Hey I got a 96 C2500 with the L65 and I'm wanting to see what you might think maybe wrong with it. When I start the truck up the rpms go up to 3500+ but then comings down and the idle goes back and forth between 800-1200rpms. No CEL but there was a hard stored code of P0219. The smoke out of the exhaust is black. Replaced PMD with a Leroy, LP has been replaced. Air filter and fuel filter replaced with WIX.
@@gingersnapcustoms thank you for the help. That's what I was thinking. I got some injectors coming as well as an injection pump. Crazy this thing has 250k+ on it and has no blowby.
@@gingersnapcustoms even on the factory cooler? Do you happen to know what the factory setup was? I believe the rear line on block goes to the left side of cooler.(looking at the cooler from the front)
@@korbinstudnicki3510 unfortunately it’s been so long I don’t remember. I never looked when I did casper 10 years ago so if it only flows one way, it would have killed the engine by now. The walk around video of the 98 engine I had was still complete. Cooler and all. Possibly reference that.
Looking to do any oil cooler and lines replacement on my 1998 c2500 6.5 same filter housing location as Casper. Did you have to removed the drivers side exhaust manifold to do the updating? Was it hard to remove the old line fittings from the block. Should I use Teflon tape on the new oil cooler lines threads?
I have a 2000 6.5 and its not getting enough fuel even with the feed the beast mod installed. Any fixes i could try? I also have a hx35 turbo swap. It sits at 12 psi at idle and drops to around 1 - 1.5 psi around 3300-3500 rpm
Whats the chances theres a video of yours i missed showing the parking brake ?gotta replace the cable but the dash lights been engaged after changing the master cylinder no idea where it goes to cant wait for this upgrade tho
Hi buddie, did it help your truck run cooler? Just noticing few weeks ago after owning the truck for 5 years previous owner removed/deleted oil cooler which makes sense why truck starts to get hot driving mountain pass carrying a camper.
Courtland you are the best!
I hope this helps with your current situation
How long is that 2 lines?
The oil cooler lines? I would have to measure.

Sounds to me like the injection pump is junk. That’s the other reason they get that idle.

Does the line furthest back(above filter) go into the right or left side of oil cooler connection? If your looking at the truck from the front.
It doesn’t matter. The coolers can go either way.

It’s not a bad job. I left the manifolds and cross over on. The clips come right out and I use pipe thread paste.
Sucks that its $245 for just 2 little oil lines incl shipping. I know its a quality product but damn
As someone that’s blown out a cheap set and the GM replacements. I’ll spend $245 to save me from buying an engine again.
@@gingersnapcustomsJust received mine to install. Feel good about it thanks

Put a Fass lift pump on it and tune. How do you know it isn’t making enough fuel? Did you put a gauge and verify pressure?
Do you just replace the cooler lines or should I also upgrade the oil cooler?
I do both anymore. The cost of the kit isn’t horribly different from Leroy diesel or Quadstar to do the lines and cooler.

I’ve never done one on that unfortunately. If the parking brake light is on then you need to bleed the ABS again.

It’s helped keep oil temps down and makes the oil life last longer. Diesels need that.
