What about gas expense, I literally drove/drive about 45 - 50 miles a day, 7 days a week, all year and I do not get reimbursed.. where does that go in cash app?? I don't want to do it wrong

This is literally what I’m trying to figure out. I have a personal account and my parents gift me about 1000 to 1500 a month through cash app. Am I supposed to file taxes for this??? Does it count as income ?

Cash App tax is not perfect. On my 1099-DIV I have a couple of thousand dollars of state-exempt income included in Ordinary Dividends. As a subtraction amount it should be entered on Line 3 (for dividend) on California tax Schedule CA(540), it actually falls on Line 2 (for interest). Because I have only $300 of interest, if the subtraction amount is larger than the full interest amount, that may cause tax personnel's attention. I emailed Cash App tax support, they said "currently we do not support the Schedule CA Part I Line 3 subtraction". Although the error doesn't affect the tax liability, it make me upset because I don't want to file an amendment if the tax board comes to bother me.

I have a question for people okay I get disability and I have a cash app and like my family sends me a couple hours here and there do I have to file taxes
Are you asking if you have to pay taxes on the Cash App payments from family? Cash App doesn't report payments to the IRS unless they are business payments (they do report friends and family payments).
Are stocks and crypto included within the CashApp tax?
Yes, they do have the option to enter stocks and crypto.

@@SmartFamilyMoney I tried using CashApp for my tax return, I have special need for sale of a primary residence that used to be a rental. I was able to enter all info into Schedule D and form 8949 for capital gains and gain exclusion for period I lived in home
, but was unable to enter the depreciation recapture in Schedule D line 19. No clear way to do this. Bummer, looks like I will do my taxes by hand. I actually liked CashApp better than Tax Slayer.
@@mdob5724 Oh that's unfortunate! FreeTaxUSA is a nice inexpensive option. I don't have experience with those particular forms but I imagine it could handle it.

To get your refund? That depends on how fast the IRS is processing things. You can check the progress at the IRS website "where's my refund". www.irs.gov/refunds
@@SmartFamilyMoney it tells me to wait 24 hours for an acknowledgment email but in cashapp, it says accepted. It’s been 10 days and it’s my first time
What if you have more than one to file w2s?
It will ask you if you have another W-2 after you fill out your first one. And it will keep asking until all are filled I had 3 last year

Tax returns are always rounded. You can't use any cents.
Doing my taxes via cash app, on my W2 box 20 it says CASDI but cash app doesn’t accept it and says to move it to box 14 but My W2 is blank for boxes 13 and 14?

This app is a sorry piece of crap. I was going to do my taxes but it would not let me sign in at all and I tried several times and at different times, no good. I ended up going with tax hawk like I did last year and it worked great first try. I deleted the cash app and left a bad review like I am doing here. You get what paid for with an app that claims you can file for free, which is nothing. Worst tax app ever created.

Sounds like user error
First time I tried to set up an account, it wouldn't send the passcodes required (either to text or email) until about an hour later. By that time the codes had expired. Tried again later and it worked fine. But you have to be fast. A little more than 60 seconds time limit to enter the code would be nice.

What’s the longest a federal return can take via cashapp taxes?
Do you mean to get your tax refund? Once it's submitted, it's all up to the IRS (and it can take a while).
I got my refund in 6 days

No, you can only file your taxes once per year, unless you're filing an amendment (because something was wrong with the first one)
