Electric or fuel, both are good. Fuel engines are a little messy but a hell of fun to play with from a 5 liter can of fuel. Electric boats are also great, clean and fun. But there is a problem. When the batteries discharge, unless you have money to buy replacement batteries or fast charge devices that charge batteries within 10 minutes (more money), electric boats can be an all day fun like gas (fuel) powered engines. If the budget is too much a piston engine and a 3-5 liter fuel can is just as good at being all day at the lake. I build speed boats using marine plywood and gas engine from size 40 to 80 OS engines of which I have heaps. I also substitute engines for electric motors. I build yachts and small ships too. There is nothing in comparison to what you want to choose in boat, electric or piston. It all depends on your budget. I sell a 1 meter marine plywood speedboat with twin OS 60 and two channels for system for $750. Good value for money. Just fill up, start the twinnies and hit 100 mph. Single engines smaller boat are slower than twin engined hulls. Driver and night lights are included.

I just priced out a couple of 12S stick packs for this boat. For good packs it would cost a $1000 to run this boat. Then you charge, or well, buy more. $470 for a 70C with no connectors, and you need 2 of them

unrealistic speed for the size. Look at the rooster tail, it looks best at about 3/4 throttle, thus looks far more realistic as does the speed.

for my opinion this is the best e-boat realization: big, powerful, goodlooking inside and outside, well balanced... not so fast but any fuel boat is a CRAP... please throw away your fuel boat: it's dirty, noisy, slow and not green...
