  • In this episode of the James Altucher Show, James dives into a fascinating conversation with Dr. David Sinclair about the groundbreaking research on aging and potential ways to reverse it. They discuss the intriguing concept of using low-dose medications for unexpected benefits, the discovery of DNA by Francis Crick and Jim Watson, and Sinclair's paper on the information theory of aging. The discussion covers the difference between genetic and epigenetic information, the possibility of reversing aging by maintaining or restoring the information contained in our DNA, and the remarkable evidence from animal cloning that supports Sinclair's theories. They also explore the current challenges and future possibilities of gene therapies for age reversal, including the reprogramming of cells using Yamanaka factors, the experimental use of specific chemicals to rejuvenate cells, and the potential implications of testosterone and other supplements on aging. Sinclair's pursuit of understanding the epigenome and its role in aging, alongside the practical application of this research in treating conditions like blindness and extending lifespan, provides a tantalizing glimpse into a future where age reversal could become a reality.

The most incredible thing is that we are not that far away from reprogramming our cells, and he 's proved it. He's at the cusp of maybe restoring sight to human beings, what an incredible feat. My biggest fear is that there are many people out there who will do whatever they can to jeopardise his work, not because they can do better but out of simple spiteful jealousy! Remember every single human being on this planet will get old one day and suffer everything that goes with it, if we can do something to negate that outcome not only do we profit but all the generations to come. It is far better to prevent these illnesses happening rather than treating them with dangerous drugs, which profit nobody but the pharmaceutical industry.

A major benefit for our species of extending healthspan is, we'll keep the productivity of exceptionally creative minds.
There's a respect for and continued benefit from older people in many cultures. In our culture, there's mainly youth worship, that and the power of money. This is leftover, a vestige from when breeding early and often was required for the species to survive.
We're graduating from early primitive needs mostly external to our own best interests, like bulking up species numbers to --- this. Like this interview, the brain using the tools it creates to shape our environment.

David Sinclair has lost a little of his pixie dust because of a few missteps.
However, there is no denying he is pushing the Longevity space in a new direction…looking at Aging as a disease, the hypothesis that there is of a back-up copy in cells that could be used to reverse aging, and more.
I do hope Dr. Sinclair does stay focused on his research and keeps pushing the envelope on Longevity science!

Hopefully once blind people see again the penny will drop and everyone will understand that age reversal is real and more research money will flood in so that we can all become young again as soon as possible

As I'm watching this podcast now I swear the information I received stimulated something in me and my body had rushes of tingling sensations. It feels like age reversal or like a power up like in a video game. Maybe our cells understand us and can get excited too. Really I'm not kidding.

Then comes the question of cloning and the rights of the other person and all the others that comes with. How much longer could someone live if they were given younger blood of their own? How many clones of your own could you make?

What about programmed senesence, the telomeres shorten and it seems to be more than wear. Are we indicating that fundamental lengthening of telomeres has been done in experiments? Otherwise, there seems to be a "clock" that indicates programmed death by a body calendar. An actual time-senesent truly time aged rat may have a body clock that references an aspect of...time...that is not being addressed by artificial ageing tecniques. As scientists and anti-aging proponents, we need to have begun to look at this in a real time manner, because the time it takes to know the proven coucpome of such validative measures-- now THAT could get "expensive" in terms of lost lives. Lets proceed as individuals to try--but we also need this for the future.

I believe free radicals should be studied more often because they put out negative waves that can get in the way of signals and charged particles pretty much everything inside the body of a living cell and stop the positive activity between molecules and other particles creativity. Unpaired electrons can carry a negative charge for a long period of time while injecting negative energy and causing confusion between molecules and charged particles and stopping them to not line up with the inner and outer cell structure and work accordingly with the cell inner umbilical cord duplex protein adjustable scaffolding operating system designed to liquefy molecules and deliver them through activities on each contact with the cell inner wall but because there have been damage to the cell internal an external tissue they begin duplication on damaged and dysfunctional tissue, so rather than breaking away into two separate cells the cells clump up into a waste field powerhouse injecting free radical material into the bloodstream and eventually causing damage to other fully developed cells outer surface and enter body. I believe stopping unpaired electrons from doing any type of damage could be much easier than looking for alien resources. I believe it's all about negative and positive charge particles and reducing the wavelength on unpaired electrons and stopping the confusion with a stronger microwave input that can convert into a negative and positive charge and balance the entire waste field of decaying cells so white blood cells can take over and stop free radicals waves interference on the human DNA and from blocking biological digitally coding from positive electrons and molecules and other particles trying to stay charged and keep up with creativity..

Did Dr. Sinclair seriously just say he’s okay with individuals committing suicide “as long as they are mentally stable”??!! Seriously, mentally stable? What a line. I used to have some respect for him. Not any longer. Think about the statement…suicidal, yet mentally stable? I don’t think so!

People have misunderstood Sinclair, as usual. He very carefully pointed out that suicide is not something to be taken lightly, nor to be dismissed out of hand, since personal freedom of speech and existence is ultimately sacrosanct. So, he’s suggesting that where life is so horrifically bad for an individual, but that individual is still able to make an informed decision on what is to be done given this level of pain, then it might not be our moral right to withhold whatever treatment is to be granted once all the ethical, legal, and physiological parameters have become addressed within some communal legislative framework. Including assisted death. This is an interview and he cannot go into pacifying everyone’s sensibilities regarding his view. Listen very carefully before jumping up and down and judging an intellect that’s operating at a cutting edge level whilst constrained within the law of the land. This is an extraordinary intellect with a highly motivated and complex mindset. He doesn’t need the respect of those who cannot think for themselves or about others who need the greatest care. He has a right to an opinion. That’s what freedom and diversity is all about. He’s not looking to win the presidency of the USA. He’s explaining and exploring what science and scientific endeavours could mean for everyone’s life. Let’s just listen…

he managed to rejuvenate the eyes of mice and monkeys with this procedure, which means that the backup copy exists. The problem is to get the retrovirus carrying the substances that trigger this process to all the cells and without triggering autoimmune diseases, tumors or anything else. Another problem is that these viruses, although they are designed to be "good", for a pharmaceutical company are still something to be handled with the right fear, developing better ones requires a lot of attention
