2016 was definitely the end of an era, but the debut of 7 young players helped cement our success over the next couple of years -- where that young core has flourished into some senior stars. Isaac Heeney, Callum Mills and Tom Papley are arguably 3 of our most important players.
Who we lost from our finals run:
Zak Jones - Traded to St. Kilda
Dan Hannebery - Traded to St. Kilda (St. Kilda trades net Gould, Taylor)
Toby Nankervis - Traded to Richmond (pick 46, net Jack Maibaum), wins 3 Premierships
Tom Mitchell - Traded to Hawthorn with Pick 52 for (Pick 14 and 57, then traded for Pick 9 [Oliver Florent]), Wins 2018 Brownlow
    Kieren Jack - Retired
    Jarrad McVeigh - Retired
Xavier Richards - Hilariously Requested a failed trade (Homesick) to Melbourne, before getting delisted and joining the Sydney University Team
    Ted Richards - Retired
    Ben McGlynn - Retired
    Heath Grundy - Retired
    Nick Smith - Retired
Jeremy Laidler - Retired to become Development Coach
Kurt Tippett - Retired due to injury
Gary Rohan - Traded for Pick 62, net Ryan Clarke
Overall, it was a sublime season for the Sydney Swans.
Some highlighted stats from the year:
    15 wins, 151%
1st in kicks, 2nd in Handballs, 1st in Points Conceded and Scores per inside 50, 1st in Contested Possessions, 1st in Inside 50s, 2nd in Contested Marks, 1st in Rebound 50s, 1st in Stoppage Clearances.
Co-captains in 2016 were Jarrad McVeigh and Kieren Jack. Grundy, Rampe, Hanners, Kennedy, Smith and Parker round out the leadership group.

This is a fantastic edit. This is one of best teams (along with Coll 2011) to never win a GF. You never look back at runner years in restrospect but the highlights in the season are worth of the hours worth of video you got hear. Really well done.

We were robbed period. Umps did everything in their power to make sure we lost that Granny in 2016. It was clear as day

Great video. What a team, what a season. With the great oldheads, the firecracker young-guns, and the absolute star that was Lance 'Buddy' Franklin. So stiff to miss out on a flag; I was only 10 so can't comment on the robbery 😅Can't wait for this years finals. C'arn the Bloods!

Fantastic recap on a wonderful team. Naysayers whinging b****especially about how poor Sydney has been over that period where they virtually never missed finals.
    "What a pathetic team!"
No lovers, you commentators are the pathetic ones. You couldn't be more wrong. Only Dunstall saw the possibilities & reality.
