    Thank you so much for this, I’m a total embroidery novice but watching this brilliant tutorial makes me feel more confident to actually use my lovely machine! I know someone else asked about adding text and you kindly provided a link to a separate tutorial, but can you please explain at what stage it would be best to add the text? Just after the quilting of the globe and before the backing maybe? Sorry if that’s a stupid question! Many Thanks

    • @KaysCutz

      Hi Clare thank you pleased you enjoy them. Not a stupid question at all, you are absolutely right, you add the text after the quilting and before the backing. Happy stitching.

      You're welcome Felicia, thanks for watching. I use the cheapest masking tape I can find because the cheaper stuff sticks better than the good stuff. Try a different brand they are all different one day you will find one that works for you, then stick with it pardon the pun!.

    Hi! Newbie here. Excellent tutorial; thank you! One question. Why do you always trim the “back” fabric before you trim the front? Thank you!

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  5 лет назад +4

      Hi Minno thanks for watching. To answer your question it is a good idea to train yourself to do so as it is too easy to forget to do the back. I cant tell you how frustrating it is when you stitch to the end to find out you had forgotten the back. The answer is you don't have to but it is wise to. Hope this helps you.

    Love your designs and videos x How do I add words to the globe please?

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  3 года назад +1

      Hi Sheila if you watch this video at timestamp 4.16 I show you how to use you machines built in fonts to add text. You would need to do a test stitch first by hooping some cut away stabilizer and stitching your text out on that first before doing it on your bauble to make sure it will fit., you don't need to add any fabric as it is just a test for size. ruclips.net/video/IAVdCa8g7bs/видео.html&ab_channel=KaysCutz

    • @KaysCutz

    What is the reason for the two layers of stabiliser?

    • @KaysCutz
      @KaysCutz  5 лет назад

      Hi Janet, stabilizer is the foundation of your building it stops the fabric from stretching and twisting during stitching, if you dont use enough the satin stitch edges will pull in rather than lay nice and flat. Most stitch out problems are caused by not enough stabilizer, you are better skimping on cheaper fabric than on an extra layer of stabilizer.

      Vinyl tablecloth plastic in fabric store/wal-mart. Get the thin stuff. OR try a dollar store vinyl shower curtain, or a vinyl document protector or cut up one of those zip bags that sheets and comforters come in from the store.
