Mississippi chicken is one of my favorite recipes! I probably have it once every month! I love to serve mine with homemade mashed potatoes and season green beans and a roll! 😋 God bless from East Texas!
Making this as soon as i get up tomorrow!! Ive been trying your recipes every week for a couple months now and damn!! You're good!!! Been looking forward to this one for a while now! Thank you so much for what you do! You're an amazing cook!!
I have my crockpot going today while I’m at work. (Hubby is home) I have chicken breast and chicken thighs in there so I can make chicken and noodles this afternoon. I get home at 3:00 so I’ll take a 45 minute nap then cook supper. Your recipe is making me really hungry this morning… I add butter to my chicken and noodles too. Ya can’t go wrong with butter. ❤❤I’m with your sweet hubby.. Mashed potatoes. 😋
Another fast and easy recipe to put together Catherine! 😍 And tons of flavor! 😘 I can't help but want this with mashed potatoes! 😋 Thanks for sharing another great recipe! 🥰
Finally got around to making this and when it done had some left over chicken and the liquid mixture that it was cooked in, so I shredded the left over chicken breasts, placed it in the leftover juice in the crockpot, added more chicken broth, some noodles, corn, a little more salt and pepper. Let it cook on high in the crockpot for about 2 hours. Then let it cool, put in the fridge for a couple of days. Warmed it up tonight and had a wonderful and tasty bowl of Mississippi chicken soup.
Even though I've never had this combo of flavors on chicken, my taste buds have quite the imagination. I already know I'll be requiring more peppers in the pot. Oh and mashed potatoes are a must!
I made this. I didn't have pepperoni or even banana pepper but I did have jarred roasted red bell peppers on hand. I used those and it turned out delish!
Will say a prayer for you Daisy, headaches are no fun, take care. By the way my mother-in-laws name was Daisy. Her given name was Diana, she was a gem of a lady
@@daisyking5656 I am 76 & been cooking forever. Like trying Catherine 's recipes. Like the cube steaks in the crock pot. Flour the meat , salt & pepper , just brown off in skillet. Put in crock . Mix a can of cream of mushroom soup & a can of beef broth, pour over steaks in crock. Cook on low six- eight hours. High 4-5 hours. We have them with mashed potatoes. I think Catherine has a recipe for these .
Katherine wanted to let you know I made that Mississippi chicken and it is so good. I took the broth and I cooked my pasta in it and it gave it such a good good flavor thank you for sharing
That looks good! I’d have to leave the pepperonis out because I have no tolerance for heat. It’s gotten worse as I’ve gotten older. Cute sweater that you’re wearing!
Have had the Mississippi beef, love it. Will do this chicken, just happen to have everything on hand. Thomas, we will do mashed potatoes too. Thanks Catherine. Have a great weekend.
Love the Mississippi pot roast never had it with chicken I'll be making this recipe yummy .Thank you for sharing Catherine have a blessed day stay safe and healthy. 🙏❤🙏❤🙏
It's really good over salad or done up like nachos this looks great. I usually do mine in Instant pot from frozen about 31-33 min depending on size and cuts of chicken
Catherine, I got around to making this recipe last night, and it is amazing. I’ve never made Mississippi style anything before because I have a gluten restriction due to IBS. I FINALLY got my hands on some good gluten free gravy packets and a gluten free ranch mix that I like, so I made this one. Oh, wow, the smell and taste were divine! I had mine over mashed potatoes with some fresh steamed green beans. Phenomenal! Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring me ❤
You are a good cook, Catherine! M going to make this; DH loves mezetta’s pepperoncini and these flavors will be so good together. Also, I love the idea you shared of steaming broccoli with chicken broth and garlic powder….yum ;p. Thank you.
Catherine you have outdone yourself again! That looks so delicious! I love the crockpot recipes. We love using our crockpots, air fryer & our Instant Pots. I think my family would love this recipe, but will probably have to leave the peppers out cause we are not big spicy food eaters. I love spicy food it just doesn't love me back anymore sadly. The older I get the more I find I'm having trouble eating like I use to be able to. Thank you so much for sharing your amazing recipes with us Catherine! 💜
I was watching your video snd u say in the ingredients to use 1 cup of chicken broth but I didn’t see u use it ? Was that a error or are u to pour it in crock pot before chicken goes in ?
I love the Crockpot recipes. They’re great for those times when you know it’s going to be a long day..

🤦♀️ sorry about that my mistake I just missed it about the chicken broth u did show when to use it .
Yes, it's in the video.
I will definitely try that with mashed potatoes can I Use the broth to make gravy how would I do that with cornstarch and about how much
Yes, you can.
I am so in.
Yummy. ❤
Do you use the gravy? Seems like it would be very tasty too.
I will usually save it for another dish my husband makes.
I think it looks great with the egg noodles, but mashed potatoes sounds like a good option, too.
Sounds delicious ! Could this recipe use pork loin or pork roast as well ? Maybe with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut ? TFS Catherine.
Yes you can!
Looks yummy ❤

Yum Thanks.
My pleasure 😊
Yum! I would serve mine just like you have yours. Do you ever use crock pot cooking bags?
I've tried the crockpot bags, but don't really care for them.
Thank you!
Question with all the dripping in the bottom of the crock pot, could that be used as a gravy base? Thank you
Yes you can!
I was watching your video snd u say in the ingredients to use 1 cup of chicken broth but I didn’t see u use it ? Was that a error or are u to pour it in crock pot before chicken goes in ?
No, it's not a mistake, add it when you add the ranch.
Would the au jus and ranch season be salty
We didn't find it salty.
If you have high blood pressure I would use half the packets and get low sodium au jus
What about substituting annaheim peppers for the pepperchinis?
Sure, you can do that.
I have to go light on those pepperoncinis. I don’t like a lot of heat.
Seems like this would be really salty using those 2 packets. Is it salty?
We don't find it salty.
I would do some rice with that.
What do you do with all the juice?
I keep it and my husband uses it for a recipe he makes.
Did you cook on high or low and for how many hours?
I cooked it on high for about 3.5 hours.
Yummy looking we like spicy, adding more…or even some sliced jalapeños? I’m not much of a cook. 😂
I would start with adding more pepperoncini's.
@@CatherinesPlates yeah, that would be better 👍😊
👍👍❤️🙏🇨🇦👍
The sound quality has been bad lately lots of static.
That's strange it's not there when we edit the video.
I wounder if anyone else hears it or if it's just on my end
He wanted mashed potatoes we did noodles LOL terrible
LOL!
That looks FANTASTIC!! Even I can do that! Thanks for the idea 👍
