This is a bittersweet episode for me. You are the reason that I started this build. I did not have the confidence to do a build of this complexity without your videos. I have watched every one and I am now on issue 52. I watch every one again as I do each issue so I will be watching this series for the next 2 years. Thank you for everything you have done on this build. I will be right with you on the ecto 1 build as well.
At least now I know how far I have till I get to the end. Issues 59-62 showed up today and now I know how big it's going to be! I have both the x-mas tree and flux capacitor from Model Mods and the Mike Lane carpets and magnetic number plates. I haven't started building yet, but I plan on rewatching your series as I go into it! Maybe if Pocher model kits had been marketed this way more would've been built rather than people opening the boxes and saying "My LORD!" and then they sit.

You look so young at the start of the build lol. The cover would have been better if it was a loose brown tarpaulin type, like used in doc brown's garage in the first film. But this was the build that got me into your channel a year ago. Good to see it finally finished

well finally finished mine after switching countries and my new home was 30 issues ahead taken year and half to finally get it all done only to find the electrics dont work i'm still decideing what to do . Thanks for the videos wayne helped me a lot awesome
A great finale video Wayne. The bit where you said there weren't any flaws and then got corrected over and over again was pure gold. In all seriousness though I think your statement of it being "an amazing car with lots of faults" sums it up pretty nicely. In terms of Delorean models out there it definitely is the best looking and most accurate car you can get, but only because so many other models don't come close to being right. Despite this however Eaglemoss's model has so many small flaws that could've easily been fixed, especially with the price tag to build the complete model. I'm planning to build my own 1:1 scale replica time machine some day and I plan to do it right. I met someone who lives local to me that worked on the original A Car restoration back in 2012 and his replica is honestly more accurate than the A Car itself is at the moment. So with his guidance I have a pretty good idea of all the little niche things that most people wouldn't notice, but are absent on this car. Some things the real car has that Eaglemoss's doesn't are: - The red hose on the reactor deck should be orange - The red capacitors on the driver pontoon should have the wires pointing in different directions - The red capacitors should have a data tag on them - The silver hockey pucks/pacmans infront of the red capacitors should be black on the edges (Though you fixed this problem) - The belting on the vents should be black not silver - The large hoses that go from the vents to the bulkhead should have different fittings on the elbows - The silver heatsink on the reactor deck should be gold - The black shock mount on the reactor deck should be silver on the round part in the middle - The Atomufflers next to the blue capacitors should have bronze lining around them not silver - There should be a random nut near the small aluminum vent on the driver side of the reactor deck (no idea why its there but it is) - Some of the heatsinks around the reactor should be slightly different in shape - The wormhole emitter/tachyon field generator should be less reflective and more of a dark smoked gray - The flux boxes shouldn't be so bright blue - The Time Circuit switch should have a black base not orange - Large silver capacitors on hoodbox should be gold - Overall lack of detail on small components Now of course these are relatively small problems that most other models of the car have as well (or they don't have because they just aren't as detailed and don't have the parts to get wrong in the first place). And you could argue that I'm just nitpicking about stuff no one else would notice. And yeah, you're right, but those aren't the only problems with the car. The biggest issue can be summed up in two words: Flux Capacitor. That flux is the reason I decided not to buy this car. How can you go into this much detail making the car and mess up the most important part of it? It shouldn't essentially be mandatory to buy a third party mod for the car to get the most important and iconic piece of it correct (nothing against the folks that made the modded flux and xmas tree, its absolutely beautiful). And while all the other models of the car are not as accurate as Eaglemoss's, at least you get what you pay for. Here, you're paying somewhere in the ball park of $2,000 for a car that can;t even get the most important part correct. (And nevermind the fact that around $100 of that is going towards 8 cheap-ass plastic railroad ties and another $100 goes toward small sections of rail). Maybe I'm being too hard on the car. If I saw this model a few years ago I probably would have thought it was the best thing ever (not counting the flux because even a person who saw the movie once could tell somethings wrong with it). But I cannot fathom paying that much money for a car that I don't even get all at once and have to put together myself AND that has this many flaws. I'd rather put that money towards building a real one. Jeez this comment went on way longer than I anticipated. I just get real passionate seeing my favorite movie car portrayed so badly yet being advertised as the best one ever. But, i digress. That being said, however, I really did enjoy watching your videos covering it Wayne. I wasn't here from the beginning, I binged up to like episode 108 sometime last year, but have been excited for the new videos ever since. Despite the flaws the car had you made it an enjoyable experience to watch and allowed me to take a good look at the car without spending the money on one. Plus, for better or worse (definitely worse on Eaglemoss's part) you convinced me NOT to buy one myself, so thanks for saving me the money :P I wish you the best of luck on the rest of your model builds in the future (or the past ;) ), and thanks again for all you've done during this series. I know what you mean Dan. Can you imagine the challenge of building a 1:1 car for real. With basic Deloreans costing almost £40k in this country it is nothing but a pipe dream for me.
The car's the easy part believe it or not. Well, not money wise, but some of these parts are impossible to find. Its all vintage military aircraft crap which is hard enough on its own, but a lot of it only got made in certain quantities. I think the shock mount on the reactor deck only ever had 250 made and they were used on military craft that were shot down and destroyed so who knows how many are left. And that god foresaken wormhole emitter/time field generator, nobody knows what that damn thing is. I've been trying to figure it out for over a year now, but its like it fell from a UFO or something, nobody knows nothing about it. The only two anyone knows about are the ones that were on the original A and B cars. Still, its a fun project and has been my dream since 5th grade so its nice to actually get moving on it. Got a fair bit of parts already which is exciting. But its nice to watch how the scale models of it are which is why I think I gravitated towards your series. Man this comment went on longer than I expected too lmao. Well anyway thanks for the response and thanks again for the great series of building this car :)

