Yes. Congratulations on 200,000. This trip reminded of my trips to Costa Rica. Single prop Cessna caravans, realising how small we were when taxiiing amongst the big jets. More fun though.
Steve - What an absolute gem of a day for flying, bluebird skies with CAVU conditions all around. Congrats on finally make the shortest scheduled run ever and hitting 200k subscribers all in one video posting too.
@@steve-marsh - one word of caution: When you reach 20 mill subs in a few years, don't drop the 'budget'-travel concept which you do so well. ;) You can just hide your immense wealth then, and pretend ... :)
The wife and I play a fun game while watching your videos. Every time you say “wee” we take a drink…not going to lie we can only make it through three videos before we have to call it a night. Keep up the great videos!
When I landed in Orkney from Aberdeen a few years back in the evening, I saw as we came in what turned out to be the last airport bus of the night leaving, and my taxi never turned up. But all was not lost, myself and another stranded passenger were picked up by an airport worker passing by and taken to the door to our separate accommodations in Kirkwall, he wouldn’t accept anything for the lift either. That sums up Orkney, the best island and the best of folk. 👍
I was quarantined with Covid in 2022 on Kirkwall … the people are absolutely lovely!! I had to fly from Kirkwall to Aberdeen and then to London to get home. Beautiful memories about the Island, not the Covid!!!😅😅😅
Congratulations Steve, not only the world’s shortest scheduled flight but also 200,000 of us subscribers enjoying your adventures. Well deserved. I really enjoy your videos
I decided a few years ago to do this flight, but was advised that a sightseeing ticket could only be booked on the day, as it depended on the number of normal passengers who were booked. As my plan was to be on Orkney for 3 days only, I decided to in advance to book the morning flight from Kirkwall to Papa Westray via Westray, and the evening flight from Papa Westray to Kirkwall via Westray. Not only was I guaranteed a seat on both flights, but the price was only 16 pounds each way. Pappy was a wonderful place where I spent 8 hours, two hours of sunshine, 3 hours of wind, and 3 hours of rain!
That pilot literally has the BEST job! Stunning! Oh and we saw another lighthouse, and as we know "It's always a good day when you find a lighthouse (tm)" 😉
Loving this video Steve. My lad flies the ATRs for LoganAir, and I am so jealous (I fly LongHaul for a well known Heathrow outfit) - the views he gets, and the opportunities he has for exploring the islands are truly incredible! It’s so nice that you’re able to share a little part of this with 200k people and more through your channel. Thank you!
Thank you for choosing this career path; your videos are interesting and well-edited, your voice is comforting and you are a kind person. Looking forward to many more vicarious adventures with you!
Wow - spectacular trip! How did you get that weather? So amazing. I am so glad you enjoyed the flight with no issues. Thanks again for taking us on this very special journey!
Hi Steve, I think you're awesome mate. I love it when I come home still sort of in work mode, and when I turn on the pc and see you've already uploaded the next video, I can instantly unwind and legitimately relax watching your videos. I wish you all the best, and hopefully you'll be able to keep making the same awesome content for many years to come. Bless you!
I watched your previous attempt where it went a bit awry with the weather. Glad you've finally got to itch that scratch and get 200K subs as well. Well deserved.
Wow, 201k subscribers, that’s brilliant Steve 👍. Thanks for another great video, so glad you made it this time after the sheer disappointment before. ❤xx
Gosh...it's a wee world that you are making smaller. I have a plasterer in my house (Kirkham Lancashire) and I'm watching your video (again). He says..."ooo Steve Marsh!" He watches your videos, and his gran from Saltcoats watches too! You're making this world smaller day by day! He was somewhat impressed that this 67 yr old granny was actually subscribed to your page. PS You gave me courage to 'take off' by myself and fly out to Mallorca by myself. Love to you both x
Sheena, your comments gave me a much-needed smile. I’m so glad you felt encouraged to take the leap and fly to Mallorca! Steve’s videos have helped broaden my horizons as well. How funny that the workman in your house knew Steve’s work as well. 😁❤️
I did this flight in August 2023 on a similarly nice day. Spectacular and the best £36 I ever spent. Thank-you Orkney Islands Council for the subsidy! I’m a pilot and had a good view of the instrument panel. We climbed to 1000’ between Kirkwall and the islands, cruising at a leisurely 100 knots for the 15 minute flight. For the very short flight between the islands (76 seconds in my case) we climbed at full power to 300’ and then cut power for the approach and landing. Nobody told me there was a certificate! I will have to do this again.
So glad this video didn’t contain food. I watch your logs mainly at night and seeing you eating your amazing breakfasts or dinners always makes me hungry 🤦♀️ so I pause and nip down for a wee snack 🙄 fabulous day to see the islands. What a bargain flight. Now need to read up on those two islands. Thanks for a great Video. 👏👏👏
Congrats Steve on 200k from New Zealand….and a special thank you for being back in Orkney. My great grandparents would still recognise the place they left in 1873. I must visit again too. I’m loving hearing the voices and that familiar accent.
Hi Stephen your flights around the beautiful islands of Orkney brought back wonderful memories of our flight to North Ronaldsay where the sheep live on the beach and we shared every weather system known in one day . Thank you Chris &June
I started watching your videos a few weeks back, you seemed familiar, name familiar, voice familiar, but your on the other side of the world. Then I read your bio, I have lived on the North Shore 23 years. I am guessing we crossed paths at some point. No idea when. Your videos are great. Thanks.
Well done, Steve! And you had the very best of weather for the flight. BTW, I love the sound of the Islander's engines and I love these inter-island flights. Thank you doing this and taking us along with you.
After checking an Ordinance Survey map - the name of the island you were looking for help naming is "Wort Holm". Great videos - keep up the great work!
200k! Well done Steve. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos, so relaxing for us, if not so much for you!😁 I am so glad you got to go on the shortest flight at last. Congrats from NZ.
I hope you managed to cope with what must have been appalling jet lag on that flight. Maybe next time you should have a longer stopover.......?! Congratulations from the Sunshine Coast, Australia on your 200,000. Very well deserved. 🎉🏴🇦🇺✈️
Congratulations, Steve! 🎉 You were blessed with great weather and great flights (I loved flying the BN-2… great little aircraft), and you just made a great memory. The smile on your face said it all. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Once in a while there are some videos that really deserve 10 likes from each of us ..
Thanks Steve. You are better than the telly.
So glad you kept the flight noise instead of music. Made it feel like we were actually on the flight…..loved the views . Well done
agree.
Adds new meaning to the phrase "I'll be there in a minute"!
And “flying visit!” 😂😂

The 'wee island' is called Wart Holm, Steve! Another fantastic video!
On Google it is Little Green Holm.
@@pete1211 That's a different Holm. Great video Steve.
6:00 Absolutely loved the shot of the plane lifting off leaving the shadow behind. That was beautiful!
Amazing value for £45 . Couldn’t even get a pint in Reykjavik for that 🤣🤣. Great Wednesday night viewing . Congrats on your 200k subs . Superb 👍

I would consider coming out of retirement to fly the “inter-islanders”, at least it looks like fun on those bluebird days!
