The first time I heard Jordan Peterson's name mentioned, the implication was that he was a jerk and a woman-hater. I have been listening to him for a few months, looking for something to disagree with and I can't find a single thing. Everything he says makes sense. And look at how lovely he is here with his daughter. I adore this man and the way he fights for truth.

@@mckinneychica2 Sure. I’ve watched a lot of sermons in America where 1-2 pieces of Scripture are flashed on the screen and the rest is a 30-minute skit and comedy routine. I’ve watched Jordan on live TV/ Digital media slip in Scriptural references either straight down the pike or indirectly applied at a higher degree in roughly the same 30 minute segments. I’m not really prepared at the moment to supply you with aligned data; just a general observation from someone who has listened to a lot of sermons with a discerning ear and the power of the Holy Ghost according to the will of the God of Abraham through the promise of a Comforter sent by Jesus of Nazareth on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:1-4.

I don't think diverse should be legal when you have kids, unless the kids are getting sexually abused. Do you think the new husband cares about the child from the previous husband? Divorce is self centered in most cases.
I don’t think this was a fair question to ask Jordan. If he disagrees with his daughter’s divorce then he publicly humiliates her and if he shows support then he is seen as a hypocrite. I don't know if it's only me but I've always seen institution of Marriage as an Act of service. A service which demands sacrifices and adjustments on personal level, in order to achieve similar goals. Not a fun vacation but a long journey filled with all sorts of emotions and Virtuousness.
Marriage is just a way to torture each other into "better" humans for the sake of serving society. It is a type of slave contract. Does Jordan Peterson look like a happy person that enjoys life? He is so morally rigid that he cannot allow himself to enjoy what life has to offer.
Marriage and especially children are definitely an act of service. Having said that people don't come with personality schematics identifying their tendencies or aberrant behaviour and no one should remain to support such behaviours. Divorce is a necessary evil because people are evil.

The “conservative story” is NOT just about staying in a marriage regardless of the circumstances. If there’s abuse or abandonment, a separation or even divorce is likely warranted. Couples need to go into marriage with their eyes wide open, and then half-shut thereafter. 😂 In all seriousness, it’s about treating marriage as a COVENANT and not a CONTRACT. Unless a marriage is build on a foundation of faithfulness FIRST to God and THEN to each other, the odds of success are low. My parents proved my thesis with a great 65-year marriage, and I’m working on proving it with a great 30-year marriage. Bottom line: a highly successful marriage has many facets (common values, healthy financial perspectives, similar overall direction in life) but first and foremost it must have a solid spiritual foundation. A strong marriage is a threesome: God, Husband, Wife. And as God’s word states, “A cord of three strands is not easily broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

You guys ever heard of the term "bariatric divorce"? It's when someone gets bariatric surgery, looses a lot of weight *permanently* as a result of that, and suddenly ends up being far higher in status than their spouse due to their new-found attractiveness. It actually *doubles* the chance of divorce. We obviously don't know what's up with Mikhaila Peterson, and it isn't even up to us to judge, but that's still the first thing that springs to mind on this topic. We know that she's been severely depressed *and* physically frail her entire life due to her autoimmune disorder. But now that has basically been cured. On top of that, she seems done with the trouble of having a small child, she now seems firmly settled in her career, we know her father isn't on the brink of death anymore, and all the controversy around the Petersons seem to have calmed down as well. She's of much higher status than she would have been when she first married, her life finally appears to be stable now - and suddenly she divorces and remarries within just a year? That just smells like trading up. That's the opposite of the loyalty Dr. Peterson preaches.

But it's foolish to try and assess any marriage outside your own.

