be watching it again with a friend coming for a visit. Also, Hannah is the daughter of SNL legend Laraine Newman!
Oh I had no idea, I see the resemblance now!
Never knew her lineage. No wonder she’s good.
Getting so many “Dana Scully” vibes from her look, I LOVE it!!!
she’s fantastic! if this is her in her mid twenties i can’t wait to see what she grows into in another decade
Hacks is an amazing show! It's great to see it getting the recognition it deserves
I just started watching HACKS. SO funny. Jean Smart is on a roll! Had no idea who Hannah was, but I'm such a fan now.
I have neither seen this show nor heard of this person, but this was one of the most genuinely enjoyable interviews I've watched in a long time. Will definitely be seeking out her stuff.
Her set from the Late Show last year is amazing.
She was on Conan O'Brien's podcast this week,it was such a great episode.
it's a fantastic show!
Make sure you watch Hacks! It’s just this for 10 episodes straight.
@@timma_thy Amazing, with a uniquely weird vibe.
The gift of a nice pair of socks is my favorite...every few years I ask my family for one pair of wool socks... I wear mine year round, I spend time in a cooler at work. My feet are warm, so I don't get cranky. Positive vibes from New Hampshire and remember to be kind to each other and yourself
One of the best shows I’ve seen in a LONG time. Impossible not to binge.
She's just intelligently funny. Interesting to see this 'Hacks'.
I wasn't the biggest fan of her Late Show stand-up set, but this interview was hilarious, and Hacks is one of my favorite shows in years.
I am a fan!
I don't do HBO, but gotta say - that clip is some of the funniest shit I've seen in ages! Still laughing out loud - HBO may get a few bucks outta me yet....
Just watched Hacks, had to come back and re-watch this interview, and the original appearance....Hannah Einbinder is an original, so glad I know this...will be watching everything she's involved in. Always loved Jean Smart too, and can't wait for S2.
You can tell both she comes from a comedian family 😅👌
"Moments after you did that set, the entire country shut down."
What did you do? What DID YOU DO!?!?!?!
I went to highschool with this gal, and she was easily just as weird as I was. So glad to she still is! Go, Hannah, go!
Weirdness can be so hot... ;-)
Humble-braggg
@@VideoNozoki more of an admit-to-defeat since I would love to be doing what she's doing, but whatever floats your goat!
Ugh tell her I love her
She is adorable and whip smart. Damn!!
And I just watched her stand up yesterday- great timing
hello, new crush
Having a drink with Colbert? So jealous!
I still can’t believe he’s gone from a stand in on “who’s line is it anyway” to these heights
Always loved Jean Smart.
I watched Hacks because of Jean Smart, and found this gem of an actress, waiting on next season.
How come she reminds me of Emily Blunt and Chelsea Clinton? :-)
A huge Kate McKinnon fan, obviously.
I think I would pay to watch her dinner conversations. What a talent.
Funny how many comedians make really good Actors. I remember a man who did it well, Mr. R. Williams.
loved him so so much
One of the best.
His 70th birthday just passed, I watched a few of his Carson appearances to commemorate. A true legend!
Ouch! 💔💔💔💔💔
@@ecbrown6151 True legend he is. I think one of his best roles was RV, my God, the gangsta scene was brilliant.
She's great, I've never seen someone talk so much with their hands lol.
Aurora?
Dude she'd be perfect for a scully in a xfiles reboot
She's made it now, because Stephen didn't make any mention that she is Laraine Newman's daughter... I do hear a little of her mother in her voice...
OMG. Thank you!
There was definitely a familiarity about her that I couldn’t place but I TOTALLY see Larraine Newman in her.
I think she only referred to herself as a man in this set, be it “only a boy” or “a hungover Italian man”. I like the energy. It’s interesting to the ear and paints a picture. I should probably go watch Hacks now.
Einbender is going to end up with a serious girl/girl following amongst the bigirl set.
I think I have fallen in love
She is Lorraine Newman’s (SNL) daughter
Sidenote, I am a heterosexual male, but I think Rachel Maddow has the hottest neck around.
