Looking back at some of my photos from the past I saw a couple pictures of the state champion cherrybark oak taken 8 September 2004. I remember going to Heron Pond and the boardwalk, I just wasn't sure if I had actually visited the big tree or just saw the signs. Well, that confirms I was there! I don't know how I failed to remember a tree like that🤔. That was about the time I started riding on Tunnel Hill trail, which I haven't done in a long time now. Not sure if I even came by bike or drove on that visit. I don't remember seeing a single snake there either, let alone a serpent multitude like you encountered. Well, thanks for the in-depth video that showed me all that I've forgotten over the last twenty years. I think it might be time for a return visit.
A lot of folks pass by snakes and not even notice them. We look for them haha
At the 18:38 minute, was that a trail camera? Pretty awesome looking place. Thanks for the video.
No. Those are homemade bird houses for warblers. They're doing a study on them there.
I thought you lived in Hurst
I grew up there and lived there for a long time. I've lived in Massac County for a few year now with my fiancé.
Rat snakes are far more impressive than their name implies
I agree!