Jordan Peterson always so intellectually serious, this is the first time I see him smile. I even got a glimpse of a full teeth grin for a split second. A father's love and joy for his children is impossible to hide.
This interview is hilariously ridiculous. Peterson’s first son in law was the one who chased around Europe looking for the miracle detox cures with Mikhaila for her dad when he became so sick and over-medicated during his mental health issues. She praised that first husband up down left and right as her father was regaining his strength. And now she suddenly realized he was the wrong person and less than two years later is already married again to this new amazing, perfect man? And Peterson is confident his daughter will stick with this husband now? Mmmmm call me sceptical. Marriage is hard work and takes conscious care and effort..as Mikhaila dad spoke of many different ways ... where in any of what Mikhaila says does his view of marriage shine through? No where. 😂😂😂😂😏
That's not what his daughter said AT ALL. He was there being supportive but it was his family going from place to place looking for help, especially Mikhaila. You can't even correctly remember what happened i think she'll be fine without your approval LOL!😂
No doubt, she's a statistic. 70-80% of divorces are filed for by women.. She's already got money.
I can understand people disagreeing with Jordan's views, one thing I will never be able to understand is, people not respecting his intelligence and ways of thinking he brings to the table.
What is there to understand? People have an agenda. When they don't have a fact-based logical argument to defeat his views, they disrespect him and spread the word so others will dismiss him without giving him a chance. They can't prove the message is false, so they kill the messenger.

It’s not his earlier views or his intelligence, it’s that he started violating his original self-declared ethics about how well he needed to know and understand a topic before speaking on it. His behaviour has changed over the last several years and he now spouts authoritative opinions on areas within psychology and outside where he is not an expert nor even up to date on the science. Then he runs from subject matter experts who can and do legitimately challenge, with facts, his new thought experiment.. It’s so disappointing really how far he is now from where he started. I think she’s actually 31. You make some observations about her that I also have, but I try not to be judgmental. I bet it’s hard enough living in her famous father’s footsteps, especially when she’s not as bright or eloquent. I also wonder how available JP was when she was a kid. Truth is, she struggled w/a very difficult autoimmune illness, starting in early childhood: Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. It’s the only reason I know of her, b/c of her elimination diet, leading her to only eat meat (Lion Diet) to reduce inflammation in her joints… I also developed an autoimmune illness as a kid (Type 1 Diabetes), then several others, including Psoriatic Arthritis, similar to her condition (& why I found her). I only say all this because, having a medical illness as a kid drastically changes your entire childhood experience. You grow up sooo fast, take on responsibilities most kids don’t, just to take care of yourself. I had to check my blood sugars & give multiple injections daily, even in the middle of the night, measure my food, etc. (w/parental help). It’s common for people w/autoimmune illnesses to struggle w/depression, anxiety… & isolation. Your friends can’t really relate to you, b/c the decisions your parents (then you) make for you all revolve around your illness. You’re often left out. You’re kinda different, but you just wanna be like everyone else! You learn how to deal & grow, but I think this took a huge toll on her (mentally & physically), especially because she was so radical about her diet and kinda made a career out of it, using her dad’s name. What "ideologies" ... other than not having disciple in your home and over your kids, not cheering on divorce and prostitution, not standing by "honour family name and husband", not idolising fame and money, not following your "beliefs", thinking "therapy" is a "thing", not being brave, not preaching "only love between man and woman before getting married for life", not honouring "till death do us part", not being BRAVE as a MAN should, not being ashamed to the grave by sitting next to and publicly touting a prostitute to the world, not raising your kids with morals!!!!!!!!?????? Tate played him well and good, the poser.
1:57 oh man that was brutal... they tried so hard to act as if that question didnt make them uncomfortable but their forced little comments only served to highlight just how uncomfortable they actually are... There really is something off about these weirdos... Ive not trusted him since he exposed his BLATANT double standards regarding identity politics.. He basically disapproves of identity politics only when it comes to people of European heritage telling us all to remain individualist while jewish identity politics is somehow necessary and correct.. He is a gate keeper, he basically took all of the energy that was built up in the young white western males and turned it away from any kind of effective solution to our problems.. People started to catch on to this and so called him out on it and he flat out refused to answer the question, sometimes even resorting to calling people "racist" and other leftist bs used to avoid arguments they cant win... He is not to be trusted.
Of course Peterson didn't really answer the first question. He didn't address if he feels any responsibility, and he never thinks he is wrong about anything.
Because he recommends marriage and advises that it is bigger than the individuals in the marriage and that couples should work through their problems especially when they have children. Then his own daughter does not follow what he recommends. People would be interested in that
I''m sorry, but this is exactly why Mikaela is bad for his brand. He obviously loves his daughter and has said he doesn't agree with her divorce. He probably also has some thoughts on his grand baby now being raised in a blended family. How he answered this question, shows how conflicted he is with his ideals and his daughter's decisions. I get why Piers would ask.
I think this is where he falls down. I agree with a lot of what JP says but as a single parent, I'm left thinking, right, well, agreeing that marriage is the ideal doesn't protect you from divorce, so what now JP? and that's when his preaching feels like shaming. I'm here, accepting accountability for my bad choices based on my unhealed self, but there's nothing for me in his lectures because I can't go back in time. hopefully Mikaila's experiences will remind him that he's talking to flawed people not data subjects.
@@SusanaXpeace2u "Feels like shaming"? Another interpretation dressed up as unimpeachable fact. She was not right to divorce just because. She was also not right to marry just because. She should have thought that one through first. But there’s a huge difference between splitting up because you’re unhappy and too lazy to try and make things work, versus splitting up because your spouse is an abusive monster who doesn’t care and refuses to change, or because your spouse cheated on you. Even then, it’s like… God calls us to keep our commitment in the vast majority of scenarios we can think of. It being hard or boring or unfair is not a good excuse to bow out. I think most people that get divorced find that their problems stay with them wherever they go, until they take a hard look at themselves and see that they are part of the problem.
Ah yea ok and if he is abusing the kids it's OK too, you're disgusting. But laws are above your stupid opinions so people are free to leave their abusers. Thanks God for that.
I don't think she's shared the details or explicit reasoning behind her divorce, has she? She's got a daughter with him and I imagine she wants to protect the reputation of her child's father to some degree so they can peacefully coparent and raise their daughter together amicably. I trust Mikaela wouldn't have left her marriage for a superficial reason.
I looked into this divorce briefly. Her Ex Husbands profile was full of photos of himself with his daughter, most of them in fact. Her profile was full of bikini photos of herself, flaunting her body , and she married another guy shortly after, we know women dont usually leave a man they're with, let alone married to, unless they already have a back up guy. It seems she already had her back up guy, while married. Im not a fan of Jordan Peterson or his daughter.

