Now this is waht i want to see in miniwargaming. Diferent games. I play Star wars legion and Marvel crisis protocol i follow your channel for years so seeing you guys starting to play this games is the best thing ever :D keep it up
Glad to see Legion from you all! I'm sure its been mentioned but just in case a couple small things I noticed:
First: Firing ranges are measured unit leader to closest model in target unit, not model by model (But LoS is model by model)
Second: Vehicle units maintain the same facing as the unit leader.
Third: Dooku's Fear, Surprise, and Intimidation card unfortunately doesn't allow you to Saber and Lightning the same target in close combat as Lightning lacks melee as a range (A mistake I personally have made before). But maybe next time try Saber throw to do a big nuke from range 2 on that turn!
As the lightning gains versatile it is allowed to be used in either melee or ranged combat.
@@garethholman1050 Versatile allows it to attack out of melee. But as per the rules reference "A weapon with the versatile that is not also a melee weapon cannot be used to perform a melee attack" pg 85, current Rules Reference.

I've recently started my first MESBG league, and in a few weeks I plan to start my first Legion league. So after 3 videos this channel is already a god send 🤣
Couple extra rules clarifications I haven’t seen mentioned.
1.) When seeing if a unit panics, they can use the courage value of a friendly commander unit at range 3 instead of there own. This doesn’t effect if they are suppressed or not, just the panic threshold.
2.) the droids could not have withdrawn from Vader since they did not have an order. AI: attack would have kicked in and they would have been forced to attack, which means they couldn’t move away after as it takes your entire activation to withdraw from melee.
You could have accomplished a similar effect though by moving dooku towards Vader and force pushing him out of combat.
I'm a legion player primarily and would love to see more batreps like this one, thanks!

Love to see y’all are playing legion! I have loved watching y’all for a long time. And I have loved warhammer for a long time. But I enjoy legion a lot more and love that it’s spreading so well!
One thing I did notice is the turn the b1 unit whmithdrew from vader. They didn’t have a face up order token so their AI would kick in causing them to attack. Meaning they couldnt withdraw. But over all. Good game. :)

Just an fyi, Hunter only gives an aim when shooting at an injured mini. It does not provide an aim if shooting at a unit that just has a mini that was killed. Ex. shooting at Dukoo after he takes a wound gives you an aim. Shooting at a B1 unit that already had a mini killed does not provide an aim.
On the card it states a wounded trooper unit not individual model.
@@MrGunnar177 yeah but a unit that is missing a model is not considered wounded. It only comes into effect against multi wound models on a unit with more than one miniature

Awesome game guys. Happy to see you guys having fun with it. Few things I noticed that I didn't see pointed out else where in the comments so far.
When a unit is making a ranged attack the range is measured from the attacking unit's leader to at least 1 model in the defending unit. Line of sight is measured by each individual attacking mini. If half or most of the defending unit is behind LoS blocking terrain the unit is in heavy cover.
When Maul was touching the rock and made the ranged attack on the stormtroopers so long as he can see the models he now ignores the heavy cover granted by the rock.
For units with deflect that have an available dodge token if they are being shot at they can still spend a dodge to trigger deflect and gain surge to defense even if only critical damage is rolled. The only thing is though is that they won't stop any damage with the actual dodge token.
For the captain upgrade on the stormtroopers you may choose to trigger it at the start of that unit's activation before the rally step occurs. If you use it, you skip the rally step and do not remove any suppression tokens. Your unit for the rest of it's activation now can perform it's normal 2 actions because it is "no longer" suppressed for this activation.
Hope these things help clear up any confusion about those rules. Have fun playing gents.

So happy to see some SW legion!!! great game. BTW very important when you measure range for shooting, if the leader is in range for the squad, then everyone one is in range even if they are far away. But the other minis in the squad still have to have their LoS to the target. looking forward for more games! might have to come see you guys to play against my clones!

