  • In this video I make a simple adapter plate to have my portable miter saw lock into both my Packout boxes, and my miter saw stand. This will be super helpful for jobsite work and save me a ton of time! Simple projects like this can really improve your efficiency mobilizing a job and loading your vehicle.

    *Remember that this saw needs to have adjustments made to make 0 or 90 cuts accurately **MyBest.Tools** I had to use a right angle on the deck and blade and then adjust the bolt to get the correct reading. Once this is done, it works great.*

    Cool! You can also make plates and mounts for other tools too, like you could build a portaband station and a router station. Super handy!

    Not something that I have, but I really like your solutions to problems.
    I always like to see how people modify their tools to fit their specific needs. I’m always chicken to start modifying the tools themselves but when I have done that for a specific operation it has helped tremendously.

    This is absolutely PERFECT. I'm in the process of saving for a van but I really need a chop saw for doing trim work. I used Packout and my car is overflowing with boxes and tools. There is no way I could get a set of stands in my car with the space I have left. I have just enough left for the saw. So this is the perfect solution! I'll make this and use my stack as a stand

    Nice work on the adapter I also wish that the wheels were more robust for actual ground use (not shop floor) and I wish they would come up with a lift system for loading and unloading (a 125 to 150 lb pack out gets to be a chore)

    Great freaking video man. Just found you. I have an okd smaller corded chop saw mounted to one of the packout worktops. I have 3 stacks on 4 wheel dollys. One is the packout dolly the other two are made in house. Even went a little crazy and made one for the original 2 wheel rolling box.

    Very cool, especially if you have to go into a building with a service elevator. Just curious, do the stock supports on the miter stand have enough adjustment to make up for the saw being raised a little bit higher with the packout plate?

    • @MakeEverything
      @MakeEverything  3 года назад +2

      Thanks! Yeah i was worried about that but its just enough! Thats part of the reason I used 1/2" plywood instead of 3/4" Luckily this little saws pretty slim.

    I thought about doing the same ' as some times I have to work in the city of bath here in the UK. where parking is expensive or can't park at the job .so I have to take the bus in . The packout would be a great way of transporting the chopsaw making it a portable work station. Perhaps you can knock some up with 18mm and put them up for sale .

    I really like this. I've been considering the packout dolly system for work, but have been dissuaded so far by reviews saying the wheel system isn't very robust. I do like the ideas of the large wheels the dolly has, how has yours held up?

    • @MakeEverything
      @MakeEverything  3 года назад +1

      I really do like it, check out Kaizen Inserts they make a really nice wheel kit for the large rolling toolbox. The 4 wheel dolly is also super nice, and if you needed larger or stronger wheels it would be super easy to upgrade them. I know it seems weird to buy something with the thoughts of having to upgrade, but that being said ive had this stuff for a few years and its all held up really well!

      Funny, I know a lot of guys with makita, Bosch, even dewalt tools running the packout system for storage and transport solutions, even though is expensier than dewalt. Maybe you should try milwaukee before hating.

  • @alexyu6928
    @alexyu6928 2 года назад

    I think Milwaukee didn't come out with an adapter plate for mounting their miter saw to the PACKOUT system is liability. A miter saw or any table saw should be operated on a strong and stable platform, the PACKOUT is strong but might not be an ideal platform to operate a miter saw on it.
