      GameSir most certainly saw how that propelled sales and general interest with the G8. The G8+ having it be part of the design cannot be a « happy mistake », it’s very much intentional. As for the hold, it is surprisingly, dare I say shockingly great. I’m sure someone that understands physics could explain the phenomenon but I think it has to do with how strong the « squeezing » of the controller is on the tablet, having the back panel be disconnected is of no concern and no it doesn’t suddenly make the controller flip backwards.

    • @Supermrloo

      @@GameTechTalk I think the take home message is why didn’t game sir design it for larger tablets, at least to 11 inches?

      @GameTechTalk  3 месяца назад +1

      @@Supermrloo Well, there is technically a controller they hinted a few weeks back specifically for the latest iPad. A part of me does wonder if they are actively working on an upcoming controller and a part of me thinks maybe they have negotiated a properly licensed first party iPad controller. It would be a bit long to explain here but all in all, there was a white G8 in the wild at the last CES that was MFi. So maybe they are working with Apple to find a time and a place to release such a product? Just speculating.

      @@GameTechTalk Really hope we will see something that "officially" supports 11inch tablets. It is weird that doesn't really exist since 11inch is the most common tablet size. Looks ok but it’s a shame to loose the headphone jack and now need charging. Main interest for me is that on my legion y700 it’s often a pain to get the controller to connect over usb. I would want to keep having to fold down to charge both batteries though so I will probably solder longer wire between those pads

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  4 месяца назад

      The left side LED around the "mode" button blinks red when trying to charge while opened, most likely to indicate that it is not receiving power but I would think at least that the left battery does not hinder the operation of the left side but rather gives extra juice to keep afloat whenever closed. I still haven't test that though so I'm not completely certain this is how it works but without a doubt, bridging the pads would do it. Cheers! :)

    if you need to charge it, plus bluetooth latency/hassle, and increased weight, that's the reasons you might prefer g8 over g9+

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  4 месяца назад +5

      Latency has been superior on the G8+ versus the G8, crazy I know and the one reason is due to polling rate. Granted, there is a bit of jitter but in optimal settings, you're still 4x the latency on the G8, 8ms versus 2ms average. Of course, -if- the G8 polled as high as the G8+, I wouldn't be saying that but... it doesn't so that's a win for the G8+. For everything else you named though, you are right. Personally, I lean more on the benefits the G8+ has that G8 don't, like USB-C (female) wired support, Switch support, rumble, swappable buttons, gyro enabled, and outright better internal performances. Better compatibility with cases too. I hear you but to me it's trading a bit of convenience for a truckload of features, a fair trade in my personal opinion.

    • @NL0Gwenster
      @NL0Gwenster 3 месяца назад +1

      People talking Bluetooth latency, what piece of crap hardware are you connecting controllers to ? You don't hear anybody on the Xbox one/series or Playstation 3,4,5 people complain about their wireless controllers right ? Get off the fact that "bluetooth equals latency/hassle" - it's not. The G+ also has rumble and gyro , you can use it on the switch instead of docked joycons for more comfort without losing gyro aim.

      @@GameTechTalk Everything about this controller is so awesome down to the smallest details like the polling rate and the auto on and pairing when extending the device. Which is why I am so sad that I have to return it, I get painful hand cramps after several minutes of playing which I think is from a combination of the heavy weight and my pinky finger not having a good grip on the handle. Other smaller controllers without a place to rest pinky and ring fingers don’t give me those cramps probably because they are so light. I'm thinking of buy a rog z13 (2023) with an nvidia rtx 4050, and using this controller. How do you think it can work? The weight vs the minisforum v3 is 1.18 kg for the z13 and 946g for the minisforum tablet. I understand that due to the weight and size it's not going to be as comfortable as a legion go or a rog ally, but I want to know if your experience using this to play with the minisforum v3 was satisfactory, if it's really useful for playing, if the controller holds the tablet well

      I mean, fortune favors the bold as they say and I think boldness would effectively be necessary to give this a try. Technically, this will work, the one thing that makes me hesitate is I don't know how rounded the corners are on the back of the Z13. I couldn't do it with the Legion Go for example because the corners at the back of the device were too angled. I've actually game quite a couple of times with the iPad Pro 13 and the Minisforum V3 using this setup, it's more pleasant on the iPad Pro but it's definitely feasible with the V3.

      I wouldn't say all that much. Not liking it is a bit more than how I feel about it. It's not a bad device, it's just a very "specifically for" type of device and I think after having tested it thoroughly that I simply am not the target user. But it's not bad, it's actually quite good, but it also is overhyped in many of the areas that were the most important for me personally, which is gaming.

    Amazing! I got this controller because of this video. I can't believe there isn't a gamepad made to fit large tablets already. I'm probably going to trade in my tab s9+ for a tab s10 ultra when it comes out supposedly in October because of this mod. I hope Gamesir reads the writing on the wall and makes a gamepad that fits the tab ultras without mods.
    Do you keep the pieces separated when not using the gamepad? It seems a little weak to store it like this, but I'm scared to keep doing this mod and possibly cause damage over time.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  4 месяца назад

      The springs in the back holds the controller together in one piece, they never come separated per say and to put things in perspective, the G8 (this controller's predecessor) is basically the same body and inner workings for the mod and that controller stayed for, no exaggeration, 4-5 months steady on my Tab S8 Ultra. Since then, I removed it of course but it still works just fine, it didn't suffer any particular damage or anything like that.
      They are built very robust and from where I stand, you can feel at ease to put this on your tablet without issue. If you want to push it a smidge further, people even mod inserts to put over the coils so that the controller is permanently stretched. However for this controller, it may cause to lose battery autonomy as it needs to be closed for both batteries (one on each grip) to fully charge.