Never actually watched a game of this before....always loved the minis, always really enjoy MWG boards and BATREPs....and most importantly is Luca and Kenny make everything fun...these two guys are a blast....I know that 40k pays the bills but I am getting bored of 40k...I still love narrative stuff but now I realise that there is just so much more games out there.....in the future I could go for a Zona Alfa campaign as I have just started watching these....I think MWG could make a super sweet campaign...I really enjoyed all the This is Not a Test Campaigns you guys did

an Empire list, go next time with an Operative Vader..faster and just as dangerous. Also cheaper. Use an Imperial Officer as the leader. Maybe include Dewbacks for Melee..works well with Vader
Maul is one of the best units in the game, granted his shadowcollective in my opinion is better but operative Maul when used right is a deadly. Juyo mastery is one of the strongest keywords in the game allowing you to double move, attack, recover, dodge, standy is insanely good. I would definitely scratch up on the rules though granted they are ever changing but a lot of things were done iffy in the game that did impact the result. Other than that GG
check the points update in the rulebook. B1's, for example, are 38 instead of 36
YEAH, Legion. I cringed a little bit on rules mistakes, but you guys are playing sort of your first games and it was still very enjoyable.

Star wars legion is so much fun
All range from weapons are measured from unit leader to closet enemy model! not model-model, also when running into combat, your unit leader has to base contact the enemy unit leader
“If a unit has a melee weapon, it can start a melee by moving into base contact with an enemy miniature. To start a melee, a player must follow these steps in order:
Move Unit Leader: The player performs a move, moving their unit leader into base contact with an enemy mini.”
I like this game better than Warhammer keep it the great work!
Also, I’m sure that you probably know this by now, already, but you use a Victory Token, to mark the bounty :)

12:46 light cover doesn't stack. Suppression increases your cover by 1 but otherwise cover doesnt stack

Speeder Bikes have 3 health each, that turn 1 shot from the Droidekas should have only put a wound on a bike.

Looks neat, I don't fully understand the dice though.
D6 dice are for defence, D8 dice are for attack.
Red dice have the most sides with paint, white the least. Black falls in the middle (there are no black defense dice).
The surge icon can be turned into a success if the unit has the relevant surge bonus, otherwise it is considered blank.
Criticals are better than regular hits (ignore cover, damage vehicle armour).
first game of SW ive watched, cant really see the point of the special dice d6's seem fine.
Those "Heavy" tokens are actually "Support" tokens...
Yeah count dooku can't use his lightning and melee attack in the same turn. You can only attack once per turn and you can't shoot in a melee.
Luka you cant saber punch AND lightning in mellee!! The lightning is range 1-2 not mellee/1-2!!! Otherwise nice batrep nice to see some legion on the channel!
Technically because of dookus command card he could have used his lightning agaisnt another unit at range 1-2 though

I am very new to Star wars Legion and I thought you couldn't double move. Am I wrong here?
You are, you can double move but cannot double any other action, such as shoot, aim, dodge etc

Dooku 'n Maul don't have relentless tho 'n a lil advice: Enemy can't shoot at ya if ya in melee with a unit so maybe keep vader in combat 'n choke someone outside the brawl next time :P
Oh 'n droids are actually not affected by suppression when it comes to fear/fleeing :P
So, I'll address this one point at a time, assuming you're talking about specific things in our game: Maul and Dooku don't have relentless, however Maul DOES have Juyo mastery which is what allowed him to double move and attack, and Dooku's command card Fear, Surprise and Intimidation gave him relentless for the turn. Enemies can't shoot at you in melee however they can just withdraw which effectively removes the same number of activations as killing the unit outright, so both are viable answers. Lastly, droids aren't affected by the Suppressed condition but they DO flee when they have double their courage in suppression. I hope this helps!

Your bounty token is a stand by token
Yeah we couldn't remember which token was a bounty token and just grabbed one, I realized it was a standby halfway through turn one but it was too late, the camera had caught it
Shame MWG pushes this awesome game off onto a second channel, while keeping GW shite all over the main channel.
Are the characters actually as nuts as they seem? To this untrained eye, it seemed that units just stood about playing the game while the chars did everything and anything. Like old school warhammer fantasy.
Characters are important, but not as nuts as they seem. Often times character can be dealt with if given the adequate amount of attention. What is important to remember in SW Legion is that the game is objective based so that helps when it comes to super scary characters like Vader or Grevious. Some characters can do a lot of damage and seem OP when put in the right scenario, however they can't be everywhere and are adequately expensive. In my opinion, the support characters that exist in the game are some of the more annoying and possibly problematic ones.
@@daltoneverhardt377 Yea thanks for the indepth answer, Boba was another stand out in this game (or so it seemed to me) just so many strong sounding rules. This first game ive ever seen of this, come from warhammer background.
The editing typos are embarrassingly frequent recently.
So annoying to hear him call them “droid- Deekas” sigh.
This game has too much focus on the characters for my liking