This video makes me double sad today. Not only is it the end of watching new vids of the Delorean build, as a Carolina Panther fan, the greatest linebacker of recent history has suddenly retired. We LOVE LUUUUUUUKE Kuechly. A true gentle giant on the field. Played with grace, style and dignity. SIGH.
I'm finally nearing the end of my build. I must agree, there are many, MANY problems with this build. I should have stopped at the first issue, but with a love of the movie car, the DeLorean, and fresh optimism, I pushed on. I made my 17th reissue request of EM today due to the wrong parts being issued in pack 115. Between the damaged parts, missing parts, wrong parts being packed and shipped, I've had it with EM. I will not do another EM build. Not a month has gone by that hasn't resulted in a call to EM support to report a problem. Over five additional months were added to this project waiting for reship or out of stock issues. I did use the extra time to work on mods from Shapeways, but as a company I'd say the issues and delays experienced as the result of bad product being shipped out of the warehouse by EM is completely unacceptable. For anyone going into this build be aware that you will experience the same troubles. The issues that Wayne has listed plus the ones that I have listed will plague you through this build. Good luck should you decide to take on this build.
Awhhh feeling sad. But it's been great fun. For those who are new to the build, don't worry we are still making these mods. Wayne great video as always. And looking forward to more fun with you on the other builds.
Dispiet all the problems building my delorean I'm glad I stuck with it because it does look the part in its display case, I just hope eaglemoss have got the ecto 1 sorted because that's my next one and I'll be following your build with that. As normal great videos mate
I’ve got the Hot Toys 1/6 scale, now I’ve built the 1/8 part 3 version on tracks. I’m hoping to pick up another kit cheap down the track to build the flying Delorean part 2. Great work on all these Vids thanks for all the effort and ideas.
What a journey ! I had hair when I started this build! I cannot get into the ghostbusters Ecto 1. Shame because it’s my favourite but Eaglemoss puts me off completely 😞

You've got to mod those tracks with Mike Lanes mod surely Wayne?....... also, My OCD couldn't cope with knowing I had a couple of broken bits on the car ;)
Its been entertaining Wayne so well done for getting to the end of it. Sad to hear though your completed build has a few issues. Hope they get it right for people building the ecto but i guess the weeks and months will tell.
At least you’ll be ready for Ecto 1 instead of spending 7 hours in tears only to find out the batteries died 🤣🤣🤣 Feels like I have new friends from this build I can share the pain and the joy with and can’t wait for the Ecto 1 to get started

