    As I was dropping my daughter off for summer school this morning I saw a teacher get out of his car in flip flops a t shirt and board shorts. Instantly reminded me of this movie and for some reason this video shows up in my recommended.

    Great job man. This is one I had been considering doing myself for years. The location of the roller coaster is correct however at the time of filming it was called The Corkscrew named after it's corkscrew like double loop. This coaster closed in 1989 and was moved to Silverwood Park in Idaho where it is still operational today. So you can still ride the actual coaster from Summer School. Boomerang opened in it's place in 1990. Then that was torn down in 2017 and today it's a new coaster called Hang Time. Keep up the good work man.

    • @80sLife
      @80sLife  3 года назад +1

      Hey thanks man, I really appreciate it. Yeah I realized about the coaster shortly after I posted. I had totally forgot about corkscrew. Oh well, what can you do. Thanks so much for watching

      Nit pick....

    • @malfuncsean
      @malfuncsean 3 года назад +4

      @@chuckfan1 Would have been a nit pick if maybe they had just changed the name of the roller coaster but it's a completely different coaster. The character Chainsaw even refers to the double loop in his dialogue while reviewing the coaster. So there is nit picking and there is just being wrong. I've made plenty of mistakes myself and when I'm wrong about something I want to be corrected and know the facts. His videos are mini history lessons and I believe he wants the history to be accurate.

    The roller coaster was actually named corkscrew. Boomerang replaced corkscrew not to long after the movie was made.

    Excellent job..
    I noticed that one of the police officers who arrest Shoop on the beach was also the security/ref that talks to Mr. Miagi, Alley and Daniel at the tournament in the Karate kid; since you did such a great job on Karate Kid locations.

    Fun fact. Kirstie Alley first appeared as a contestant on Match Game and she was recognized by someone in Hollywood and that's how she was discovered.

    That is crazy if think about how he had a house right on the beach being a teacher, Anything right next to the beach is usually super expensive. .. also you make excellent videos, I love them and watch often, your attention to details is awesome ! You don’t just rush to a couple locations like some people, you really do your homework 😎thank you for making all of these!!! Should do the move RAD if haven’t already. It falls right along with THRASHIN.. and I did like Thrashin more for sure. But rad and bmx bandits were both also great. Again thank you!!

      Rad was actually recorded in Canada, so I doubt he'll do that one. But a few others have, you should check them out.

    Amazing how untouched this school is. Looks like it hasn't been "updated" (ruined) at all in at least three decades. This kind of thing is so rare now and getting more rare every day. We have to enjoy and document these things while we still can. In another ten years they will all be gone, I fear.

    Gary Riley went to my school, even brought scripts. He was in Silver Spoons at that time and he sat next to me. He was only there for 2-3 months until after the shooting. Political Science at Uni H.S. in Irvine, California 1986/87. Yes, Will Farrel was the PA announcer at that time too.
