Of all the car videos on RUclips this is my favorite site. I like the owner as he has a good attitude isn’t a smart ass or isn’t too snarky. I do like BMW’s because I used to have an 88 E30 M-3 which I regrettably sold due to the hugely expensive maintenance schedule, plus I put 100,000 miles on it since I bought it.(It had 76,000 already) Biggest automotive mistake I’ve ever made. It was the best sports car I ever owned.😢

Hello i saw there was a steering angle code, which could also lead into DSC codes i saw there. It is possible to disasemble the ring with sensor under the wheel and clean the disc that reads steering wheel position, after that you just calibrate the ring and its all good. Hope it helps

Or N46, i have sold my 118i in May and never changed the timing chain, it was build in February 2007 and had 100600 km, the first time I could hear the chain was at under 70000km 7 years ago. I replaced the tensioner and was lucky that it didn't fail until I sold it. I sold it for 3500€ to car dealer.

All the DSC related codes could be just the old battery, you can easily test that by swapping in one in decent shape (but it does make sense to also check the alternator charging voltage). I had this issue on an e34 (a car with ancient brake electrics in comparison) when a dying battery caused the ABS light to come while driving. The BMW electrics specialist rebuilt the alternator and about 200 Euros later he realised that didn't help one bit - the root cause was a dying battery.