Man I'm tempted but my only gripe with all the mobile controllers on the market is that all the controllers seems to follow the xbox form factor even Backbone (which has license with PlayStation btw). Wish there is a controller which has PlayStation's form factor instead (both analog stick being low) as I prefer my hand placements to be that way 🥲.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  4 месяца назад

      Right, symmetrical stick placements. You are right, there is extremely slim pickings of those in the telescopic controller space. I do wish we would see more of them, thankfully that market space is greatly picking up pace. I'd be here for it too, I like both at this point.

    Awesome , you are BREATHTAKING!! THANKS
    However, there is something I am missing ... XINPUT...(Xbox Controller Mode)
    Two questions please :
    1 does the G8 plus Rumble when you use BetterXcloud on android ?? (Wireless /bluetooth) Or just wired? Perhaps using the Dual shock wireless Mode makes BetterXcloud rumbles...it is worth trying this also.
    2 ok Windows, Does the G8 plus Rumble using Xcloud or Xbox installed games? If so, which Mode do you use ??
    I really Hope Gamesir includes the Xbox Mode bluetooth soon

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  4 месяца назад +2

      Pleasure is mine, ok so before I even got into a game using BetterXCloud, it showed an icon of the controller with a checkbox with Vibration, indicating it was supported. I tested with Forza and lo and behold, the moment I hit the gaz, RUMBLE!! 😊
      I tested on the PS4 mode, fully supported, fully functional (Switch mode you would've lost the analog triggers). As for PC, that's where things get a little more complicated. If you plug in using cable, and you hold Capture + X, as I addressed in my review, it will effectively switch to X-Input, no need to wait for a firmware update, it does it now.
      However, if using wireless, you can still seek connection on X-Input mode but other devices do not seem to see it when scanning, maybe they left the SSID invisible to prevent access? I can't say for sure. So you have another solution, if you connect wirelessly on PS Mode and you use a software called ViGem on PC, you can convert any controller to Playstation protocol, or X-Input protocol, and vice versa. So the solution then becomes to connect using the PS Mode and with ViGem, change your controller protocol to X-Input and voila, this will work without issue with Xcloud or any other else games that would require it like Gamepass titles.
      There may not be a wireless X-Input support officially from GameSir, and again, I would be 100% sure that the reason is Microsoft licensing, hinting a potential Galileo G8 for Xbox model in the future but if there is, much like the X2 Pro, that model will most likely have less features in terms of modes, but it could have both triggers and grip rumble, that would be cool!
      Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked here, I hope this helps!

      @@GameTechTalk thanks again , so focusing just on android /BetterXcloud
      You said that the Xbox controller was checkout with vibration and It Rumbled, but, how did you Connect the G8 plus to BetterXcloud?? Wired ? Or Rumble can work wirelessly?? If so, what bluetooth Mode have you used?
      If you enable dual shock 4 Mode wireless, does the Rumble work on betterXcloud on android ?
      My main goal is making the G8 plus Rumble working and the Gamepad connected wirelessly when playing BetterXcloud.

      @@Andrew-Night On BetterXCloud, I tested wirelessly using the PS Mode and yes rumble worked perfectly fine.

      @@GameTechTalk oh..GREAT!!! So you mean...you enabled the DualShock Mode (wireless/blue color led) and when using BetterXcloud app on android, the app recognized the G8 plus as a Xbox Controller (pop Up message) with vibration checkout, right???? (Rumble fully working )

      @GameTechTalk  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes but no, the app recognized the controller as a PlayStation, it even called it as such, but the app converts it so that it works with Xcloud so you are right in a sense but really, it's the app that is doing the heavy lifting. Exactly like that ViGem I told you about, BetterXCloud basically does the exact same thing. Just know that it works, everything does, including rumble and analog triggers. Cheers! :)

      The D8 Pro will work for an 11in tablet. I would still recommend confirming width of your specific tablet to be safe but I am certain it'll work. The mod yes, but you do have a USB-C poking into your device so if you mean bluetooth, it'll be a bit of a tough sell.

    So I just got mine, I connected to my Google pixel 7 pro through Bluetooth but when I try to play cod mobile it don't activate IG, do I have to screen map? When I tried that through the app it wouldn't work
    EDIT, i fugured out the screen mapping but idk how to get the screen mapping to be playable. Very strange. I have a Google Pixel 7 pro so it's definitely not my phone. I had all the buttons mapped where i wanted them but i didn't know what to do from there, do i stay connected to gamsir mapping or what

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  4 месяца назад +1

      No, you should be fine playing CODMobile as long as you use bluetooth, but some modes may not be compatible, try connecting with the blue light (Capture Button + B) to your phone, that ought to do it. No mapping should be needed.

      If you mean the software on its own, no, you just grab it from the PlayStore. If you mean the screen mapping software? Yes. That's not specific to GameSir though, other mapping softwares have you do the same, it's even more complicated on some of them.

      @@Krrr90 For the G8+, the Kishi Ultra is good, don't get me wrong, it definitely is. But there is just simply ZERO reason to go Ultra with the G8+ in existence. It has rumble, it has gyro, it can be easily modded for larger tablet support, it's got better polling rate too. You know the only thing the Ultra got over the G8+? RGB. That's it. Only thing.

    remote play ps5 (ios) gyro not work g8+

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  4 месяца назад

      Indeed. The gyro only works if you connect the controller directly to your PS5 and that's only for PS4 games (since G8+ spoofs as Dualshock 4) and the connection breaks after about a minute. So gyro from the controller level is definitely working, for Remote Play, I think the issue is the software itself.
