I was always told to wash the chicken before you cook it .... My daughter-in-law made this months ago. She thought she was hiding how she made it UNTIL ..... I found your recipe ! Thank you so much it really shocked her . Great recipe 💞
OH THIS WAS FANTASTIC!! I never seen this recipe before, I never ate a pepperochini, ect. So I was really excited to try this recipe! I tried to buy chicken gravy packet and I couldn't. There was no turkey gravy either. All I could buy was, beef, brown gravy, ect. Sooooo I did a compromise. This is what I did. I put my chicken tenders down in the crock, then I poured a can of cream of chicken soup over the tenders, then the ranch powder, then the pepperochinis. Oh my GOSH!! When it was done, there was chicken, ranch, pepperochini gravy all around my chicken tenders!! I toasted 9 grain bread, poured gravy on the bread, with shredded tenders. Green beans on the side. Great meal!! This is a true keeper!!
I've tried it with au jus packet, brown gravy packet, and mushroom gravy packet, they are all good but I'd have to say I like it with the mushroom gravy packet the best.
I love making this but first time I made it with beef I did it from memory I went by what I thought in the picture and added a block of cream cheese it made a great creamy sauce anytime I make this with whatever meat I add extra papers and the cream cheese
This is my first time watching & you crack me up! I always use salted butt. It makes everything better! I know this is an old video but you should try this same exact recipe but use a pot roast in place of the chicken & and maaaaan!!! You are going to love it & leftovers are even better the next day!!!!
Hautemomma1970 Love that you're enjoying the content! We based this chicken off of the original chuck roast. It's in the playlist...somewhere! It goes REALLY well in pork loin too!
I have this in the crockpot now. My store didn't have the peppers so I omitted them. Gonna make a hash brown casserole and maybe some green beans to go with it.
Im gonna try this today and put down dried noodles along with chicken broth at the end. Because I finally got my hands on the ranch-mix yesterday. Had to order it online on one (of two) Swedish website that sells USA-food ams snacks only. Sadly they only had 4 bags left on the ranch-mix (the other website had 0) so I bought all four and they told me that they are gonna bring home more so they have lots to sell.
Nicole Mazza Yes u can it's just gonna take a lil bit longer to cook... Might wanna use tenderloin tho.. Cuz you won't be able thoroughly clean any other type of chicken... Hope this helps
Cecilia Svensson here's a link for a recipe for homemade ranch dressing. hope it helps! www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ree-drummond/homemade-ranch-dressing-recipe
You could totally use leg quarters, what you have to watch out for is bone-in that it will probably take longer to cook. You want to make sure it reaches AT LEAST 165 degrees internal temperature. We prefer it to be at least 170 as we enjoy the texture of the meat better.
I live in Mississippi and this recipe is made with beef. Not sure who changed it to chicken the woman that came up with this recipe used beef not chicken. So it's really Mississippi beef. 😊
+Brenda Dickson "Do not rinse raw meat and poultry before cooking. "Washing these foods makes it more likely for bacteria to spread to areas around the sink and countertops," says Davidson." ~referenced from www.fda.gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm092815.htm#clean
Well, I've never washed my chicken, and now I'm in a predicament. Do I listen to random internet people that say I should wash the chicken? Or do I listen to the FDA that says it's a bad idea? That's a tough one...
+bruce livingston Listen to the FDA. Think about this, water splatters when it hits things, like meat. The water picks up whatever is on the meat and unless you clean your kitchen using a black light to catch every splatter, you'll never decontaminate the area affected. Now, you don't wash your chicken, then you season it or whatever, and you put it in your cooking vessel. The temperature alone will get rid of what could ail you. That's why you cook poultry to I believe 165° on the internal temp. It ensures you wiped out any microorganisms that may be on the chicken, without any splashing on your countertop, backsplash, floor, toaster....you get the picture. And I wanna know who thinks water kills or "washes off" the bad stuff. Elementary education taught us that soap does that...and I don't want my chicken tasting like Dove. (Bad pun intended). Great question!!! ~Mikey
I was a new subscriber, I was just asking a question, because I was taught to wash chicken before cooking this lesson came from a famiy member who works in a meat packing factory. I was not trying to be rude but you are
Cheryl Lee Hi Cheryl- Cris here. Today when Mikey was trying to answer your question we were in a location with very bad internet service which I'm guessing is why his response was so brief and gave the link for further info. I apologize. I know he was not trying to be rude because he was trying very hard to get you the link before our service went out. Your question is one we get a lot because a lot if people were taught to wash their chicken growing up. However, we follow FDA recommendations because we feel it is the safest way to handle chicken in the kitchen.
I had notice that you add the chickens right away to the pot. You should rinse them and on the other hand you should take out the fat fearful of the colestrol. Bon apetit and good luck.

To complete the dinner what sides would you put with this ?
I want to make this with bone in chicken thighs. How long would I slow cook for?
Can you use frozen chicken or does it have to be defrosted? (I'm somewhat new to crockpot cooking, so still learning some of the basics!)
Nicole Mazza Yes u can it's just gonna take a lil bit longer to cook... Might wanna use tenderloin tho.. Cuz you won't be able thoroughly clean any other type of chicken... Hope this helps

Don't use salted butter yall. That ranch and Au jus is already salty. Pepperoncini is saltier than everything.

Why didn't you wash the chicken?

I've heard that too and thought ain't that what hot water, Dawn and bleach is for?
I worked in a meat packing plant before.
Please, washer meat!
Peace
Chicken should always be washed with a little lemon juice and water. Sometime chicken can a little bloody.
