And why not go to M3 S54 Manual swap, with the Superdupercharger? Check ebay uk, for example I’ve just seen this one:- bmw e46 m3 breaking S54 6speed complete set up. There are others being advertised too
I'll explain in the next video as well, but I don't want to make it M3. I want simplicity and robustness of M54 for daily use. I'd need a donor E46 M3 for S54 build which would be stupidly expensive and complicated build. It's a nice build which I'll attempt to do one day, but not now.

In Germany you also can rent a lift for like 10€/h but I only use this service for something like a clutch-replacement. All the other stuff I still do with my good old car jack 😊 and of course jackstands, these are vital

When I saw the first part of project Cologne, I actually noticed that there's no roof rack (seems like in Czech, 99 % of all wagons have roof racks, and there's a lot of wagons) and it was stuck in my head after that, so I went looking for options to remove it and went with the molding from a silver car and repainted it to oxfordgrün. Removed it like three months ago and I love that look every time I come to the car, it just made the wagon more "sporty" and less "father-y" and I just love the lower silhouette.
Buy a welder for the exhaust, just chop the pipe and shorten it. It is great to see you in the bigger place! E46 looks stunning and I prefer the look without the roof rack. Thanks for the video!
I feel like peak BMW wagon for me of this era would be like a 535i Touring with a big I6 and a manual. Not sure if they ever made them but I love the idea of a big boi wagon with a silky smooth I6 but could handle like an E39 M5 or like a 540i sport package car.
Would probably handle even better than the V8s considering R6 cars came with superior rack and pinion steering. Even the M5 had the older recirculating ball steering (although quicker steering-ratio than on the 540) I really notice the difference between my 540 and 525i E39s
Yeah a 5-er Touring of that era be a E39 540i Touring, which was the V8 with recirculating ball steering (as William skagen said). The previous gen E34 had the 535i and 540i, both also V8s. The later E60/E61 gen Touring would have the 535D (as Streten would say "tractor power") or the 535i which was the N54 I6 turbo also used in the E90 335i and the 135i. Then there were the E60/61 V8 545i and later 550i (and equivalent 6-er & 7-er). The E60 gen overlapped with the last year or so of E46 (apart form the Coupe which carried on another year or two IIRC until the E92 arrived). I also seem to remember the 535i & 535d E60/61 models didn't come out at original launch in 2003 and came with the LCI (facelift) in 2006. So, having said all that, I think your dream 5-er Touring wouldn't have existed as the top I6 before the E60 gen would have been the E39 530i (still a lovely car, I had an E39 528i saloon/sedan with a manual, I also had an E46 328Ci auto)

The paint shop should never have painted the parts without a sample test - as you requested. But instead of taking full responsibility and do the right thing, you had to use pressure to actually have them fix their mistake. Sad experience.

A big yes to that 3 liter swap. A big no to a supercharger. You'll have a hard time sourcing that 6 speed. I recently converted my 2002 e46 m54b30 convertible from 5 spd steptronic to 6 spd manual. Worth every penny but nigh on impossible to find a good box and correct length prop shaft. Of you want to go big on power, please consider doing an m62tub44 swap. I might go that route one day in the future and would love for you to show me how to do it.

Touring E46 Edition 33 in estoril blue on Styling M135 wheels is my daily driver. Looks exactly the same and I love this car so much. Every day after work when I park it in the street I turn back taking a short view to make myself smile before I head on to my flat :D It´s beautiful and timeless
I bought a 2003 330i ZHP new back in the day. Black on black, gorgeous car. I had that car for 7 years and loved every minute of it. I put a few upgrades on it, mostly from Racing Dynamics. I still think about how fun it was to drive.

I recommend to use 2 component epoxy glue for something like air ducts. Hot glue after time lost strength and brake.
If its PP you need special PP glue with catalyst

You should have used something else to glue your parts, like plastic glue or epoxy. Hot glue will last you a few months at best. But nice thinking!
It's ABS plastic. I have heat welded ABS parts with success in the past. But there are glues that are even easier to use

That tiny tiny dent on the front fender can probably be repaired by a paint less dent expert. Original paint looks amazing.
