Pro tip: If you're finding the new FRV a bit too slidy and uncontrollable in the tight suburb streets, you can actually switch gears from the relatively extreme four wheel drive to a more reasonable 1st or 2nd gear.
The scenes in dive 10, the giant battles against illuminates in the cities, the extractions under tripod fire, the napalm hitting the towns... Straight up movie
My first drop against the squids was with entirely the wrong gear in the dark. I felt like a random halo trooper in odst or the end of halo 1 as the first flood emerged. I couldn’t reliably break lander shields as the eagle strikes kept hitting buildings, my primary and support weapons couldn’t reliably land hits on the overseers and the voteless never stopped coming.

Fantastic choice, it’s a perfect fit. Thank you. It’s things like this that remind me modern gaming can still be great in ways no other medium is capable of.
Driving the FRV while a crashing Illuminate ship is coming down right on top of us, hitting the gas just as it crushes the street behind us is a GOAT for me.
I heard they're already back but I can't check. Honestly I would have been fine if they were gone for like a week, AH will probably be doing a few tweaks, like having sentry guns not shoot over Voteless heads.
Note that this is just the vanguard. We haven't seen their actual heavy units. The Harvester (tripod) is large but not as tanky as some of the floating shielded leaders. Those will be coming next.
I cant wait to finally get the FRV as a stratagem, being able to move quickly across huge maps will make life so much easier. I do enjoy how the LFV is pretty squishy but fast. It makes me wonder how it will be when we get to use it on bot and bug planets
Arrowhead devs have mentioned before on the Discord this is something they would love to do. But initial testing had shown that the enemy AI breaks if there is more than just player/friendly faction and enemy faction identification and they just end up not attacking anything. Would love to see 3-way fights too but I wouldn't count on it anytime soon unless they can find ways to massively improve the AI.
@@LazarultosToo bad it would be awesome... it's funny how they can't do this, but for example Half Life 1 and all the sequels kinnda managed to do it (army Vs combine Vs headcrabs Vs vortigaunt vs zombies vs player ) 😅
@@Dazuslo To be fair, Source games (like in HL2) utilized map node data to direct Combine, Rebel, and Headcrab infestation movements and behavior. If you've played GMOD you'd see that just spawning enemy AI into a map that doesn't have that data (like workshop maps that are just meant to be set pieces for animations) will just cause the AI to stand there doing nothing. With Helldivers having randomly generated maps, it'd require a different kind of AI programming than one used in Half Life.

okay they add a car. Why the battle car has tires which can blow off? Future with plasma and rail guns and still using tires which can easily blow up...
Fun fact: Hitting the antenna on the Tripod's head makes it unable to regenerate the shield.