I'd rather have the rear neck of a Japanese Geisha, thanks.
She's phenomenal. I want to see more of her and going to have to watch Hacks now.
Oh god, she's hilarious.
I love her, her standup set was amazing
Hacks is so insanely funny; Jean Smart IS a god
God that was a grrREAT clip.
She is so talented and naturally funny I can’t believe she hasn’t done more before now.
She has some great vlog stuff online.
Wow. She KILLED this interview!!!!! Good for her!!
That clip was definitely enough to pique my interest.
We don't deserve Hannah Einbinder
It's nice to see Jean Smart back, in "Watchmen," and this show, which I have not yet seen.
Watched this on my TV and then found it on my phone just so I can comment how cool this chick is. Like, damn! Never heard of her or that thing she's in, but now I'm in love with her sense of humour!
darling new lady of comedic media
Oh I’ve seen that clip! Had no idea where it was from, so thanks! She’s absolutely fantastic👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Wow. Funny girl.
Not surprised the entire country shut down after her last set on LSSC... what act could follow her?
Wish the interview had gone on longer,
Jean Smart is in fact a goddess.
Ok I am now in love...
Hannah Einbinder you are an absolute natural 💕
"Hacks" is a fabulously smart and funny show.
Show us the jewish space laser, Einbeinder.
Literally teared at the toast, tear fell at the socks… I’m on my lunch break…
Is there a hidden hatch for them to pass him shit from bellow the floor?
he has a shelf under his desk. I believe it was Ockham who said the simplest explanation is often the correct one. but personally, I enjoy your creative spirit.
@@evanliveshere It would be really weird if there wasn't a shelf and/or cabinet under his desk. But, if he's also on top of a stage, so it wouldn't be too difficult to add a hatch of some kind for people to run things to him without being seen. It's possible that the socks thing was pre-planed, but it would be odd if he always has a pair of socks stashed under there, just to give them away in the off chance that socks are mentioned.
Omg she's fucking hilarious
wow, what a woman
I watched her first segment over and over and over. So great to see her back on!
i just love the racial diversity this program promotes.
What a treasure. I have to watch this show now.
Hacks is fantastic. Bit of a slow build, but turns into the best new TV show of the year.
Damn, I was cooking food and this interview had me forgetting about my food, almost burned my food!
Guess I forgot the food just as fast as Cobert forgot this lady! Shame Steven, SHAME!
She seem brilliant! :D
smart kid - hannah.einbinder
Does that chain hurt her neck?
They don't call it a choker for nothing. I wore them in the '70s & '80s, but they were usually velvet ribbons, or more elaborate, Goth chains with gems.
For me this was such a classy thing to do. Colbert looks down and sees that his guest is doing buttoned jacket. Colbert knowing it's not going to look good does it. Hannah (hopefully unknowingly for the comedy) thankfully unbuttons the jacket and slick guy here doesn't miss a beat. Actually on rewatch start at 1:17 and judge for yourself. Use your Penn and Teller skills.
Proper jacket etiquette, button while standing; unbutton whilst seated;
Bisexuals have *twice* the chance for a date
And twice the chance of getting rejected
The only thing I don’t like about Colbert is he pre records performances so it’s less authentic
charming person
Hang on. So Stephen had the socks _right there at his desk?_ 🤔 Do they, like, give a pair to every member of the audience before they end the show, every night?
They usually plan out the main points of the conversation in advance so it was likely pre-planned. I gotta get my hands on socks like that though!
Those are called compression socks. Yes she broke my ❤️! Can't wait for her to play the mom with Seth Rogan in my still underdevelopment book, eventually to be optioned for a movie filmed in Oregon. Please refrain from time traveling it makes you delusional.
Dressed like Rachel Maddow’s mechanic … hahahahahaha
For you old farts like me, Hannah is Laraine Newman's daughter!
I love this woman
How can you not love this intelligent, funny, beautiful woman.
I love her and Jean Smart together. Brilliant show!
Stephen should have whispered "I'm proud of you son" 😁
