i agree there are alot of non makeup great song and eric carr was a great drumer and i really like the revenge album with the current peter criss imposter eric singer lol!,my first time seeing kiss was this tour at nassau colliseium then the reunion shows with the original lineup in makeup kicking serious ass then the first farewell tour with the original lineup also kicking ass with peter playing some non makeup stuff which was cool.
After I got married in 93 I told my wife if we ever had a son his name would be Eric- she wasn’t a fan of it but July 29th I got my son Eric ❤❤❤❤R.I.P 😢
This lineup is the best one for quality of musicians. Eric and Bruce played at a level that no one ever had. Bruce Kulick is a great guitarist. He’s spent almost the last 20 years as the guitarist for GRF (Grand Funk Railroad).
After Ace and Peter, Gene and Paul just wanted to employ 'yes men', hence Bruce's lack of personality. Having said that, he's a great player and a great fella, it's just that in the band, he wasn't allowed to let his own personality flourish. Gene and Paul demanded all the limelight. Eric was easily Kiss's best drummer. In fact both Bruce and Eric were by far their best musicians.
As a fan since the early days, I have to say, Kiss should have stuck with Bruce and kept the make-up off. Kiss today is a sad parody of what they once were. Interestingly, even though I preferred Kiss during their first five or six albums, my favourite members were/are Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick.
Kiss today are senior citizens. They should be retired. So my suggestion is to just pretend they are retired... while others continue to pay them because they still give a shit. Its pretty simple.
Rubber-Johnny day I say, Bruce and Eric Carr were the best guys for Kiss in performance and look...They made Kiss their most professional and tight. They’re certainly my favorites to stand beside Gene and Paul.
This is NOT the full version because songs like: Fits like a glove and War Machine was also performed at Budok Hall in 88’. Which this video isn’t including(according to the description of it). So this is just a big fat pile of clickbait.
He would be in band because Paul & Gene hold him in high regard still. Out of respect for Ace, he won’t consider wearing the Space Man outfit & makeup and Ace really appreciated that.
ghsghsuidghuisd true, one thing I’ve learned over the years is if the songs are too fast you run out of songs really fast. I played with this dude that could physically play ANYTHING! Double kick from hell and had hand chops. We hired him and we had our sets all set to do four one hour sets in clubs. After the first set on the first night we were literally fifteen minutes shy of the hour. We left the stage and the manager came up and said “”Hey you guys cut the set by 15 minutes”. I knew he was playing too fast and the next set I spent between every song saying “SLOW THIS SHIT DOWN”. He slowed down but I spent every show dealing with it. Lick it Up on this video is soooo fast. I get it, there’s energy but you have to settle in. Eric was a sweet dude, I spent some time with him back in the day and he has so NOT a Gene or Paul “Rock God”. He was just a New York kid that landed the dream of a lifetime! Killer video, thanks for posting!
This line-up was a functional combo but that's all it was, in the sense that Bruce is more of a studio player than a suitable live performer. It wasn't extraordinary, musically a low point for Kiss (mid/late-80s). Bruce was there for needed sound stability, like Tommy now. They're hired guns.
Sorry, but wrong. Bruce and Eric saved the band from uncertainty. They were GREAT live performers, as well as musicians. And they put out great music in the mid to late 80’s. “Musically a low point for KISS” is the biggest laugh I’ve heard all year.
I would have preferred Bruce as the Space Ace he has more character and plays like a real musian but Tommy on the other hand tries way to hard to play Ace.. He has no creativity.
Don't care what people think...this here (unmasked) is still THE best version of KISS!
+Alex Van Hagar No fucking way. lol

I was here with them at this time. Front of second floor seat.
fantastic ! I love when Kiss are Unmasked ^^
+Amaranth Leonhart For me Kiss still wear make-up also in the 80's... but more like women... they wear eye-shadows...
I was there!

Thanks. This was great
"saludos" deescoriza
Glory days!
Today this concert was a 36 years ago wow
A highly underrated version of the band. Pauls vocal are terrific here. Bruce has come into his own. Eric is keeping the band together musically.
Um dos grandes shows do kiss. Só faltou ''REASON TO LIVE''...
Obrigado por postar esse show !!! Demais época boa 🤘🤘🤘
KISS. 2022
that suit Bruce is wearing is so pimp!
Best KISS concert I'd ever seen.
Nick Kiss So how many have you actually seen?

Thanks for this babe ;)

😊😊😊😊
Excluding the Original this is the best line up imo, band sounds very tight, and backing vocals spot on
amo essa banda
Always thought Bruce was really good but lacked good stage presence. He can rip on the ax though. Also, Carr is the best musician Kiss has ever had.
After Ace and Peter, Gene and Paul just wanted to employ 'yes men', hence Bruce's lack of personality. @leftyonedonny agreed
Amo a ezza banda Kiss #. 1
Kiss at their worst (today) is better than GNR at their best.
I saw this tour in Cleveland.

But they've made a fortune since... that was not the case during unmasked era. It's all about money.
Kiss today are senior citizens. They should be retired. So my suggestion is to just pretend they are retired... while others continue to pay them because they still give a shit. Its pretty simple.

I've got the very same point of view
Kiss is 🔥.
Damn good players.😃
The title of the vid and the subtitle says Budokan but when the band are announced its says Tokyo ?
does the full show exist was this a tv special in japan ?
And the Eric Carr drum solo.
+Mr. Stas Yes!!

War machine is in the description
you can tell gene was dying to put the makeup back on when he was using that bass.
Agreed
They look like they're doing aerobics.
Bob Townsend 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you are totally right man
They tried too hard in the 80s. Running, jumping, screaming and being hysterical. It's hard watching Paul thinking he's in a gym class.
Paul's mic was volume down in some songs.
ERIC CARR ON DRUMS❤❤❤
Paul trying so hard be david lee roth. Jumping, topless. Same costume, etc Gene jumping around trying same tobe van halen band
… and failing
Tom Scholtz was running Bruce's guitar sound...and Lamont from Sanford & Son's, dressed Bruce.
#SoundsOfPiss
Bruce outfit - "A" for effort
I wonder if Bruce would've still worn the suit, if he was in kiss instead of tommy, as a costume
He would be in band because Paul & Gene hold him in high regard still. Out of respect for Ace, he won’t consider wearing the Space Man outfit & makeup and Ace really appreciated that.
Your missing loads.....it's not full.
I agree, it's too fast most of the time. But who cares, it's history.

+Broncopotamus There is no way that YOU are straight ! ... Your mom's fault !
You're funny

@@franciscojavierlopezjorge4835 so little one chord every minute

Gene's kicks are downright embarrassing!
I cant watch anymore of this. The music is great. The moves are horrible. So glad Kiss put the make up back on
8:07 Led Zeppelin
I think Bruce Kulick is a great player but I don't like his interpretation of the solo's.
Paul Stanley makes me cringe! He should have just been a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader.
Lame setlist. I woulda been pi$$ed if I paid to goto this show and got this.
Not as good as ace
I would have preferred Bruce as the Space Ace he has more character and plays like a real musian but Tommy on the other hand tries way to hard to play Ace.. He has no creativity.
Why did Eric Carr always play the songs like he had to catch the last train. Way to rushed and hurried.
Foi o pedido dos chefes.
Verdadeiro Eric Carr é o do Creatures of the night,Lick it Up e do show ao vivo em Sydney 1980
Needless & forgettable noodling lead guitar…
