My recipe - a very old one admittedly - doesn't use icing sugar as well as the condensed milk, especially as the condensed milk is already sweetened here. The other tip it advises is to split the milk in two, colour the milk and then add the coconut to each portion depending on the colours chosen. Tastes lovely as well, I remember mum making it for Xmas decades ago and it was sweet but not too sweet. Think I'll give it another go this year, in the new year. Thanks for the memories.
In Costa Rica we make something similar called Cajetas de Coco, but instead of adding powdered sugar, we add powdered milk and a little normal sugar (if needed, avoiding making them overly sweet, the condensed milk is usually more than enough.
Hi Windy, I just recently discovered you and boy, I had no idea that you are what my life has been missing all this time. I absolutely adore you, and how easy you make everything you do seem so simply irresistible whare even I think I could do them and trust me I'm a mess in the kitchen. Btw I like your new beautiful kitchen. I'm so excited to try this recipe I'm a huge fan of anything coconut ,next up your fudge . Thank you, for sharing your recipes with me and the masses
I’m with you! If you’re going to eat goodies at Christmas, don’t count the calories. Either eat it or don’t. Personally, I don’t have that kind of willpower! This recipe looks amazing and the fact that it’s a time-saver is a big bonus! I believe I’ll make this for our family get-together and color it in Christmas colors. The pastels would be perfection for Easter, or just springtime.
This is a traditional Indian sweet. Sugar syrup cardamom with dessicated or fresh coconut grated. KOPRAPAK. As kids we were crazy abt it. 24x7x365 days ...
love it 😍 so easy definitely I make for my cousin sis, she celebrate Christmas 🎄 as a Gift when I visit her, tq & Merry Christmas 2u..Wendy, MeeraMuniam🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾
I think I bought something like this in an Indian grocery store several years ago. It is delicious! There was also a sweet made with cashews which tastes of cardamom. Do you know it?
Nancy it should make around 30-36 pieces. No problem if you don’t have a loose bottom pan just line the cake pan with parchment paper like I have shown in my video and use the hangover to pull it up. Enjoy!
They are absolutely yum and hard to resist Geler. We are using desiccated coconut in this recipe so you can store them for about 4 days at room temperature and them it’s advisable to refrigerator them. Enjoy!
I have subscribed to your channel recently . I would like to try out this recipe but can I tweak it a little and instead of vanilla can I use cardamom powder ? Also can I omit the sugar / lessen its quantity 🤔 ?
Thanks for subscribing to my channel Bulbul. You could definitely substitute cardamom powder for the vanilla. And I would suggest you reduce the sugar if you wanted but do not omit it totally.
@@PlatinItWithWendy thanks a ton for taking the time to clarify my questions . Much love , take care and God bless . Wishing you success in your endeavors on this platform .😃💐💐😃

How many pieces does this make, Wendy? I don't have a square tin with a removable bottom, what is an alternative that you would suggest?
Nancy it should make around 30-36 pieces. No problem if you don’t have a loose bottom pan just line the cake pan with parchment paper like I have shown in my video and use the hangover to pull it up. Enjoy!

Hi, can the desiccated coconut be substituted with freshly shredded coconut? I live in a tropical country and coconut is plentiful here. Thanks!
Yes, absolutely
Awesome n m sure tastes yum too. Question: How do u store them. Wont they spoil soon, since uncooked.
They are absolutely yum and hard to resist Geler. We are using desiccated coconut in this recipe so you can store them for about 4 days at room temperature and them it’s advisable to refrigerator them. Enjoy!
Thanx Wendy.

Can we use freshly grated coconut instead of dedicated , Wendy ?
You can use it but then you will have to cook the mixture to reduce the liquid in it.
Can we add normal sugar powder instead of icing sugar?
I would keep to icing sugar
Nice video👌💕
Many many thanks
