Ooh have fun! Hope you get good weather! Yeah we were not very fit when we did this hike so we were huffing and puffing a bit, but it's relatively short so if you take it slow it should be fine 😊 Good luck!
Yeah it’s definitely not too strenuous, especially if you are from the Alps! You can keep hiking from Asahidake to other peaks and do a multi-day hike too.
It's really hard to know. We've seen a couple of news articles recently about Japan possibly easing border restrictions for new foreign workers and students but we have no idea about tourists. Would love to see people being able to explore Japan again!
Yes we're aware of that 😊 A lot of the time place names in Japan don't follow one clear set of rules. Some websites call it Mt. Asahi while others call it Mt. Asahidake. We decided to go with the longer version in case it made it easier for anyone viewing to research the location.
Yeah unfortunately I believe people have passed away while climbing this mountain and others in Daisetsuzan National Park. The area gets a lot of snow and the weather can change quickly. Hiking in summer or early autumn on a good weather day is probably best 😊
This is so cool 😍 I like it and will support you
Thank you! Your bush survival videos are so interesting!
Sure is beautiful up there! Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching! It definitely felt good to be at the top!
@@RoyandAimee no problem! We really enjoy making outdoor videos also
NEXPO sent me here
Amazing. It’s really worth a visit when this corona is over.
Definitely! We were amazed by many places in Hokkaido, the countryside was beautiful!
@@RoyandAimee I’ve been to Hokkaido once, but I think there are lots of places I should visit around there next time. Thanks for sharing this video.
Yeah there’s definitely a lot of places to visit for outdoor lovers! We hope you make it back there someday in the future. Thank you for watching!
@@RoyandAimee Thank you too.
Anyone else going? Look for Kenji for us.
I'm gonna be in Hokkaido next week and plan to hike Asahidake (using the ropeway :D) , a little bit worried cause I'm also not that fit..

Aimee: "Probably won't film at all going down because it's very slippery and I need my hands"
Roy: Challenge accepted.
Hahaha this comment made us laugh a lot 😂 Let’s just say Roy’s a little less clumsy than me 😆
looks great! which month was this video taken?
We hiked this one in the middle of September 😊
How did you get into Japan? Are westerners even allowed yet?
Yeah unfortunately Japan's borders are still closed at the moment to non-resident's 😔 We've been living in Japan since before covid began.
@@RoyandAimee Ahh, I see. That's wild. When do you think they'd open up? I completely forgot about the Olympics too

Ngl it took like 30+mins but still fun!
Feels like climbing up Mt. Coronet in Pokemon DPP
Haha right!?

Mount Asahidake is an oxymoron.
Dake means mountain. It is just Asahidake. This video calls it Mount Asahi Mountain.
