I test rode both the Interceptor 650 and the dominar 400 2019. Both are good bikes, but ultimately I booked the Dominar 400. Brand image/Macho image aside, its just the better bike. Its lighter, faster and turns/brakes better. And for the price its way better value for money. The new exhaust sound on the Dominar is a dream come true. With a savings of around 50-60k over the Interceptor 650, i went for a world class helmet like Caberg Duke II(19k) and full riding gear like jackets, gloves,guards etc. Still got 25k left for a tour/trip. Spend your money wisely guys.......unless ur rich, then u can buy whatever u want :)
I'd go with Dominar as its a bike that can be used easily in city as well as tours.. it gets every possible tech for a bike of this segment at a price considerably less than Interceptor.. Interceptor is a lifestyle vehicle. Good only for weekend rides. Moreover, we don't know how reliable is Interceptor in long term.. Dominar has proved its metal already
So the verdict? I'd still go with Dominar despite the displacement and power. Much lesser price and all the modern technology that a youth would want. Dominar is still a bargain.
Is it a feasible machine interms of maintenance and mileage for daily commute and occasional long ride ..I was thinking to buy one and the final list includes dominor Himalayan mojo thunderbird 350x and duke 200 /250 ..liked the BMW 310 but out of class due to his heavy price point...pretty confused ..is it worth buying 650 paying a higher premium of 1 lac and adjusting a lower mileage from above mentioned list..considering the quality of 650.. whether 650 satisfies desire for higher upgradation
Also regarding the bike delivery, I booked on the launch day and I got my bike in hand today. So the February, march thing told by sales person are only the maximum date because it's better to surprise you with good news than to disappoint you with bad news. I was told I will get my bike in February only but got it on December first week itself.

Gear shifting, breaking, suspension all have improved a lot in 2019 Dominar. Power is also increased by 5PS. And vibrations are also considerably less. Still it cant beat Interceptor. But considering the price, hands down I would go for Dominar.
Bulu bhai I’m a big fan of yours and also an interceptor owner. Let me assure you what you said about pillion comfort needs to be revisited...koi pillion rider comfortable nahi hai is bike pe...reason being the high rise foot peg leading to an awkward knee angle. But what you said in the end is true....it brings a smile every time i ride :)
Very good video Bulu Biker. How does Interceptor deal with headwinds and crosswinds? My experience with Bajaj products (Avenger 220 & NS200) have not been great in this criteria.

dominar is best bike in terms of quality performance styling durability and its advantage of liquid cooling and its digital console like any smartphone style and its 2018 version has very minimum vibration and its perimeter frame makes the bike handling so much good and give confident at high speed and its so stable at high speed

You forgot to mention about Vibrations. Dominar is full of vibrations. Riding at speeds of 120-130 kph, Dominar will give you a lot of vibrations. On the other hand, Interceptor will be very smooth at speeds of 120-130 kph since it is a twin-cylinder engine.
@@shoaibkolkata yep..you are right..earlier when my bike was new like 4000km old, i used to feel vibrations from 4.5k-5k rpm..but now i have almost ridden 10000km and now my bike is almost smooth..there are no vibrations which i used to feel before when my bike was new.. Can the local puncture walla can remove the puncture of the interceptor as i have heard due to ABS and dual exhausts its not possible for the local puncture walla to fix the tire puncture
It won’t matter. U can get puncture resolved but, make sure your ABS ring & ABS sensor has proper gap( atleast a coin shud pass) before you actually get riding again.
tall riders ke liye bilkul bhi sahi nhi hai interceptor because of its sitting posture. Lagta aisa hai ki sidha baithe hai but your knees bend so much that you do have to lean to the handles bars but the handles bars are not meant to be leaned on so overall it becomes very uncomfortable if your are taller than 5 11 because the footpegs are situated further back. Its a shame because the bike is absolutely bang on with the price and features but definitely lacks ergonomics for tall riders
Dominar have good frame. Better ride quality in road. But Twin always twin and price for RE650 better option. So i think RE650 better for money.and minimal electronic.

@@abdulfariz69 you'd have to get used to the weight, in the beginning it's very hard, but it gets easier, but the one thing that pinches me the most about the bike is that it's a little bit limited, it's not a take it anywhere anytime kind of a bike, also for the price of an Interceptor you could get a fully loaded Himalayan, with panniers top box fog lights etc. And even riding gear. I'd suggest Himalayan or KTM 390 adventure. But despite all this, it's got amazing power and is amazing on the highway as well, I don't regret my decision to buy the bike, but nevertheless if everything goes right this year, I might be buying a 2nd hand Himalayan as well, you can get them for very low prices.

Bulu Bhai totally biased review. After selling Dominar for more than a year he has nothing but average things to say about Dominar.. No negatives to say about interceptor
Doesn't matter even if I sell my Dominar, Bajaj always gives me a Dominar for all my trips... So one way they are sponsoring my past rides as well as some future rides r also coming up, and they like me because of my honest feedback...

Can the local puncture walla can remove the puncture of the interceptor as i have heard due to ABS and dual exhausts its not possible for the local puncture walla to fix the tire puncture
Puncture is an issue
It won’t matter. U can get puncture resolved but, make sure your ABS ring & ABS sensor has proper gap( atleast a coin shud pass) before you actually get riding again.

tall riders ke liye bilkul bhi sahi nhi hai interceptor because of its sitting posture. Lagta aisa hai ki sidha baithe hai but your knees bend so much that you do have to lean to the handles bars but the handles bars are not meant to be leaned on so overall it becomes very uncomfortable if your are taller than 5 11 because the footpegs are situated further back. Its a shame because the bike is absolutely bang on with the price and features but definitely lacks ergonomics for tall riders

Dominar have good frame. Better ride quality in road. But Twin always twin and price for RE650 better option. So i think RE650 better for money.and minimal electronic.

@@abdulfariz69 you'd have to get used to the weight, in the beginning it's very hard, but it gets easier, but the one thing that pinches me the most about the bike is that it's a little bit limited, it's not a take it anywhere anytime kind of a bike, also for the price of an Interceptor you could get a fully loaded Himalayan, with panniers top box fog lights etc. And even riding gear. I'd suggest Himalayan or KTM 390 adventure. But despite all this, it's got amazing power and is amazing on the highway as well, I don't regret my decision to buy the bike, but nevertheless if everything goes right this year, I might be buying a 2nd hand Himalayan as well, you can get them for very low prices.
