      Socratica is amazing. I am an electrical engineering and computer science student at University of California, Berkeley and I can say emphatically that Socratica is the best channel for beginning to love CS on RUclips. I wish this channel great success.

    I love these videos. I am a junior database admin that have learned a lot of advance stuff but never had the chance to start from the basics. I am now trying to learn SQL from scratch and am finding these videos to be very educational as well as entertaining. Great job.

    I rarely comment on videos, and I thought that I had seen it all on youtube, but these tutorials are pure genius! No matter how simple the explained concepts are, still worth watching from the beginning, it feels like watching a hard sci-fi movie while learning real world stuff. Awesome! The humor reminds me of claptrap, of the borderland series, amazing job! :)

    1:00 Quick note. That's not why they are called relational. It's called relational because relational databases follow relational algebra.

    4:14ff - "Let us add a record to the *movies* table." What you add to a table with the *insert* command is properly termed a "row," not a "record."

    They're not called relational databases because the tables can relate to each other. They're called relational databases because codds paper describes them as n-ary relations over a set of domains (which we see as the table columns). We just visualize the information as tables.
    The tables in this model ARE the relations

    The word "relational" in "relational database" does not mean that tables can be in some relation (eg. FK as it is stated in this video).
