I’ve been fitting ball bearings to my Super Stock motors, for years now. Not only are Motors more efficient, with bearings. It also increases the motors life span. 😎
That's some crazy speed there , I also have a Tamiya super stock RZ motor in a super Hot Shot and that get up to 44 kmh or around 27 mph. So how have you got this sort of speed like 64 kmh is fast and 70 kmh is crazy fast again, but that's a huge difference over my 44 kmh. I also use an nvision lipo 2s battery and the car has full Ball bearings. Maybe I could get a little quicker on a longer stretch of road.👍👌 Great work man.
@@cagemanch.7567 yep your spot on there. An off road car has lower gearing than an on road car. But who would ever think Tamiya cars can get 64-70 kmh ? That's venturing into brushless motor territory. For instance I also have a Kyosho Fazer VE Chevy Camaro brushless ( black Camaro Z28 with Super charger) and Kyosho claim that car can reach 65 kmh versus the 42 kmh for same car and chassis Kyosho Fazer mk 2 Chevy Camaro with brushed G14 L 14 turn motor.( Frost green 1969 Chevy Camaro Z28) kind of makes Kyosho look slow in other words when brushed Tamiya motors go faster than brushless kyosho motors🤔👍
hotshot is geared pretty slow for offroading... also it has some internal friction, more gears than the modern cars. And the gears are much thinner... so with a hot motor it will be shot pretty soon.
@@schuttrostig5729 well the car doesn't get used much. I was driving it around 2-3 times a year. It's still in brand new condition and has not been driven in around 6 months now. I have newer other cars to drive from Kyosho. 2 Kyosho Fazer Chevy Camaro Z28. One brushed and one brushless. Even if that was to happen , I was only running the Super Hot Shot on flat asphalt road in front of my house and on lawn. It never saw a race track or jumps at all. And I would only give it a few passes just to see what it could do. Regardless if the gears do fail I've already got spares. CHEERS Buddy 👌👍
I just put the rz in my a959. If the original 540 in my car is 70kmh this motor is more than that. It has a lot more torque than my original 540. Is faster too. I have to tap the throttle real fast and let of doing this 3 or 4 times from take off just to keep from spinning out. I can even get my speed up about 70 percent, then give it full throttle and still spin out on good tires. This motor is a monster
Is it normal for the motor to get almost too hot too touch while bench testing without a load? Also it vibrates and gets stuck at 18,000 rpm then jumps to 21,400 rpm. Won't go any faster than that. This motor is supposed to go over 27,000 rpm. UPDATE: My car was in training mode on only 50% power. The RZ motor rips. Just did 30,481rpm at 8.4V fully charge 2s lipo!
Your videos are amazing and save me so much time looking for answers to my next question I didn't even know yet lol
Honestly wasn't expecting such a big difference!
Great job comparing both scenarios. It's definitely worth the upgrade. Thanks for putting this video together!
Welcome back, sir! I've missed your videos, a lot!
Thank you for the polite message.
I think that I wana keep making videos as much as possible for you and other subscribers : )
Ty, I’m about to upgrade mine:)
Can that esc and motor run comfortable with the current setup or does it over heat?
Yes, esc and motor can run.
Hi ‘ great video ! Do you have to break in the motor prior to full usage ?
It's better to do it than not to do it : )
Hello. Great video. I got question, super stock bz break in video please. This is great video in your Channel.
Best Regards from Peter 😎

Thank you for the helpful information : )
New info for newbie like me thanks!
Great Video! I love every video you post.
Your words encourage me.
Thanks :D
I will do the same video on my TZ but with a bench !
Love your video , super excellent 👍 informations.
I'm glad I could help you : )
Man this is a very good video
Keep doing
Thank you for supporting me : )
I do this on all of my stock motors with an open endbell. Even the ones that are not rebuildable can be taken apart and upgraded this way.
Other then Yokomo BB-R2ZZ, are there any alternative bearing for it??
this is difficult to buy BB-R2ZZ

Hi there i was just wondering the same thing then i seen your video what a coincidence.✌🏻
Use some speed cream in your bearings, it's a low viscosity oil for downhill skate bearings:)

I think the main reason is the gear ratio : )

Thats astonishing 🤯 but why does a 50 bucks brushed motor come with metal bushings 🤔
I think so too : )

Fast Eddy bearings
That's worth the upgrade!
And it's easy : )
I wonder if it means less heat
I think the decrease in load torque is also one of the reasons.
Wish Tamiya would just use bearings in everything amd just up the price a bit.