Let's not forget Mikhaila Peterson got knocked up after a few months of dating her 1st husband then flew to Romania while they were still married to visit Andrew Tate and we all know it wasn't to just 'visit castles' as she stated. She even planned on moving to Romania. Then she meets this other Jordan guy and marries him and has a kid pretty quick. She's such a disaster

In her case, (the critic) it's an example of someone with a lower-IQ who doesn't know it. we used to call them 'half-wits' which is really the most dangerous kind of dumb. She is smart enough to realize she's reading about Lobsters but not capable of grasping the more meta-concepts - and yet - she isn't able to 'get' that there is one. Her '2-D' comprehension is obviously all it can mean. She also see's a math professor adding a little number '2' but calls it "squared" and starts scoffing at how dumb that is phhhht.. uhhh the number 2 isn't a square lol phhhht.. and she absolutely believes the math teacher is super dumb. "what is this?" she even asks but never thinks "okay.. well i don't know so let me find out if there's more'. To add to your point: Anyone who scoffs that its so dumb his advice is 'clean your room' is another who simply doesn't get any higher concepts or as you say and/or dishonest and thinks it will discredit him. In fact, the "clean your room" is actually one of the single most effective psychological 'mental state' techniques with fascinating psychological insights, studies and even 'brain scan' research besides having the actually cleaner physical room.
The fact that the point they are hung up on is the very first chapter tells me all I need to know about their opinion. Sorry but a four year marriage isn't putting in that much time, energy, or effort. Unless a spouse is a danger to others (yourself, children, or anyone else really) or they are cheating, you should stay. When people look to their own happiness only . . . "my kids will be happier if I am happier" . . . maybe. Maybe not. A kids happiness eventually becomes separate from you, the parent. So their happiness may not always be in sync with a parent's happiness. A kid just might appreciate THEIR happiness being put first instead of yours. Besides, ALL marriages have rough patches. Weather it! Buck up!! And yeah, I do speak from experience.