Congrats on finishing the delorean. I'm probably not going to do the extended build. Gotta love the flux and Christmas tree mod Corrie and Chloe created. Who could forget the loads of issues with the build. I still have some electrical issues I cant seem to solve but still love the car. Thanks for the guide you've created for us builders. how much was the full car? is it $1.95 every week? how many weeks did it take to get all the parts? you sayd 3 years, is that how long it takes to get all the parts??? you get a book and parts every week for $1.95, there are 159 books to get soooo it takes 159 weeks to get all the books and parts for $310.05 in total??? help plz... is there a way to get all the parts in one package??
No the first part is $1.95 then it will go up to full price. Over here in the UK each issue is £8.99 and the car is completed in 126 issues. They have extensions for the plutonium case and hood box, tracks and railroad wheels which takes it up to 159 issues. Total prices is just shy of £1500 or $1800

Hello Wayne, my name is Jacques, I just bought a second hand DeLorean eaglemos 1:8. The car has his problems and needs a good clean. The doorlifters don’t work, the right side is broken. Do you have any idee of eaglemos have a update solution for the doorlifters or do you now somebody that have make a solution for the doors? Ps: sorry for my Englisch,i am from Belgium. Dispiet all the problems building my delorean I'm glad I stuck with it because it does look the part in its display case, I just hope eaglemoss have got the ecto 1 sorted because that's my next one and I'll be following your build with that. As normal great videos mate

I’ve got the Hot Toys 1/6 scale, now I’ve built the 1/8 part 3 version on tracks. I’m hoping to pick up another kit cheap down the track to build the flying Delorean part 2.

What a journey ! I had hair when I started this build! I cannot get into the ghostbusters Ecto 1. Shame because it’s my favourite but Eaglemoss puts me off completely 😞

So I’m still missing a few issues and on eBay some are parts only without the magazine so if I get this magazine 159 would that be easier thanks

You've got to mod those tracks with Mike Lanes mod surely Wayne?....... also, My OCD couldn't cope with knowing I had a couple of broken bits on the car ;)
Mine can. I wouldn't take it apart again if you paid me and trust me a lot went wrong with my build.
Its been entertaining Wayne so well done for getting to the end of it. Sad to hear though your completed build has a few issues. Hope they get it right for people building the ecto but i guess the weeks and months will tell.

Hi Wayne I've nearly finished building the Delorean now but the front wheels just drop or droop if you lift the car up and I was just wondering if you or anyone in the comments knew how to fix the front wheels? Thanks

Congrats on finishing the delorean. I'm probably not going to do the extended build. Gotta love the flux and Christmas tree mod Corrie and Chloe created. Who could forget the loads of issues with the build. I still have some electrical issues I cant seem to solve but still love the car. Thanks for the guide you've created for us builders. Heck of a ride. Thanks for letting us join you on this journey. Any plans on 3d printing acquiring a mod for the steam gage for the interior. Also curious if you ever got the rail tie mods or that missing buckle.
Nope never got the buckle and it had been in the display case ever since. I could keep coming back to it but it was time to move on

Yep although to be honest I have never operated any of the electricsnin the 1 years since building it. Its nice to have the option but would you ever really use it always on?

Just found your page and been having a look at the Delorean build and it looks great.
Would you recommend it to someone who hasn't ever built any models before?
Was looking for a bit of a project and I love Back to the Future so this could be great.
It does seem to work out very expensive. Would you say its worth the money? Are models like this usually this type of price?

It's a good build but has some really challenging bits in issue 48 and 91. If you think you can manage them you should be good.

The Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger forra start. As that was their1st 1:8th car. +it was ahelluva lot better than the Delorean as well

how much was the full car? is it $1.95 every week? how many weeks did it take to get all the parts? you sayd 3 years, is that how long it takes to get all the parts??? you get a book and parts every week for $1.95, there are 159 books to get soooo it takes 159 weeks to get all the books and parts for $310.05 in total??? help plz... is there a way to get all the parts in one package??
No the first part is $1.95 then it will go up to full price. Over here in the UK each issue is £8.99 and the car is completed in 126 issues. They have extensions for the plutonium case and hood box, tracks and railroad wheels which takes it up to 159 issues. Total prices is just shy of £1500 or $1800
What was the price of the final build?
The last mag was £8.99 which means the whole build in total was £1429

Hello Wayne, my name is Jacques, I just bought a second hand DeLorean eaglemos 1:8. The car has his problems and needs a good clean. The doorlifters don’t work, the right side is broken. Do you have any idee of eaglemos have a update solution for the doorlifters or do you now somebody that have make a solution for the doors?

Well yes and no. There will be no more build videos but I will be doing video as and when any new mods come out which I plan to install. Mike is working on the tracks and I am being sent some 1 piece rails.
