although black mesa looks really good by source engine standards, it lacks some basic graphic effects such as ambient occlusion, parallax occlusion or dynamic reflections (because regular cubemaps look terrible) and some textures in the game are definitely too low resolution. but i still think black mesa is the prettiest source 1 game ever
There are cases where I'm CPU limited for sure. Especially at 1440p which is where I play. You can tell when you're CPU limited pretty easily. If you're not hitting your desired frame rate and yet GPU utilization is say at 85% then you're CPU limited. I'll be upgrading to a 9950x in the fall.
@@mopeybloke I've set a frame rate limit to 140 fps to stay within my monitors sync range. When fps dips below 140 fps and GPU utilization is below 100% then I am CPU limited. Low CPU utilization is not a good indicator of not being CPU limited as most of that is inaccessible multithreading performance from extra/idle cores.

The game crashes with new ui on startup logo, incl bshift. How to fix? 1050ti Win10, BMS NecroPatch ver. Playing with gamepad, old game's ui is unplayable this way!
@@AMD718 So this is common event it seems. Then issue is going to be fixed soon I guess. By the way did you noticed any significant differences between Vulkan and native DX9?
@@001firebrand yes, for me the frame rate is significantly improved with dxvk. Unfortunately, I am experiencing some serious shader compilation stutter which does clear up after some playtime but is highly distracting in the meantime

Игра лицензионная? Если пиратка попробуйте переустановить игру,если игра у вас в Steam попробуйте проверить целостность игровых файлов. А в идеале вы должны написать характеристики вашего компьютера,чтобы покончить с вылетом на заставке: Crowbar Collective мне достаточно узнать ваш GPU

Looking good! I wonder its still works with VR mod?
Frame rate looks significantly more stable, albeit lower than before? Still some shader compilation stutter. Might give it a rerun soon.

I am thinking you might be CPU limited. I was CPU limited at 1080/1440P with a 5800X/3080 12GB, and your GPU is much faster.

@@AMD718 Wait, but pushing more pixels should make you more GPU-bound. I run this game at 1080p and even then GPU utilisation is way higher than CPU.

My BM does not start with Vulkan (( crashes at Crowbar logo screen. What could it be?
Not sure but did you check the steam discussion threads? Seems others were having crashes with Vulkan dxvk as well. No problems for me

Is this using all 32 cores?
CPU usage is about 16% or 17% so it's using no more than 6 cores by the math, unless it's not fully loading those cores.