Pretty crazy, as righteous as Jordan Peterson holds himself, his daughter decided to get married, assuming to the wrong person, and get divorced, not because of abuse or infidelity, or something grave, but because she was unhappy. He preaches regularly that we aren't called to be happy but to live a life of purpose. Add to that, the amount of physical alterations to her face shows that she is focused inward and on vanity. I would have hoped that his guidance would result in a better outcome for his daughter.

There's a thing I don't understand. She talks about feeling vulnerable without money-but isn't her father wealthy enough that she'd never have to suffer true poverty? Because she said she didn't mind shopping at thrift stores, so she seems to be talking about the risk of real poverty, like having no food or roof over her head. I think she's lying to herself, like many celebrities do. Thinking they're the same good ol' self inside and not someone who now wants social status for pride's sake. She seems to be chasing the same level of wealth, fame and admiration that her father has earned, without realizing that the attributes of his character are the ones she should want to replicate. What a sad thing. However, Peterson seems to be such a lovely man (and I say this as someone who's neither a fan nor a hater) and extremely wise, saying he has *faith in his daughter;* it may take years for his daughter to realize what really matters, but he has marked the path for her, leading by example.

She had an interesting upbringing, her parents were quite hippy ish, in to home-schooling I think. She is family orientated herself. But obviously she sees things through a woman's lens. Let’s be real, he has a healthy relationship with his daughter. If he publicly threw her under the bus in this interview it would’ve recked this family. Peterson did say he believed in his idea of marriage when piers asked. Notice he also said he isn’t going to get involved with his daughters life in a personal level. Translation: Jordan doesn’t agree with her decision as it goes against his vision of morality. However, his daughter is an adult and can make her own choices. Jordan’s choice of words reflects this, but doesn’t outright “destroy or shame” his daughter in the public eye. After all their personal lives are really none of our business. @@bettedavis45 You're mixing two different things together. I didn't say anything about his daughter divorcing her first husband.
She better not be done, she had another child with new hubby right away. Her mother calls Mikaila and her new husband "Barbie and Ken."

But it's foolish to try and assess any marriage outside your own.
I agree, especially assessing the part of someone else's marriage. But, I think it's more so that we know how strongly JP feels about divorce and products of blended families. His daughter really isn't living his preachings. Which I guess is a part of the parenting journey.

Should you remarry within the same year? Any other answer except it depends is an Arbitrary figure that you or anyone else (I don’t care if it’s JP) Is trying to impose, and it depends mainly on the person and the circumstances for which they are divorcing. Having your partner commit adultery is going to take more or less time than having them abuse you. If your spouse dies, it is different than if they simply abandon you. She stayed for a while, *knowing* it wasn't right just to avoid displeasing her father. So it's interesting that despite having a father in her life (something that JP rightly insists is better for children, and I agree despite being a single parent) Mikaila still ended up needing to iron out her people pleasing streak. I also developed an autoimmune illness as a kid (Type 1 Diabetes), then several others, including Psoriatic Arthritis, similar to her condition (& why I found her). (It drives me nuts she never discusses her rheumatoid arthritis now, because it doesn’t just disappear!)! Just thought I’d share my thoughts. Take care!

Totally agree with you. JRP had some good points. But this isn’t it.

Marriage is a sacrament. Materialists treat everything as sex drive, like Freud.
