Something that I feel makes a huge difference compared to a lot of other games is that the enemies aren't just locked in to shooting you in particular. There are lots of enemies, and there are _strong_ enemies, but they have other things to shoot at and you're not a major concern. In most other games, you'd be dead from 30 different directions as soon as you stepped out from cover. It just feels very artificial and breaks immersion. But here, you get a much better sense of being just one of many soldiers on the battlefield. If they're not shooting at you, that means they're shooting at someone else, and they still need to be taken down as fast as possible.
I think what really adds to the immersion and the cinematic feel in this game specifically is the simple fact that there are no health bars, no indicators, no floating damage numbers. The Game doesnt need them, because you can SEE what your bullets are doing to the target, decimating and imploding it in real time. Just phenomenal gunplay and meaty impacts.
