01 / YULE - the first pagan sabbat
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 17 апр 2015
- YULE is the first pagan sabbat, the first day of winter and a common pagan New Year. Most usually it falls on the 21st of December. How did pagan Yule become Christian Christmas?

I have learned so much about about the true meaning behind YULE thru watching this video film. I love to hear about it’s earliest origins and the connection between the Earth Mother and her Child the Sun. There are so many fascinating aspects to the YULE Story which I was so regrettably unaware of but as a Pagan myself now feel more enlightened in!
Blessed Be. 💫🖤⭐️♥️🌙🖤💫

Happy winter solstice good people that care of this earth. Candles been lite, firewood being cut, offerings out. Dinner in the oven, honey mead Odin waiting to be drank. Frankincense resin light to clear our work day. Follow the noble virtues.
And the Noble virtues need to be included in the story. For our well-being, we need companionship, sharing, eating together, kindness and benevolence towards one another. I'm sure there is more. Please add...

Traditionally, Yule was held on the shortest day of the year. On the Solstice. Yule is the celebration of the Sun returning after the days of darkness and the shortest day of the year marks the turning point. The celebration often lasted three days.
On the winter solstice, the sun appears on the same degree on the horizon for 3 days. On any other day, the sun moves 1 degree every day as it appears on the horizon. The sun=sol stands still=stice. So it was said it had died and resurrected back into life after the 3 days. It is the hemisphere of the earth turning back closer to the sun rather than the sun moving. At the same time as the other hemisphere starts towards its winter. Just to clarify the significance of the three days celebration.
@@jasoncox7257 Thank you for this 😊
@@bigmort6916 You are welcome happy Yule.
@@jasoncox7257 could we also add that Solstice begins at sundown on 21 bringing us 3 full days 22, 23, 24, then on the morning of the 25 the rising sun is the Dies Natalis Solis Invicti, Birthday of the Invincible Sun. BTW, your presentation is so enjoyable. Best one yet to make it all tie together. I see why Christians tied it together the way they did. Because birth is so valuable, mysterious, hopeful, the birth of a child gets included. I just wish the birth of all children could be, in fact should be held in such regard
@@wendysinclair-smith984 Absolutely. The Christian church had the problem of people knowing and enjoying the pagan festival and new year, I believe. It's certainly an astronomical new year. So they pasted Xmas over the top, same as building on pagan sacred places. The Vatican is an inheritor of lots of pagan ideas. Druids forced to "convert" infiltrating to survive. Fusion/merging/ ideas refusing to die and the Greenman in church in testament.
Gods sun/son is born again. The birthday of the gods.
As the church lost it's death grip on knowledge the dragons are well out of the bag and we are allowed once again to honour our own ancestral path rather than grovelling to alien gods forced upon our people.
In synchronicity Aquarius moves in to rebel against Piscean rigid systems, timely.
This was a well paced, informative and enjoyable video, thanks!

Thank you so much for uploading this. I LOVE learning of our pagan past. We could learn much from our ancestors' reverence of the earth and its power and beauty. I would welcome a return to simplicity without all this nasty and profit-driven commercialism. I thoroughly enjoyed watching and learning. A merry Jule to you and all who care for Mother Earth.

In Estonia we call it jõulud. And santa claus is jõuluvana.
The “three wise men, visiting baby Jesus” is found in the Ajanta Cave complex in India, where the three Persian Magi came from the West to visit baby Buddha’s birth with virgin Maya at Yule. This was several hundred years prior to invention of Christianity.

Jul, Joulu in my native Suomi, meant simply, “wheel” but was understood metaphysically to mean the wheel of the year, i.e., the pivot point. 100% wrong- Kekri, which Xians later absorbed into “Halloween,” did involve a goat. Suommonescu (sometimes called Vainamoinen, after one of our shaman-Gods) is the only unbroken chain of Paganism in Europe. We never had quite the harsh repression of Pagans that happened elsewhere. I do appreciate the reconstruction by British aristocrats on the 19th Century of what is now known as Wicca and the attempt of modern neopagans to reconstruct Forn Sidr, but our tradition goes back at least 8,000 years, so, lady, please don’t tell me how it is.

Yule is the Germanic winter celebration and it was NOT held on on the solstice, the Germanic tribes did NOT have any celebration on any solstice at all. Yule was held on the first full moon fallowing the first new moon after the solstice, they used the solstices as a marker but did not celebrate on them they celebrated by counting full moons it was not a lunar calendar but a solar lunar calendar. The reason for this was purely agricultural and they wher as far as I know one of the first people to include a leap year.
This description of the solar lunar tradition sounds exactly like Chinese, or rather Asian New Year. What sorts of traditions did they use for the celebration time?

Why have you incorporated the word "sabat"....into yule ?..don't do it !...
Spiritdove sabat means in Hebrew the end of the week which is a Saturday not a Sunday ! Nothing to do with Yule
Pagan Sabbat
The Pitchfork Pipe and Drum>>> exactly. Shabbat is a day of rest also. It belongs to the Abrahamic mono-theist cult, not paganism not close.
Sabbat is used for all types of holidays, the Wicca Calendar calls all of its holidays Sabbats. It is not just for the Christian people to use nor did he use the incorrect term.
Bobby Millican >>>> Thank you!
You can really see how all these pagan deities thruout time have been worshipped along with that of nature....instead of worshipping the creator...
Get out of here you Jehovah's witness. I can't stop laughing. No religion is built on as many lies as your cult and you have the audacity to come here and criticize these people.
P.S don't leave your children alone with the elders lol
