  • This video I assemble the Manley rods and the pistons with King rod bearings. There is a correct orientation to keep in mind with the King bearings. Especially if you are using an aftermarket crankshaft.

    Good thing I looked I would have assumed the Upper part of the rod was the CAP guess it makes sense when you think about

    Thank you for making this! It will help me a lot when I assemble my 4.6 build.

    My pin won’t go into the rod small bore. Any advice?

      Some pins are press in, you may need to take them to a machine shop for installation. Or you can purchase a rod heater

      @@JohnSmithRacing do press in rods have the brass bushing ?

      @@BulliKid I don't usually build engines with the press in style but I would think they do not have bushings. What rods are you using? Are they aftermarket or stock?

    So just to ask. because I'm doing a turbo build currently, and I'm going to end up doing rods/pistons/ crank and whatnot but with all of the sizes and rod length etc when buying aftermarket H beam rods, how do you know what size to get if you just want to keep it factory spec?

    • @JohnSmithRacing
      @JohnSmithRacing  2 года назад

      Yes, the factory rod length is 5.933 and the piston is for 3.552 cylinder.

    What made you go Manley vs say a eagle complete roaring forged assembly? I want to boost and rebuild my 03 Looking for best bang for my buck

      I feel like Manley and Diamond have the best products. However, I have used Eagle for engines below 700 whp and those engines are still running.

    Are these the same type of rods that the 4v’s have? And if so can I just get them from a termi engine and put them in the 2v?

    • @JohnSmithRacing
      @JohnSmithRacing  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, the 4V and 2V rods are interchangeable as well as the pistons. Well, the pistons on the 2V and press fit but you can use the 4V rotating assembly in the 2V. If you use the 4V flat top pistons you will increase compression as well. It's recommended to get the rotating assembly balanced if you change either of them.

    Do Manley rods come with those bearing things

    • @JohnSmithRacing
      @JohnSmithRacing  Месяц назад +1

      No, the bearings are sold separately.
